I too had my wedding here some time ago and had afresh night. The food, service and venue were all lovely- although the place could use a good scrub! I have to agree with some of the previous comments about the manager, Mark who I found on occasion to be abrasive, boardering on rude. After a couple of tense encounters with him I was dismayed to spot him drinking at the bar with two completely random people at my wedding reception. Really inappropriate given we had hired the venue. Although I didn't let it bother me on the night I'd struggle to recommend this place .
We were married at Le Gothique last week and were extremly happy with how our special day went.
The venue is characteristic and also has a wonderful garden full of beautiful flowers.
Mark and Elliot worked hard to ensure that our day ran smoothly.
Our guests were treated to a well organised event with delicious food and wine. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were friendly, polite and efficient.
Many of our guests commented on the wonderful choice of venue and the quality of the food.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant for weddings and special occasions.
We chose Le Gothique to hold our wedding reception in June 2009. We were really impressed by the way the event ran.
The staff worked tirelessly, the food was lovely (many commented how tasty it was) and although the day was a bit chilly, Mark made sure that the garden area where we wanted to hold the event was warm.
It was a brilliantly day, I would recommend Le Gothique to anyone for their wedding or party.
I also had an excellent experience at le Gothique for my wedding on 25.10.08. I was a little nervous as I had read mixed reviews however myself and husband were really happy with the venu. The setting is unusual and fantastic, the food was great and the staff were friendly and relaxed. We had a wonderful meal and then a great party afterwards. I would highly recommend to a potential bride and groom and wish we could do it all again.
If you take the time to read my review you will be able to come to your own conclusions about this wonderful venue and its passionate staff. On my wedding day as I got out of the wedding car I tripped and fell ripping my beautiful wedding dress from tip to toe. The manager drove my mother into Wandsworth Town found an Asian Seamstress and had the dress "invisable' mended there and then on the spot. All the while in contact with his staff at the restaurant and the registrar from ~Wandsworth Town Hall. The one hour delay was dealt with by the staff with drinks and extended canapes. There was no panic.
I must admit that I had contemplated bursting into tears and just getting married in a t-shirt and jeans. The cool calm collected management at Le Gothique saved the day.
We eventually sat down to a wonderfully presented meal. How on earth the chef coped with the unexpected delay I shall never know.
Some people who write on these sites must have some ulteria motive. Mine is only for praise for a job well done and beyond the call of duty.

I have always thought that people who leave messages on these sites are a little sad. But I really must come to the defence of Mark and his team at Le Gothique after reading the rubbish posted earlier. I am writing as the bride NOT just a guest and all I can say is the our day was a marvellous success due in no uncertain terms to the diligence of the owner Mark and his team headed by Simon and Rose.
We visited many venues before deciding upon Le Gothique. And I have to admit it was the price and stunning venue that swayed us to choose Le Gothique. We had several meetings (all by prior appointment) including a tasting evening all hosted by Mark personally. On the day itself he even drove his Rolls Royce to pick us up, take us to the church, wait during the service, then onto the venue. How cool is that? Having the proprietor with us throughout the morning with him phoning his staff at the venue to advise of our imminent arrival really put our mind at rest.
Acting as Master of Ceremonies throughout the day Mark eventually left us in the capable hands of his staff.
The food itself, was excellently prepared and served. In all a great success all round and my husband and I heartily recommend Le Gothique to any future bride and groom.
Susie and Malcom July 26th a date to remember
I have recently attended a wedding at Le Gothique and can only say that I would advise anybody considering holding their wedding here to think again. The man who runs this place is utterly dreadful, bothering the bride & groom on their special day & being rude to guests left, right and centre. If you truly want your wedding day to be the happiest day of your life I would entreat you to hold yours elsewhere.
I have visited Le Gothique several times and found the food, service and setting to be very good indeed. The wine list in particular is very keenly priced. The £17.50 three course set menu we dined from on our last occasion had a surprisingly good onion soup followed by crispy skinned confit of duck. The tart tatin was the best I have been served outside France. Le Gothique is a most unusual venue.
The setting for Le Gothique is fantastic, it's just a shame the food doesn't live up to the building!
I've been served better food for less money, but to be honest I'd probably go back to Le Gothique simply because the building is so cool!
