The 4th Colonial Cup will see Canada taking on a USA side with a big year ahead of them as well. The Tomahawks are currently ranked 10th in the RLIF World Rankings, and with an expanded 3 match series on offer, Rugby League fans will see one of the fiercest rivalries in International Rugby League in a pivotal year for the sport. CRL Chairman Eric Perez commented on the expanded Colonial Cup. "We are extremely excited about the prospect of an expanded Colonial Cup especially since the USA will be competing in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. We are eager to prove that we can compete at a World Class level, and the Tomahawks being ranked where they are, are just that." Canada will be hoping to win the Colonial Cup for the first time, but as usual the USA will want to keep their hands on the silverware.
Jamaica will be eager to avenge their 2011 and 2012 losses in the Caribbean Carnival Cup and will no doubt be well prepared for the encounter. The Reggae Warriors played a well fought match in 2012 and must fancy their chances of taking the Cup for the first time in 2013. Canada will also be playing their Arctic neighbours Norway in a huge clash in Toronto. CRL President Cory Tukeli commented. "We are extremely excited about playing Norway as their growth has been excellent and they are right with us in the RLIF World Rankings."
Canada is currently ranked 18th in the RLIF World Rankings, and will be looking to crack the top 10 in the next 3 years. "Let's face it, Canada was made for Rugby League," Perez added "it's only a matter of time before the rest of the world finds out just how tough we are." Only time will tell if the Wolverines can make there mark.
