Beyoncé Calls for Action in World Humanitarian Day Promo [Video]Beyoncé delivers a call for action in the black-and-white promo for World Humanitarian Day. The 30-year-old singer has teamed up with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to launch a global campaign to celebrate humanitarian work and encourage people worldwide to get involved by helping others. Sporting braids, she delivers a powerful message in the viral clip. “On August 19. It’s high time we rise together,” says B. “Do one thing for a human being. Nothing is too small. … Make your mark and say I was here.” Beyoncé will shoot a video for “I Was Here,” the Diane Warren-penned ballad off her 2011 album 4, in front of a live audience at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York. It will be released globally on August 19.

@Rihanna Navy,
Is there something wrong with crediting a woman who is beautiful inside and out? That doesn’t seem shallow…now if they were talkin’ about her “gucci” and “prada” crap, I could see your point.

@Rihanna Navy,
No. You responded as if I said your comment was negative. I only questioned what your problem was with someone giving credit to a woman’s inner and outer beauty….which you still didn’t answer. While you don’t have to, I still have a right to ask questions respectively, which is what I did.
Relax. Not everybody is into the cowardly “internet Diva” act. Just making conversation. It’s harmless.
And I didn’t have to “clock” your comment…seeing as how it was the second one on this blog.

@Rihanna Navy, I hate ppl like U who always have to critizies other ppl. Do you now feel better?? When I said beautiful, I meant it not just from the outside, also from the inside, cuz of the good cause and her statement!! When I said natural I meant her outside look. Thank you @brainfood for understanding my point.

I really like her look in this video. Very humble. It wasn’t about her hair or nothin’…and I love how powerful her voice was…you know she usually only shows strength when she’s singing.
Refreshing vid, B!

I’m sorry, but the UN is NOT a worthy cause…they’re always trying to undermine America’s sovereignty over her own affairs.
I hope whoever wins does the right thing, WITHDRAWS us from the UN, and EVICTS them from New York City!

@Shutterbug,
Good point, S*. It actually is the other way around. The UN is often criticized for its pro-US stances.

She is looking fine in this clip. I’m glad this video is getting the platform it deserves. It still burns me that it wasn’t 4s lead single. It would have been a definite #1.

I love the message that the UN sends across the world and Beyonce should be flattered that they picked her as the platform for the message. I can’t wait to see the video for “I Was Here” because using it as the soundtrack for World Humanitarian Day will give the song a whole new meaning to many people.

@madame, Did you watch the video? She wants EVERYONE to help one another. She wants EVERYONE to take a stand. And it’s not always about money… it could be cooking a meal and giving the clothes off your back to the homeless or less fortunate. You’re too ignorant to understand that.

@chimajii, She isn’t trying to make the song a hit, she’s trying to promote a good cause. If she wanted to make the song a hit, she would have sent it to radio, made artwork, and released it as a single on itunes.

My advice to women in their early 20′s stop wearing alot of make up because in the end you’ll start to get alot of wrinkles like Beyonce.

uggggh this girl dont give a fuck about nobody, if she did she would donate some of that billion dollar income instead of buying private yacths etc. This is just another plot to win humanitarian awards from global activism. This is what these celebrities do especially this liar Beyonce. Its sad that her and I share the same virgo sign and numerology of the number 4.

@Theirthedevilschildren, girl, what does her money or what she buys on her own time have to do with this? This is not about Beyonce’s money, and she’s not trying to get money from anyone. She is asking that everyone does a good cause, whether it’s giving food to the less fortunate or giving clothes to a homeless shelter. You really did not watch the video. And what is wrong with her buying a yacht? Does it have to do with you at all? No, so TAKE A SEAT!

@Robert, Shut up punk! Are you on a payroll? Is Beyonce paying you to defend her on the blogs, if not take a stadium full of seats with your wack ass. Clearly you didn’t understand the point that I was trying to convey which is that most celebrities do not care for the cause they have been approached to speak on the behalf of. Most celebrities especially the billion dollar Beyonce only wants to make her persona one of humility in order to recieve recognition for their global activism.Is that clear enough for you Beyonce’s personal assistant?

@Theirthedevilschildren,
I think she alread donates money. I couldbe wrong…but even if she donates her entire income, it’s not going to solve as many problems in the world as if WE ALL do something for those less fortunate.
Some people don’t want a financial handout. Some people just want a little help standing on their own two feet.

@brainfood.com, I can agree brainfood and I respect you for how you came at me unlinke the bird ass mofo above you!I’m just saying that when celebrities do Public service Announcement it is only to eventually be recognized for their global activism not because they ginuinely care for the cause in which they been approached to support. It adds to their supposed humility.

@Theirthedevilschildren,
You know, to some extent I believe you. There’s always those shallow people who use public affairs to gain their own fame…and we’ll never know Beyonce’s intentions because it’s hard to get into people’s heads. But, if she says she’s doing it for a good cause, all I can do is either agree or disagree with her and behave accordingly. On another note, I really don’t need a celeb to tell me to do right by others, but that’s another conversation… And you’re welcome. It’s refreshing to be able to discuss opinions without coming to blows…not to many people appreciate that. THANK YOU for not assuming I was trying to start a fight.
