EXCLUSIVE: Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning writer-director Stacy Sherman (God Sleeps In Rwanda) and producer Billy Ray (The Hunger Games) have cast their comedy-drama Claire’s Cambodia. Set to star in the film are Mary Kay Place (Smashed), Sarah Paulson (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Mamie Gummer (Taking Woodstock) and India Muenez (Something In The Air). Also in the cast are Bridesmaid‘s Wendi McLendon-Covey (who is also set to star in HBO’s Darren Starr vehicle Viagra Diaries) as well as Casey Wilson and Joe Lo Truglio.

Claire’s Cambodia revolves around three sisters whose estrangement, resentment and envy of one another is barely dented by the news that their father is terminally ill. Sherman told Deadline that Los Angeles will also be a character in the film, which begins shooting this summer, saying the city’s distinct neighborhood will characterize the sisters’ differences. “Los Angeles will illustrate those divisions in a comedic way,” she said. Sherman added that two male parts have yet to be filled. Producer Jakki Fink (Thirteen) is casting.

Place is repped by Gersh Agency, UTA and Kipperman Management handle Paulson, and CAA reps Gummer and Muenez (along with The Collective).
