EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: IWRESTLEDABEARONCE ARE RUINING IT FOR EVERYBODY, SHOW US THEIR “KARATE NIPPLES”

Earlier this week, we revealed that Iwrestledabearonce are changing genres to black metal, and promised that we’d unveil their debut as a BM band this week. Well, here it is — and it’s good to see that the band’s new, grim image hasn’t dampened their sense of humor too much. The track is called “Karate Nipples,” and it’s the first song off their all-new, all-black metal release, Ruining it for Everybody, out Tuesday, July 26 on Century Media.

Well I mean come ON, you didn’t really think they were turning into a black metal band, did you?

No no no. This was just IWABO and MetalSucks being the merry pranksters we are! Ruining it for Everybody features no actual black metal. Sorry, Emperor fans.

What it does contain is eleven new schizophrenic, experimental, ADHD tracks that are sure to piss off the humorless, elitist tight asses of the world — in other words, just the kind of shit we’ve come to expect and love from IWABO. In fact, this album is like It’s All Happening on angel dust — everything about it is more “ier.” The grindy sections are even nastier than they were before, and the not-so-grindy sections (for lack of a better phrase) are even more danceable, super-catchy, and further steeped in electronica. In this regard, “Karate Nipples” is exemplary of the whole album — contrast the section starting around the :41 second mark, which I could seriously picture all the girls who hold Sarah Jessica Parker as their idol bopping up and down, with the section that immediately follows it, which is pretty much just a piece of broken glass jabbed right up your fucking urethra. The approach isn’t that different from Happening, but the extremity of the extremism sure is.

Like we said, Ruining it for Everybody — which is a great fucking title, given the band’s relationship with the haters – comes out July 26 on Century Media. Get stoked. The band will also be the reason to go to this summer’s All Stars Tour — get dates here.

I’m all about spastic stuff but this band doesn’t do it for me. The kiddies love them though so they must be doing something right.

When I saw them live they reminded me of the shitty local band that you can’t wait for their set to end. The vocalist was really struggling to stay on pitch with the clean vocals. It probably didn’t help that they were playing with Animals As Leaders, Darkest Hour, and Dillinger either.

No, that is another person, but I agree with his opinion. I personally hate metalcore (Chris likes some, and I’m not going to argue with him about the bands he likes), I was just making an example since IWABO are metalcore, and one of the most horrible examples of it. I read that someone called them grindcore, but if they’d listened to Carcass, Napalm Death or Lock Up, they’d know that IWABO isn’t grindcore. I would argue with you about IWABO being “great musicians,” but obviously you’re far too adolescent to listen to real metal.

As to my musical taste, I love death (especially technical), black, grind, progressive (and almost all variations thereof), groove, doom (especially death/doom), sludge, and post metal. That is real metal, not bands that need to prank other people and sites into believing that they would change from shitty metalcore to black metal. I completely understand Chris from GunShyAssassin’s view on this. IWABO has taken advantage of their publicist and has essentially committed fraud in doing so. In fact, if they had released a song as black metal, it WOULD be fraud. They’ve taken advantage of someone that should be able to trust them so badly that they came so close for it to be illegal. THAT is why I hate this band – not just for their music.

If they actually stuck with the simplistic pop-rock sections in there they would be a not bad band at all. The heavy sections were simple, boring, and sounded rather thin while the random genre bending added absolutely nothing to the song.

When did this band get so many fans on this site??? Last time they had an album come out there was almost an uprising on here because nearly everyone on here hated them and they kept doing write ups nearly everyday. Is out favorite little metal site finally being invaded by the “cool kids” God i hope not but it appears to be true.

Nah, I think it’s just that people have realized that they’re not as horrible as you’d think they’d be. Are they essentially just a super-dumbed down version of Mr. Bungle? Yeah, but, even then, it’s still at least somewhat interesting. They’re obviously very good musicians with interesting ideas, I just think they need time to mature and develop. Someday, they will release their Disco Volante. Just you wait.
