I was fortunate enough to get to see these guys in Boulder, Colorado with Jamestown Revival. WOW, what a great show. I had not heard of them before and did a little recon before the show. I was pretty excited to see them as the video stuff was great. The show was fantastic, they were amazing live. I love the CD as well. My husband says it might be a little too polished compared to live but he likes it too. I can't get enough and every time I listen I like it more. Not one song I skip on the CD. Really looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!

Discovered them on Spotify's New Music Tuesday about an hour ago. Promptly stopped what I was doing to listen closely and then began this album from the start, listening all the way to the end. Loved every bit of it. Patricia Lynn has a beautiful voice reminiscent of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir of Of Monsters and Men.

Love The Wind and The Wave!

I love the wind and the wave, and this cd did not disappoint! I had preordered it weeks in advance, and it arrived one Tuesday it was released. It is a cardboard cover with plastic insert the cd snaps into. I just got an email from the band that if you send them the case and a self addressed stamped envelope that the will sign it and send it back. One of the cool perks of discovering a band when they are young probably! If you are one the fence because you only know one or two of their songs, you will not be disappointed, most of them are great!

Here a duo, there a duo.

There are several boy/girl (husband/wife) duos these days. Patricia Lynn and Dwight Baker of "The Wind & the Wave" are among the best I've heard. These tunes are full of melody and amazingly insightful lyrics. The use of strong percussion-beats on nearly every song is pure delight considering today's main-stream music. I cannot stop making a comparison with a super South Carolina duo, "Shovels and Rope" (Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent). Although "The Wind & The Wave" is not as down-home gritty as "S&R;", this is an album with depth and meaning. If you like it a lot, then check out the album "Swimmin' Time" by "S&R;".

A solid album, and worth the purchase if your into the "folksy, alt-country, low-fi rock" side of music. I've given it a listen several times, and it will remain in my music rotation. All that said, while the album is a good listen it's not the kind of album that your going to fall head over heels in love with, hence the 4/5 stars.

Also, I noticed some of the other reviews mentioning being turned off by the mature lyrics. Which is silly given that the title of the album has "Explicit" written right there. If you can't handle a bit of swearing then don't buy explicit albums.

MUST get!!!

Oh my gosh, this group is REALLY good. I heard them last night (for the very first time) when they were touring with another artist. They really did ruin it for the artist coming after them. :P She sounds SO good live. I'm so happy I got their vinyl album, which has the card/code inside for digital download.
