September 27, 2011. Due to my decreasing availability to update this section of the website as needed, your best bet for obtaining late-breaking news on new publications, etc., is from the home page of this website. And because it is time for another serious redesign/overhaul of this website, it probably won't get updated again until the redesign is pushed out. Serious inquiries only. July 9, 2010 Recent publications: Clickers III (with Brian Keene), The Corporation (limited), Secrets, and Do Unto Others. Also, my mini collection, The Summoning and Other Eldritch Tales, is available as an Ebook from Darkside Digital. A handful of new stories have seen print, too. Consult the bibliography for the latest. A super-duper, limited edition of my novel The Beloved is forthcoming from Altar 13 Publishing as a 100 copy limited signed edition. It will be expensive, especially the 13 copy lettered edition. The lettered edition will probably be very beautiful, but I bet the regular slipcased edition will too. It will contain the complete and corrected text of the novel (15,000 words were eliminated from the Leisure mass market paperback; this edition restores it), as well as a related short story, "The Smile" and a special afterword. Please buy it. In ten years it will be worth a lot of money and you can sell it on the secondary market, maybe even fund a semister of college or put a down payment on a house.

November 26, 2008 Recent publications: "Best Friend's Girlfriend" - new short story at Chop Shop Horror Show. Forthcoming: NEW NOVEL - Primitive. To be published July 2009, Delirium Books in trade paperback and a limited, signed hardcover. New story - "Laura" - coming soon in Shroud Magazine! Likewise, a new essay - "The Grand Finale" will appear in the book Writer's Workshop of Horror (Woodland Press), edited by Michael Knost in early 2009. Also forthcoming: a new collection entitled The Summoning and Other Eldritch Tales as part of the Horror Mall's digital download program. In other words, you can buy it as a Digital Download (Pdf) directly from Horror Mall or as a Kindle download from Amazon.com. It will also be available as a custom hardcover from Horror Mall for just under $40 for those of you who want to put the thing on your bookshelf. Fair warning, though. The custom hardcover will not be a fancy deluxe edition with special binding, nor will it be signed. For details, check out the Horror Mall. And while it is still too early to announce here, it appears my orphaned novel The Corporation will see publication sometime in early 2010. Details will follow when it becomes official.
August 5, 2008 Recent publications: Clickers and Clickers II in trade paperback from Delirium Books at $16.95 each! Hero in limited edition hardcover from Bloodletting Press at $45.00! Short stories...well, if you can find it, "Pulling Strings" appeared in Darker Discoveries, a promotional chapbook published by Dark Discoveries magazine. You might try Ebay if you absolutely have to have it because this puppy was only produced for subscribers to Dark Discoveries Magazine. As for reprints, "The Man Who Had a Death Wish", a weird hybrid of western/Cthulhu Mthos that I co-wrote with G. W. Thomas has been reprinted yet again in the debut issue of Dark Worlds magazine (Summer 2008). It's a neat perfect bound magazine that is attempting to be a throwback to the pulps, and the editors/publishers have succeeded with this look. You can pick one up here for only $13.99. There are a slew of short stories that are set to be published later this summer, and in the year, but I can't say anything about them now due to contractual issues. Once those are ironed out, news will be forthcoming. Stay tuned for more book news as well!

May 10, 2007 Clickers was published in a handsome limited edition from Shane Ryan Staley's Delirium Books in late December. Now sold out from the publisher, it was issued in an edition of 337 signed and numbered copies. The text in this edition is cleaned up from the original ebook and paperback releases and constitutes the definitive text. It also includes a special introduction and afterword, plus over 15,000 words of deleted scenes that I have no intention of restoring in future printings. If you missed out on the pre-order for this one, there are a handful of specialty stores that might have a few copies in stock. Try Shocklines, Dark Delicacies, and Clarkesworld books. The sequel, Clickers II, which I co-wrote with Brian Keene, was released in April by Delirium. If you haven't pre-ordered a copy, hit up the aforementioned specialty dealers pronto - there are no current plans for a trade paperback edition of this title. The signed limited edition (500 copies) retails for $50 and there is also a 52 copy signed leatherbound lettered edition, housed in a special slipcase that will set you back a few hundred bucks. The letterbound edition was published two weeks after the regular limited and is beautiful beyond imagination, featuring a full color plate of the cover art, and marbled end papers. There are also alternate versions of early chapters of the book in their first draft state, as well as story notes by Brian and myself. Unfortunately, if you didn't snag one of these during the pre-ordering stage you've already missed out - they sold out within hours of going up for sale. Your best bet, if you really need one, is to haunt ebay, but be prepared to give up a month's rent or a mortgage payment. Good thing for the "author's copy" provision in my contract, otherwise I couldn't even afford to buy a copy for myself. "Restore From Backup", the novella I co-wrote with Mike Oliveri, is still scheduled to be published later this July from Bad Moon books as a limited edition chapbook. John Everson is providing the artwork for the cover. A special signed lettered edition is being planned, limited to 26 copies, issued in hardcover. This edition will feature an exclusive introduction and the short story this novella was based off. I think the price on that is $75, while the chapbook itself (300 copies, softbound) is $15. My story "Mutant" will appear in the June issue of Horror-World. "The Wasting" appears in the July issue of The Harrow. Please check them out when they appear. Leisure Books will reprint my novel Shapeshifter in January 2008. While I haven't signed the contract, I can go ahead and provide news on this since I received an advance check from the publisher on this already - I co-wrote a short novel with Wrath James White called Hero that will be published this December by Bloodletting Press in an edition of 400 signed copies and 26 lettered copies. Hero is about a well respected Civil Rights leader named Adelle Smith who suffers a stroke that renders her partially paralyzed. Unwilling to stay at a nursing home, and thanks to generous donations from the NAACP, a home care nurse is provided for her. Only the home care nurse, a bi-racial woman with deep-seated racial issues of her own, turns out to be Adelle's worst nightmare. Trust me. You guys are going to love this one. The Beloved is still available from Leisure. Yes, I'm aware of the typos. I corrected the page galleys I got prior to publication but somebody at Dorchester dropped the ball, so stop asking me about it. If you haven't bought The Beloved yet because you have the Midnight Library edition, you need to rectify that and buy the Leisure edition anyway, and damn the typos. C'mon, it's only $7.99. Buy a copy for your mother, your brother, your friend who doesn't like horror but will read every Stephen King and Dean Koontz book ever published. Buy one for a soldier serving in Iraq and mail it to him/her. They'll love you and thank you for it. And for the record, Survivor is still available from Leisure, too. Please buy it. I have holes in my shoes. I need a new patio door and new carpet for my house. Speaking of Survivor, interesting developments on the film adaptation, but that's as far as I'll go for now. My novel The Corporation has yet to find a mass market home, but I imagine it might take awhile. This one's a departure for me, more in the vein of Bentley Little than what I'm normally known for. Regardless, if you like Bentley's work you'll probably dig this one. In the meantime, if you'd like to read this prior to its mass market debut I suggest contacting your favorite small press publisher - preferably one I've already done business with, or an outfit like CD or Bloodletting - and tell them you'd buy The Corporation from them if they publish it. If there is a demand, some smart publisher will publish it. Work on other projects continues including putting the finishing touches on another short novel, starting an entirely brand new novel, and a revisions on a screenplay. Deals are pending for all of these. And as always, there are more short stories being written and marketed. Stay tuned to this space, and my blogs for more details.
