…soap couples who shouldn’t work but do!

Take Sally and Tim in Corrie for example: we love Sal, don’t get us wrong, but individually neither her nor Tim are ground-breaking characters. But put them together and they’re brilliant! Sally’s little love notes for Tim while she’d lost her voice recently were hilarious. He might not have been able to read them – but Mr Sweet Lips made us chuckle!
Then there’s the budding romance between Dev and Julie. We can’t help but want them to get together – with their romantic dates at the gym and wine after babysitting duties… All we need is for annoying Mary to butt the hell out!
Another couple on our list is Emmerdale’s Kirin and Vanessa. He’s half her age and she’s supposed to fancy women, but somehow their romance works. We love that everyone’s trying to split them up but they’re just having fun and not letting anything get in their way. It’s like a breath of fresh air amidst the angsty Dales drama – let’s hope it lasts!
Down under in Oz we love Naomi and Josh together. On paper, they’re total opposites – she loves rich, married men, and he’s a high-school dropout with barely a penny to his name. But we love their hilarious secret hook-ups, especially when they end with Josh dashing naked across Ramsay Street! Who do you secretly love together but shouldn’t? Let us know @allaboutsoapmag!
