Changchun's Ski Jumper Claims First Gold at National Winter Games
Teenage ski jumper Ma Tong of Changchun won the first gold medal at the 12th Chinese National Winter Games in the women's normal hill ski jumping on Wednesday.
Ma flied 73 meters in her first jump to take the lead in the K90 jumping event and further extended her advantage with a match-high 79m leap in the second round to seal the convincing victory.

The 18-year-old Ma scored a total of 151.5 points out of two jumps to stand out by an edge of 29 points ahead of teammate Li Xueyao who notched the silver with 122.5 point for the co-host city.
The bronze medal went to local jumper Liu Qi who summed up 108.5 points in the two-round competition.
The games, which opened on Tuesday evening and runs through Jan. 13, offers 115 gold medals for grabs in 12 disciplines of five sports, namely skating, skiing, biathlon, curling and ice hockey.
A total of 1,067 athletes of 43 delegations, including the teams from China's Hong Kong and Macao, will be competing in the 11-day games, with ice competitions being held in the provincial capital city of Changchun and skiing events in the Beidahu skiing resort in Jilin city.
