The Oshawa Assembly Plant has two production lines: the Flex Line and the Consolidated Line.
The Flex Line builds the Chevrolet Camaro, Camaro Convertible, Camaro ZL1, the Buick Regal, Regal eAssist and Regal GS, and the Cadillac XTS.
The Consolidated Line builds the Chevrolet Impala and Equinox.
Covering 587,000 square feet, the Oshawa Metal Centre in Oshawa produces over 80,000 parts a day, consumes 337 tons of steel a day and produces 22 million parts a year for the Oshawa Car Assembly Centre and other corporate customers.
The St. Catharines Engine Plant machines parts and assembles GM's famous Vortec brand of engines. The plant currently assembles the Gen IV V8 engine, the High Feature V6 Engine, and the GF6. The V8 engine powers the Chevrolet Corvette and the Chevrolet Camaro. The high-feature V6 powers the Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu and Traverse.
As well, specific engine components such as aluminum blocks, cast-iron blocks, cranks, heads, rods and cams are also manufactured here.
CAMI Assembly builds the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain.
The Canadian Headquarters building is the residence of GM of Canada Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM), Purchasing, Finance, Product Engineering and Planning, Personnel, Legal, Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) and Corporate Affairs Staffs.
The Canadian Regional Engineering Centre is an integral part of the GM Global Engineering Enterprise, using state-of-the-art technology to leverage the best engineering talent around the world to bring our customers the best vehicles. The Canadian Regional Engineering Centre has full-scale vehicle design and development capability. The Centre currently focuses on chassis and body sub-systems and continues to enhance its expertise in alternate fuels, specialty vehicles, cold weather development, and complex project delivery.
The Centre also provides engineering support for current production vehicles including Manufacturing, Product, and Quality Engineering disciplines.
The Customer Care and Aftersales division provides support for the Canadian Parts Distribution Centres and delivers GM parts and products to over 500 Dealers and AC Delco distributors across Canada.
Parts Distribution Centres are warehousing facilities responsible for the movement of material to and from the dealerships.
