FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC GAME

Alright guys, I have this little project in mind.

Imagine a Phoenix Wright case, where the defendant, witnesses, victims and culprits are some of the characters of MLP.

It is possible

Ace Attorney Online is the easiest casemaker, where you can make your own Phoenix Wright cases, just like in the games.

So, what we need for this to happen is:
Teamwork.

We need people who can:
-Write
-Brainstorm
-Make Sprites
-Artists.
And I think that's everything

So what do you guys think?

Still, looking forward to how this turns out.

Wow, all them sprites look great! Can't wait for this to be released to the public.

Um, alright, I know I'm just a... well, anonymous guy on a ponychan, but I've got an artistic suggestion to make? Please reconsider the length of RainbowDash's right arm. I mean her right, the one that you can't see the hand of. Currently, it is WAY too long for normal human proportions - her shoulder for that arm is mostly relaxed, so her wrist/-band should've come down to around or just below her hipline, and some of her right hand should've been visible.

Sorry, uh, former Art Major, learned a bit about anatomy before I left. >_> No offense meant or nothing.

To the best of my knowledge, yes. I think it's a race to see which gets out first; this, Fighting is Magic, or the Kart racing one.

I am intrigued by the fans of this show, and also confused.

You're fans of this kids' cartoon, right? So you believe in the value, power etc. of friendship, right?

So how can you make a game in which cute wee Shetlands that love being friends with one another rip the shit out of each other?

Don't you think it's at odds with the whole ethos of your fandom?

Also, have you ever wondered what Hasbro, Lauren Faust or anyone else involved would make of it? I ask this because they actively (she especially) encourage the adult fan community, and in some cases (e.g. Faust again) are INVOLVED in it (given the apparent reluctance to take down the eps from Youtube, that song parody, etc.).

So what do you think she'd make of this, considering she wanted the show to teach kids (who will no doubt get a hold of the game) about friendship, but her fans made something completely anathema to it?

I wonder the exact same thing every single day.
I think there's like an arc, of...stuff, with the show and love and tolerance at one end, and the other half of the fandom at the other. (Think /co/ and /b/.)
Which would explain...everything, actually. *shrug*
Either that, or we're all just really thick and missed the entire point of the show. I prefer the former theory.

Have you considered the fact that, as in most fighting games, no lasting physical harm happens? Take a look at Street Fighter, for one. No matter who you play as, nothing happens and no one dies.
Look at Super Smash Brothers. It gave people an excuse to beat the stupid out of characters that they disliked.
Thirdly, it's just a game. If you're taking it this seriously, then something is wrong with you.

No, I just wondered. I

'm not taking it seriously because I don't like a show aimed at little girls, no matter how well-made and 'good' (at least from a child's point of view) that it might be (and how well-made it is is very debatable).

You lot seem to be taking this whole thing seriously, including what Faust thinks seeing as you seem to b huge fans of her, so it seemed at odds to me how you could claim to be so serious about it and its 'ethos' yet make something like that. That's why I asked, and this typically stroppy, butthurt reply is exactly the sort of thing that winds people up about pony fans.

If you didn't want to answer, you didn't have too.

You're probably just trying to get a rise out of me, and well, you succeeded.
Firstly, I don't speak for everyone. So generalizing the entire group for the words of a single person is rather foolish, don't you think? Besides, what's wrong with taking something seriously if you enjoy what you're doing? This is no different than what the doujinsoft people do with Japanese titles, and if anything the fact that people care enough about a franchise to try and make something for it to show their support should be a good indication of the quality of the product.
As for the "ethos" of the show that you seem to think we follow, I can tell you right now that it isn't "love and tolerance." That was just started up to bother the people who trolled the hell out of the /co/ threads. Then it spread to /b/ and from there Ponychan, where it was adopted like some sort of cult.
For me, these games are about having fun in a pre-established setting. Nothing more, nothing less.
tl;dr, we do it because we enjoy it, and any perceived "ethos" is just something Ponychan cooked up. Also, before calling someone "sloppy" you should read over your own posts.

