If Girls Aloud are the modern day Spice Girls then Sugababes are surely today's All Saints. The 'babes have been the girl group it's cool to love over the last few years. They've had their share of success & traumas what with being dropped, losing a member, a pregnancy and four number 1's all behind them. All that's left is for one of them to fall in love with an angry rock star.

Fourth album Taller In More Ways is sadly disappointing. While obviously accomplished singers, it's the songs that are at fault; there are too many dull r'n'b-lite tracks like the dreary "Joy Division" and the frankly annoying "Got To Be You".

Fortunately good comes with the bad. Next single "Ugly" is a luscious midtempo ballad full of true Sugababes attitude and "Follow Me Home" nearly reaches 'Too Lost In You' standards. The standout pop track is not the foot tapping Xenomania produced 'Red Dress' but the almost exact reworking of 1985 Animotion classic, "Obsession".

Sorry girls, but this isn't pushing the right buttons at all.
