Mission-Shaped Parish

The Diocese of Toronto seeks to become shaped for mission and faithful to God’s call to serve all in a post-Christendom context. Have a look at a video that takes the viewer on a road trip to visit nine diverse parishes around the Diocese. All have taken different approaches to connecting with people who are not being served by traditional forms of church.

In this section of our website, you will find resources for learning about mission as well as resources for doing mission and grants that can help you reach out.

For those of you living in rural parishes you might consider attending the ninth Annual Mission-shaped and Rural Ministry Symposium (October 22 – 24, 2012) at the Jackson’s Point Conference Centre. Professor John Bowen of the Wycliffe College Institute of Evangelism will be the keynote speaker. You can register here. Also see the Mission: Learn page for resources on growing rural churches.
