2002 (Junior): Played in all 14 games...started 13 at defensive tackle...a second-team all-WAC selection...amassed 72 tackles, first among defensive linemen and fourth on the team...recorded seven tackles for-a-loss (-17)...compiled a career-high nine tackles against SMU on Sept. 28...forced a fumble against SMU on Sept. 28...also had six quarterback hurries and a pass break-up.

2001:
Sat out in order to meet the year residency requirement for eligibility.

Prior to UH: 
Played two years at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif...was a two-time All-American for the Cougars...in his sophomore season, was named the national defensive player of the year and first-team all-state...recorded a national record 31 sacks that year...team won the Western State Conference championship both years...coached by Chuck Lyon.

Prep:
A 1999 graduate of Samoana High School in Pago Pago, American Samoa...lettered twice in football and basketball and once in baseball...as a senior, was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year...earned first-team all-league in his junior and senior seasons...member of the league championship team as a junior...coached by Moa Moa Vaeao.

Born in Pago Pago, American Samoa...also recruited by Texas A&M, Nebraska, Florida State, Washington State, and Kansas State...has four brothers and four sisters...also has a four-year-old daughter, Marcia...parents are Suitupe and Lagiselota Sopoaga of Pago Pago, American Samoa.