Just kidding, I actually agree. It looks really odd now that I think of it

>So you believe in the value, power etc. of friendship, right?
No, I believe in that I like the cartoon.

>So what do you think she'd make of this, considering she wanted the show to teach kids (who will no doubt get a hold of the game) about friendship, but her fans made something completely anathema to it?

To be honest, I doubt Faust would play it.
She would say she's very busy or that she can't play pony related games for legal issues or something.

I think asking Faust to play this would be like asking her to read a fanfic.

And it's not like the game will be licensed by nintendo and sold in all your local walmart stores.

>>3661
Love and Tolerance is not related to the show at all.
It's something that /b/ made up to troll trolls.

Then became some sort of religion/way of living. Which really bugs me.

>>3733
Actually it started on /b/, /co/ never liked it.

and I suppose I owe you guys an update

The people on here seem more normal than those from Ponychan (with the exception of one or two who give themselves names like 'Sparkles' and probably are from said Chan, and genuinely take this whole thing seriously).

By the way, I said you are stroppy, not sloppy.

>>3738
You seem more normal than the rest of them. This question is really more directed at the likes of people from Ponychan. I didn't know the distinction, but still.

And also could you not skirt my question? I didn't ask if she'd play it, or anything like that - I asked if you wondered what she would have thought, seeing as so many of you are her fanboys/girls. So, I ask you again: you think she's brilliant, so have you wondered what she would think of it?

I don't mean to annoy, but I would like to know.
>> No. 3778
>>3776
Let me asnwer your question: she doesn't bother, nor care.

Its like asking whether she knows rule 34 or her show. And guess what, she does, but she's not going to go out and sue/attack the people who do so. And, when people say her show attracted 'manchildren', she is ready to point out this show was made for a wide audience, beyond just the target demographic.

As Candybag said, you're obviously trying to get a rise out of the people of this project. Cut it out. You're not making a point, and if you are, you're either a troll, or a self-righteous moralist. And, if its the latter, you shouldn't be posting here.

I am neither. I am just asking a question. If you don't like that, just ignore it, or rant like a little kid if you're a ponychanner before going home to play with your train set.

Annoying people is not my intention.

Also, how do you know she's aware of rule 34? Was there a post on her DA account or something, or just common sense? I would like a link if anyone has one as I am intrigued by this.

The reason I raised these issues is because she's obviously a connection between the innocent and adult sides of the whole thing, because she actively talks about and encourages adult participation, as does Hasbro (as evinced by the shoutouts to Bronies, etc.). So, there's always the chance of young kids finding out about the darker side of it. So I wondered if she was bothered by that possibility.

I'm just very, very intrigued. Again, I don't mean to irritate, but you need to stop overreacting.
>> No. 3797
>>3796
And I mean there is a higher chance of kids finding out with this cartoon than others because Faust and Hasbro encourage adult participation and try to appeal to the young adult demographic more than creators of other cartoons do - that's the crucial thing.

BTW, speaking as a Phoenix Wright fan I have to give OP credit. This game does look pretty good, even if it's not my thing.

And about the question: It can't be answered yet, the game is not finished so not even I can tell you what I think of it.

I don't remember saying that

As much as I would like to add shipping and some sexy scenes, I won't.

I put myself in the shoes of the player, what if I didn't like that kind of stuff? what if the ship was a a ship I hated?

IF there is (emphasis on if), it will be very subtle, all in the subtext

I'm sorry to disappoint you

Phoenix is the defense attorney

everyone is aware of 34

And to be fair that other project has a bit of advantage in that they seem to have had an easier time holding on their staff and aren't trying to... blend the worlds. Also, they don't have to deal with me.

Whether or not ours is a BETTER approach is academic, we're at least different enough to be be interesting in our own right. Actually, you know what, they don't have Gilda and will probably call Derpy "Ditzy Doo" and have her speak only about muffins, so fuck them. They suck.
