Meet Olympic Diver Greg Louganis and Actor Dawnn Lewis at the SoC

Join UM Star Alumni Olympic Gold Diver Greg Louganis and actor Dawnn Lewis (A Different World, CSI) in a discussion about “Working in Film, TV & Stage,”
3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. at the University of Miami Wolfson Building, 5100 Brunson Dr., room 2040, Coral Gables, FL. The discussion is free and open to all.

Louganis studied Theatre at UM in 1978. He won gold medals and set record scores in spring board and tower diving events at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. After testing positive for HIV in 1988, he recounted his story in a best-selling book Breaking the Surface, a New York Times Best Seller. His story was also documented in the 1996 Showtime movie Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story starring Mario Lopez. Louganis is also an actor who has been featured in TV and films.

Dawnn Lewis, B.M. ’82, is best known for her role as Jalessa in the hit 1990s TV sitcom, A Different World. Also a singer and theater actor, Lewis has appeared in Sister Act the Musical and the film adaption of Showgirls. In TV she has appeared inThe Secret Life of An American Teenager,” “One Tree Hill” and has an upcoming role in “CSI.”
