  Gawd, Family Guy is a beast. It’s weird how they cable-rerun similarly but Bang so dwarfs it in originals.

  No H50. Not at this new time and not later at night like earlier. Next week, TNT is trying it on different nights of the week. I guess they are looking to see if they can find a place for it to have more viewers. If I paid what TNT did, I would try it all over the place also to see where it would be most effective.

  Wow, only 1.3 million viewers for Blackfish? A LOT of people missed out. One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, absolutely heart-rending.

  White collar already renewed internally just no announcement yet. Still good numbers for toughest spot of week although Bomer has so much being offered to him he will move on quickly.

  Covert Affairs and White Collar … uhhhh … speechless. I had to come back and re-check those numbers a couple times because I felt like I must’ve seen something wrong or missed something the first time. Those CA numbers are literally what a rerun on another night would normally get. And look at L&O SVU doing just fine up there at 8pm. The EFF!?

  Given that there is football, playoff baseball, etc. (plus network shows like Grey’s) I’m not surprised numbers for cable originals numbers are down. As far as SVU goes, 8pm is a lot less competitive than 9 or 10. I think it really depends on what the network’s expectations are You can’t necessarily compare ratings from a prior year, or even from one day to another. I remember last year or the year before, Royal Pains was winning it’s night, but the raw numbers were really not that different than Covert Affairs or White Collar (which were on a more competitive day). So it comes down to what the expectation is (and also apparently on numbers we don’t see, at least according to network folks like USA’s Ted Linhart). I’m not saying the numbers are “good,” just that I have no idea how they compare to what the people who make decisions were expecting.

  Randy, u cannot blame TNT for trying after all the cash they are paying, OMG. But they should know you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
  H50 is alive thanks to TNT. And TNT is the biggest loser here.

  How many seasons did TNT commit to buying? As many as CBS can produce? I wonder if CBS/TNT will renegotiate in order to build that inventory. CBS probably should’ve kicked TM since it’s WB produced and kept CSI:NY, which still does decent demos even in late night slot. Plus, it’s a much better show.

  Extremely unlikely White Collar will be renewed, esp with these ratings. It had its season cut by three episodes mid-filming, and the showrunner/creator also stepped aside so he could work on Graceland. You’re making stuff up Will.

  Covert Affairs was renewed because it is a NBCU show and they are trying to build enough episodes to make it easier to sell for syndication. White Collar is from Fox Television so there’s no incentive for NBCU to keep it on the air.
