So it’s basically the opposite strategy all of the other networks are taking.
Pretty boring as mostly everything except Survivor is premiering in premiere week.
ABC is going to be last. LMAO.
Smart move to stick with premiere week. While other networks are airing more reruns than usual in months like October, December, March and April, CBS will have debuted their seasons late enough to air originals some of those weeks.
CBS is the most predictable network.
CBS has premiere dates that are very easy to follow. Compare with NBC.
I guess life it easy when you’re the #1 network, because you don’t need to put lots of effort into promoting your shows as they’re already hits.
@Ryan
Actually, CBS is really rerun-heavy in March and April, usually only airing 3 new episodes within an 8-week period. Hopefully with the season starting a week later this year, they’ll save more episodes for those months.
CBS are predictable what is wrong with that? NBC schedule was a utter mess.
finally. now hurry up ABC!
Hmm, I expected tbbt to get one hour premiere just to beat x factor, but the schedule involves no surprises. or maybe it does – debuting everything in one week is somewhat unlike nowadays.
I didn’t realize how young their Mondays are. Only HIMYM is actually old.
Easy to follow premieres.. all at once. The way to do it.
TaaHM’s numbers are almost as big as TBBT’s. They’ll crush X Factor (and 30 Rock/Up All Night, and whatever inevitably doomed show ABC are putting for ritual sacrifice in that timeslot this year).
Almost makes me happy NBC has moved Community from the Thursday death slot into the Friday death slot. Almost.
I actually think CBS are weak on Mondays 9pm. If someone put some decent scripted competition against it, instead of reality crap, then I think they could be taken down. 2BG isn’t established enough and Mike & Molly is dreck.
Hell, Mob Doctor might even have a chance, despite the awful awful title.
Since CBS is launching so few new shows, and it’s one of the top broadcast networks, it wouldn’t make sense to sprinkle its premieres from August to October like NBC feels it should in order to take advantage of its few ratings draws (AGT and the Olympics). Better for the Eye to dive right in.
Looking forward to season 2 of PoI
All new the last week of Sept – easy enough… CSI – The last Wednesday, same time, cool! less confusing then new every week for at least 4-6 weeks…sweet!
The only night that i would have scheduled differently is Monday night.
What I would have done:
8:00-9:00 How I Met Your Mother (two episodes)
9:00-9:30 2 Broke Girls
9:30-10:00 Partners
10:00-11:00 Hawaii Five-0
This way you give 2 Broke Girls big and known laid – In for it’s first airing in 9:00 pm while you give Partners bigger Laid – In then How I Met Your Mother (for it’s premiere).
Then the next week (Oct.1):
8:00-8:30 How I Met Your Mother
8:30-9:00 Partners
9:00-9:30 2 Broke Girls
9:30-10:00 MIKE & Molly (3rd season premiere)
10:00-11:00 Hawaii Five-0
And we now will have a straight week of premiere overload from CBS. Good thing most of these are returning shows that I like. The only CBS fall show I’m looking forward to at all is Elementary. Hope it’s good enough to really warrant The Mentalist being bumped into the Sunday night death slot.
Now can ABC announce their start dates soon? I can’t wait to start Last Resort, or the new season of Castle.
CBS has a good schedule except for Sundays and Fridays. Sundays will be solved once TGW gets canceled after it reaches 88 eps, but Fridays will be an easy win for ABC, while NBC and CBS fight for second. Here are my predictions;
Mon- Easy win in the demo, but tied with ABC for viewers
Tue- Easy win in demo and viewers from 8-10 pm, but crushed at 10 by NBC. Only time they lose are DWTS and Voice finales.
Wed- Third to ABC and Fox in demo, but rules in viewers.
Thu- Completely crushes all competition.
Fri- Win in viewers, but second in demo
Sat- Win in viewers, but third in demo to FOX sports and ABC reality repeats.
Sun w/ both Fox and CBS football overrun- third place to Fox and NBC
Sun w/ only CBS overrun- second to NBC
Sun w/ only FOX overrun- fourth
Sun w/ no overrun- fourth
Post-football Sun- Third to ABC and Fox
@ Oliver
What are you talking about? Two Broke Girls was the highest rated new comedy of the past season. I don’t know what “dreck” is, but Mike and Molly is CBS’s fifth highest-rated comedy and one of the best comedies on TV quality-wise. Please go climb back under your rock and stop complaining about shows you don’t watch.
What, premiering everything except Survivor during premiere week? What madness is this?
I do understand why other networks spread the premieres out, but it is nice to have a simple starting schedule.
What happened to Law & Order:SVU? Does it premiere later in the fall or spring?
