Arapahoe County-based CSG Systems Inc. has agreed to purchase the customer care and billing division of Lucent Technologies for $300 million in a deal that will expand CSG's employee base by about 65 percent.
The straight-cash transaction will also increase CSG's revenues in 2002 by a projected minimum of 38 percent, the company said in its announcement Saturday.
CSG Chairman Neal Hansen said the company had been negotiating the deal for several months, and CSG's emphasis on provisioning domestic cable and broadband customers will complement the Lucent division's emphasis on software solutions for international wireless and wireline telephony customers. …
