1. Lawrence Kortright. Born 1785? at Santa Cruz, West Indies. Other information points to 1788 as year of birth. Served in the Grenadier Guards 1804-8. Lawrence Kortright (b 1785) joined the Grenadier Guards 5th May 1804 as Ensign and proceeded to Sicily in 1806 with the 3rd Battalion, he retired on 27th June 1808. Married Jane Maria Macqueen, eldest daughter of John Macqueen of Burlestone, Hampshire. Married 16th July 1812 at St Mary, St Marylebone, London. . Died 20th September 1849 aged 63.

1a. Sir Cornelius Hendricksen Kortright, bapt. Jan. 8, 1818, at Saint Mary, St. Marylebone Road, London, England. Sir Cornelius Hendrickson Kortright, the son of Lawrence and Jane Maria Kortright was born 1817 and died 23rd December 1897 in Hillside, Barre, Ontario, Canada. He was buried in Stroud, Ontario. He married Emily daughter of Major Anderson, then in 1865 married Theresa daughter of Captain C Forbes. He was President of the British Virgin Islands Colonial Council 1854-6, Lt. Governor of Grenada 1856-64 and Tobago 1864-72. Acting Governor of West African settlements 1875-6, Governor of British Guiana 1876-82. He was knighted in 1882.

2. Cornelius Kortright ( 1790-1830) Married on 21st December 1810 in St Croix to Louisa Maria Kenney, the 2nd daughter of Charles Kenney, of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Judith Alette Kenney. Mr. Kenney died in 1797 and Chancery records indicate that a joint will between Charles and Judith Alette was performed on St. Croix Mar. 10th, 1796 and was proven on May 26th, 1797. Louisa was born 3rd October 1794 and died 18th January 1867. She is buried in Fryerning. She was married to John Wortley de la Mare prior to the marriage to Cornelius.

3. Maria Newton Kortright. Bap. 22nd October 1796 at Aston, Hertfordshire. Date of death unknown. Married 22nd May 1821 to the Reverend George Tufnell of Uffington, Berkshire. Late of the 3rd Regiment of Guards. Born 1796. He died 16th January 1868.

4. Samuel Newton Kortright. Born 15th February 1801, baptized 9th April 1801 at Widford, Essex. Died 14th March 1851 at Southampton, Hampshire.

5. Clara Kortright. Bap. 13th April 1803 at Widford. Married 4th May 1839.

6. Emily Kortright. Born 8th September 1804. Died 30th June 1853.

7. Frederick Edward Kortright. Born 31st October 1811. Died 28th March 1812. Buried 7th April 1812 at Widford.

8. Captain William Kortright of the Coldstream Guards, of Porto Rico. William was a Captain in the Coldstream Guards from the the 68th Foot 1st DLI, he was made ensign on 26th November 1812. On the 1st January 1813 he was posted to the 1st Battalion in the Peninsular and fought at the battles of Vittoria 21st June 1813, Nivelle 10th November 1813 and Nive 9-15th December 1813.

He returned to England 31st December 1813. On 13th November 1815 he was posted to France with the 2nd battalion that had fought at Waterloo. The Battalion arrived in Paris on 6th December; he served in No 1 Company. He was promoted to Captain in the 93rd Foot on 11th September 1817, and exchanged back to Coldstream Guards on 6th November 1817. He was put on half pay on the reduction of the Regiment on 18th December 1818 and put on full pay on 25th July 1819. He served with the Regiment until 10th November 1825 when he exchanged to the 93rd regiment with Lord Hotham.

Died 21st December 1866 and buried 18th December 1866 at Fryerning. Married Sarah EG Coesvelt, daughter of William Gordon Coesvelt and Maria Helene Kortright. Married 9th April 1850. Died 1876.
