Lyre is a project to design and build a Free/Open hardware audio player (DAP) and recorder, for use with Rockbox firmware. Read more about Lyre here.
Status
- We are developing a prototype that can be relatively easy assembled at home by us in a DIY fashion;
- We are working closely with Opendous and we are using his Open Hardware i.MX233 ARM9 that runs at 454MHz;
- We plan to start selling the first working Lyre DAP on March 2011, for 200€.
Characteristics of Lyre
- i.MX233 ARM9 32bits @ 454MHz
- 32MBytes SDRAM
- low power, black and white LCD, Nokia 5110 clone, 84X48 pixels
- audio IN and OUT
- 6 users buttons
- 2 memory card: 1 uSDCard from where system boots and 1 SDCard
- USB mini (for operation as USB Mass Storage Device)
- Operates from USB or Li-ion battery, and charges the battery when connected to USB
- JTAG connection for debugging
- 3D printed enclosure
