Sydney is a very green city – in more ways than one! The local area features some of the biggest and most iconic public spaces you’ll visit, from historic Hyde Park (dates back to the early 19th century) to the award-winning Paddington Reservoir Gardens, which has re-imagined and revitalised a former water source in a completely different way.

Below you’ll find a list of some of our favourite public parks that are sure to become a few of your new favourites too.

Alexandria Park	Buckland Street Alexandria NSW 2015	This park includes sports grounds, a playground, bike parking and toilets.
Centennial Parklands	Centennial Parklands Centennial Park NSW 2021	The 360 hectare area consists of Centennial Park, Moore Park and Queens Park.
Cook + Phillip Park	4 College Street Corner William Street Sydney NSW 2000	Cook + Phillip Park features plenty of lush grass and places to sit with bubblers nearby. The grass sections are off-leash areas at all times. Features a children's play area, basketball court and public art installations.
Glebe Foreshore Parks	Chapman Road Glebe NSW 2037	Nestled against the Glebe foreshore, these 4 parks make up more than 17 hectares of open grasslands, sports fields, adventure playgrounds, wetlands and off-leash areas.
Hyde Park	Elizabeth Street Sydney NSW 2000	Australia's oldest park is divided by Park Street. Public facilities include toilets, cafés, and bike parking. Well serviced by bus and rail links.
Observatory Hill Park	Upper Fort Street Sydney NSW 2000	Panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge. Public toilets available.
Paddington Reservoir Gardens	251-255 Oxford Street Paddington NSW 2021	Opened in 2009, this public space is within a former underground reservoir. Includes a fish pond, lawns, gardens and shaded seating.
Pirrama Park	Pirrama Road Pyrmont NSW 2009	Includes the land formerly known as Pyrmont Point Park. Pirrama Park is built on the former water police site.
Prince Alfred Park	Chalmers Street Surry Hills NSW 2010	More than 7.5. hectares of open space which includes a tennis centre and children's playground.
Redfern Park and Oval	Redfern Street Redfern NSW 2016	Redfern Park and the adjoining Redfern Oval received a major upgrade in 2007. The park is a popular venue for Aboriginal peoples' political and cultural events. It contains a naturally shaded playground, a barbecue area and the grandstand and sports field at the Oval provide training facilities for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Sydney Park	Sydney Park Road St Peters NSW 2044	The former brickworks site is now 40 rolling hectares of open parkland. Includes a sports oval, the Community and Road Education Scheme (CARES) centre, large children's playground and scenic wetlands.
Tumbalong Park	Darling Harbour Sydney NSW 2000	Five hectares of open space located within Darling Harbour. Contains water features, landscaped gardens, grassed amphitheatre, children's playground and the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
Victoria Park	Parramatta Road Broadway NSW 2008	Adjacent to the University of Sydney, this is a 9 hectare park. It boasts extensive grassed areas, a children's playground and the serene Lake Northram.
Wentworth Park	Wentworth Park Road Ultimo NSW 2007	This popular park provides 4 floodlit sports fields, practice cricket nets and shaded playground.
