From the desk of Lisa Brooks

Thanks to our great board, led by Mike Haney—we can celebrate a strong year in which we raised 62% more than in the previous year, despite a challenging economy. It’s been a time filled with vision, determination, hard work, and SUCCESS. Great thanks go to Mike’s leadership of our hard-working, dedicated board. They, along with the Foundation and college staff and faculty, are committed to the challenge of educating the next generation and making sure there is a place for those seeking post secondary opportunities in our region.

We are excited about working with Dr. David Viar, our new Superintendent/President. He brings a wealth of experience, and really understands fundraising.

We have many things to celebrate, including:

• Three great new Board members
• A generous grant from Wells Fargo, thanks to help from board member Liz Chai-Chang
• First Veterans' grant to help our Student Veterans
• An exciting new partnership with Lexus of Glendale who, along with Manny Mashoud and all our Golf Sponsors helped to make this our most successful Golf Tournament in five years that included an online auction, a car wash program, and a Pebble Beach package donated by Lexus.
• A growing President’s Circle who give $1,000 or more each year. This year we were able to fund campus grants for a music classroom upgrade as well as help for the following departments: Biology, Health/PE, Visual and Performing Arts (including Ceramics, Music and Theatre) and the student veterans.
