Denmark and the Treaty of Lisbon

Denmark has ratified the Treaty of Lisbon through the passing of a regular bill in the Danish Parliament, the Folketing, 24 April 2008 and the signing of the bill by the Danish Head of State Queen Margrethe II.

Denmark ratified the Treaty of Lisbon in accordance with section 19 in the Danish Constitution (international agreements can only be entered into with the consent of the Parliament).

The ratification bill was passed 24 April 2008 in the parliament by a majority of 90 votes for, 25 against and no abstentions.
