A man died after being shot multiple times while he was with a large group of people shortly after midnight in southwest Atlanta. So far, police don’t know who shot the man or why.
And the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 25-year-old Jamarius Pennyman.
The shooting happened around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday in the courtyard of the Central Methodist Apartments at 320 Fairburn Road, according to Atlanta police. Investigators believe the victim was with a large group when he was shot, Capt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2 Action News.
“We don’t believe that any of them were involved,” Capt. Guerrucci said.
Toddler Found Wandering Outside While Mom Sleeps
A 3-year-old Bibb County boy was found wandering around an apartment complex while his mom was fast asleep and officials have called in the Division of Family and Children Services to help investigate what happened.
Deputies learned of the wandering toddler around 9 a.m. when someone called 911 to report that the child was found wandering outside the Reese Chiropractic Center at 4671 Mercer University Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said little Nathan Ward had unlocked the door to the apartment he lives in at Pinewood Park Apartments at 4755 Mercer University Drive and wondered outside. He lives at the apartments with his mother, 32-year-old Jessica Ward, the sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Sean DeFoe said. It was reported that the mother was at home at the time of the incident, asleep.
So far, no charges have been filed, but officials said the incident is still under investigation.
