Games of Thrones returned to TV for its third season last night, welcoming a slew of new faces, including a few of African descent. British actors, Nathalie Emmanuel and Jacob Anderson appeared in Sunday night’s series opener episode.

Nathalie Emmanuel, a 23-year-old actress best known for her TV roles in the UK like Channel 4 and Hollyoaks, will play a child slave Missandei. Missandei works as a translator for Kraznys in Astapor, and is a servant of Daenerys Targaryen.

22-year-old Jacob Anderson will play Grey Worm, the leader of a group of eunuch slave soldiers called The Unsullied. Anderson is best known for his role in the drama Adulthood. He has appeared on episodes of Skins and has also performed in theatrical productions such as King Lear and War House. Anderson most recently stared in slasher film Demons Never Die, which was produced by one of our favorite Brits, Idris Elba.
