Characteristics: The central priority of the Bailey School staff is to educate the whole child. We believe in creating an environment of learning which encourages the individual child to think, explore, create and experience the joys of discovery. Our teachers emphasize the relationship that exists among all the academic areas so that students do not simply learn facts and dates, but why they are important: they are taught to see the large scheme of events.
The underlying philosophy of the Bailey School is that every child can learn, and that instructional strategies should reflect the natural learning process of language development. Our goal is to provide children with multiple and varied opportunities to expand those life experiences and through them to improve their communication skills- oral and written, and to provide them with opportunities to develop cultural literacy within the curriculum.
