Harbhajan Mann and Gursewak Mann have finally released Satrangi Peeng 2 and they had an unusual meet with the press of tricity on 4th Jan evening at hotel Altius, Chandigarh. Unlike other press meets, here the two brothers performed every song in a kind of mini concert.
The venue was arranged by Satyachit Creations and was meant to serve as a celebration of Lohri as well. Along with the press, some of the distinguished guests were also invited. Sonali from T Series led the event and the whole performance was telecasted live on 9x Tashan.
The meet was unusual in its aspects as instead of answering the questions, Harbhajan Mann and Gursewak Mann explained the genre and background of every song on the album. Better than that they had brought their instruments with them and they sang a little bit of every song to the gathering. Perhaps the best was when Gursewak Mann played “Sarangi” and Harbhajan Mann played “Dhadh” while performing Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The best part of the gathering was that at many intervals he requested the people from press to put their cameras and pens down and enjoy the songs. Many did but some were still talking on their cell phones. To whom Harbhajan Mann humbly said “Bai phone rakh deo, dhayan naal suno Baaba Bishna ki kehnda” as he was performing “Baabe Bishne di Bethak” at that time. Everyone laughed and happily obliged as its not everyday that you get to hear Harbhajan Mann in such a personal setting.
Out of all the performances, the best was of “Oh Chali Gayi” which had heart rendering effect on everyone as Harbhajan Mann sang it in his emotion drenched voice. Harbhajan Mann also declared that he has decided to shoot the video of every song on the album even if most of the songs on the album are not commercial in their appeal. He said that he wants to create music that will live for decades and that the youth today might not like such cultural songs but even after 20-30 years, when the world would have moved on from Google, YouTube and Facebook, his songs will still be representing the authentic Punjabi culture.
Awesome listenin’ to his voice,felt close to our cultural roots with his folk ‘awaaz’.I been in india for almost 2nd half months,been listenin’ to crap(most of it) music,lyrics on punjabi music channels,missing sardool,manak,shinda and all our respected great singers.
Much respect to new young singers like Sharry mann,vinaypal buttar,navjeet kahlon and few more for atleast choosing good lyrics.

I hope some of our fukre singers would get to listen to Babe Bishne di Advice. Get some clue about their responsibility towards to society from “Main Punjab Bolda Haan”.
Lots of credit goes to Babu Singh Mann who is writing all of these great songs for at least half a century.
It was amazing. I recorded most of it sitting on my toes and later Harbhajan bai asked me to give the recording to him.
