Patrick F. McDonough of Dorchester, a retired city clerk for the city of Boston and former member of the Boston City Council for 11 terms, died Wednesday at Spear Hospital in Plymouth, N.H., after an illness. He was 76.
Mr. McDonough's family emigrated to the United States from his native home in Connemara, Ireland, in 1928, settling in Roxbury. Mr. McDonough attended St. Joseph's Grammar School and graduated from Boston English High School in 1942. He attended Boston College on the G.I. Bill and graduated in 1950. He also graduated from Boston University Law School in 1955.
