Training - CYC Outdoor Ethics (LNT) Trainer Course Posted May. 13, 2013
Does your District have a (LNT)Outdoor Ethics Trainer?

The Outdoor Ethics Trainer helps minimize impact on the land by teaching members the principles of Leave No Trace and improving Scouts’ outdoor ethics decision-making skills. The course covers the seven Leave No Trace principles and teaching techniques to enable you to teach others.

No experience necessary but Trainers Edge is helpful
Course is open to scouts 14+ years old or older

Please check with your District Training Chairperson before enrolling.

Participants are required to teach one of the LNT principles.
Participants are encouraged to support future trainer courses.

BSA Medical Form Part A/B required.

Activities - Scout Night at the Bluefish Posted Feb. 1, 2013
Celebrate summer with a great game of baseball, an evening of fun for the whole family, and a campout! Join your fellow Scouts and families for this event featuring an opening parade around the field, a great game, an awesome patch and a great movie and campout in the outfield.

Boys registering as Tiger Cubs from January 1 to June 19, 2013 are eligible for a free ticket. Tigers must be registered to qualify for their ticket. Directions and game details are posted to this website one week prior to the game. Tickets will be left at the "Will Call" window under the pack coordinator's name for pick up on June 22 unless otherwise requested. Full payment must be received prior to the game. All packs must complete and submit an attendance roster listing all Scouts attending by June 19. Please submit one registration per pack so you can be seated together.

Activities - Building Trades Merit Badge Workshop Posted May. 1, 2013
Scouts age 13 and over are invited to come to the second annual Connecticut Building Trades Merit Badge Workshop and earn two of ten trade-oriented badges: American Labor, Architecture, Electricity, Engineering, Metalwork, Painting, Plumbing, Surveying, Welding and Woodwork. All badges are taught by Master Tradesmen and give the Scouts a hands-on opportunity to earn badges that are often hard to earn in your home troop.

The Building Trades Merit Badge Workshop is Saturday, June 22 and is targeted at older Scouts. Follow the link below for complete information. Online registration goes live April 1, so be prepared.

News - Masonic Eagle Scout Commendation Posted Oct. 12, 2012
The Connecticut Masonic Eagle Scout Commendation recognizes the dedication of a Scout to the pursuits of Scouting and the achievements leading to Eagle Scout. The Connecticut Grand Lodge and the Connecicut Masonic Scouters Association (CMSA) offer Eagle Scouts a personal commendation certificate, suitable for framing, and a personal letter of congratulations from the Grand Master of Connecticut and the CMSA. Click below for the request form. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing. All commendation kits will be presented at the Scout's Eagle Court of Honor by a Mason or at a Lodge Stated Communication.

News - Philmont 2014 Posted May. 10, 2013
Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Registrations for the Council's 2014 four-crew contingent to Philmont are currently being accepted. Spots are filled first come, first served as determined by receipt of the completed application accompanied by deposit here in the Council office. Troops and Crews may sign up for a whole crew or Scouts and Venturers may register as individuals but don't delay as crews fill up fast.
