We're Back! Big News

Hello again! After a very long absence I am back with a lot of news. I have not sold my business. With the economy and the book industry the way it is today, I wasn't able to find anyone who wanted to take it on.

So...we are continuing operations and actively bringing in new items onto our website at www.budsartbooks.com. We are also sending out, each and every Friday afternoon, an email newsletter--we call it the email blast. I write it myself, talking about the new books for the week that I'm most excited about. We feature several, and link you to all the new arrivals. Sign up under "Email Special" at the top of our home page. We only need your email.

We also feature specials, such as free shipping with orders $39.95 or more. Our latest one expires April 10...use "WC12" code in your shopping cart, or mention it in your comments field. We've also been giving away free books, up to four depending on your order size: Rich Corben's DenSaga, Flock of Dreamers with R. Crumb, Dr. Watchstop, and Liberatore's Women--published at $25! You get one book for any order, two for $40, three for $60, and all four (or any combination) for a $100 order.

We've been offering a free photo with two Bettie Page books we brought back in, both by Jim Silke: Bettie Page Rules! and Bettie Page: Queen of Hearts.

I've also been dropping prices on many older items, and new items above $20 or so are mostly listed at discounts, up to 25% off, from the get-go. For instance, the
Linkpopular Wally Wood's Strange Worlds is discounted $5 from $24.95 to $21.99. Marvel and DC Archives, Creepy and Eerie Archives, and Dark Horse Archives are all 20% to 25% off.

We also are bringing in new sketchbooks and signed books. Art of Doug Sneyd, the Eisner-nominated collection by the much-loved Playboy artist, now comes with a signed bookplate. We also have new sketchbooks by Terry Dodson, Terry Moore, Robert Silver, Doug Sneyd, Mark Schultz and many others. The award-winning Art of Bruce Timm is still available from us in its first printing; it's sold out and back at press with the publisher.
This week we have two cool new H.P. Lovecraft items, a new graphic novel and a wonderful map of HPL's fantasy lands, called "The Lands of Dream." I'm also finding some cool old items, such as a Harvey Comics bound volume of comics from 1951. We continue to stock the new releases of Doc Savage, The Shadow, The Spider and The Lone Ranger pulp reprints, which are some of our most popular items.

So...a lot is going on here as we change from producing catalogs to giving you up-to-the-minute emails and website postings.

We are going to post each weekly email into this blog so that customers have a place to go back and get updated. I'll also try to add personal notes here as things come up between postings.

We convinced a lot of people that we were going out of business, which I say with some regret now that we have changed our plans. We've downsized, but we are carrying on in our 43rd year, with my son coming on board and my renewed interest in digging up cool and unusual books for your approval.

Very Best,
Bud
