Rana Koleilat: Frankenstein for Lebanese Women

Rana Koleilat: The epitome of the Lebanese woman gone all wrong. Cold-blooded, manipulative, blinded by her desire for luxury and an expensive lifestyle, craving attention and power, greedy...

This is a woman who started off as a clerk, then rose to become an executive of the notorious Al-Madina Bank, a woman who was determined to get what she wanted, even if that meant being the ringleader of a financial fraud case and the biggest Lebanese banking scandal in history- involving a squandering of over 1.2 billion dollars and implications that the bank provided the funds for the assassination of Hariri, links to Saddam, and speculatively, to Hezbollah.

She was pulled out of jail two months before Harriri's assassination, under Ghazaleh's directions, then removed from the country by her Syrian friends. She now sits in a prison cell in Brazil, being held until a formal extradition request is submitted from Lebanon to Brazil.

And what’s worse- she loves all the attention. Every time she is broadcasted on camera, she is smiling- bringing to mind the female villains of the musical Chicago!! Apparently she tried to commit suicide last week, using as her ‘tool’, out of all things, a lip liner sharpener! This, in addition to the love letters she revealed she had sent to a mystery man, whose ‘betrayal’ towards her ‘taught her that she can trust no one.’

This is the Frankenstein of the Lebanese woman, corrupted by money, power, materialism, and attention. Does the empowerment of women necessarily involve an abandonment of our virtues? Who is the Lebanese woman prototype today: Rana Koleilat? Haifa? What are the prospects for successful, powerful women today?

The "Scandal" of Bank Al-Madina is an AMERICAN Black Operation from A to Z , using local Lebanese "Agents", some wittingly, and some others Unwittingly. It's a classic covert operation par excellence. "Mahmoud" who is mentioned by Rana Koleilat's "Love" letters is a case in point.... and many others.
Some of it will come out in dribles, if she evr makes it to Lebanon... some of it will never ever come out.

Lebanese women since the beginning of time are enjoying this reputation. For example, Jezebel in the Old Testement, Europa from the Greek Mythology.

Back in the roaring 1990’s, Ms Koleilat was a Lebanese Mata-Hari of sorts allegedly working for various Middle-Eastern intelligence agencies.

Knowledgeable people say she had (concomitant!) love affairs with numerous Lebanese and Saudi politicians: she’s wanted by the Lebanese ministry of justice in conjunction with the “Bank Al-Madinah Scandal”, a political-financial scandal of Gargantuan proportions involving the Hariri clan and their generous Saudi backers.

Rafic Al-Hariri and King Fahd Ibn Saud are said to have used Bank Al-Madinah throughout the 1990’s as a legit financial front behind which they concealed massive money laundering and political corruption activities notably discreet cash transfers to diverse causes such as the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign, the fundamentalist Taleban regime of Afghanistan, as well as covert funding of the anti-Asad wing of the Syrian regime led by former Vice-President A.H. Khaddam and Gen. Ghazi Kanaan…

Anyhoo, it seems this corrupt chick has finally come to roost: I hope she’ll spill the beans on the Hariri-Kanaan-Khaddam mafia triumvirate that ruled and pillaged Lebanon from 1990 to 2004

I’m starting to like “Al-Haqeeqah”!

Hmm, Lebanese woman prototype..
Good question...

All the female politicians are "annexed" to an original male success story (Jalloul, Hariri, Mouawwad, Jmayyel)..

May chidiac? Heroine but mothers would object...

Popstars? self made successes but frowned at socially..

Fairouz anyone?
