All-action midfielder Lansbury built on a promising first season at The City Ground with an impressive 2013-14 campaign.
Sadly, his progress was halted by a back injury he sustained in February which ruled him out of all but three of The Reds' remaining games as they missed out on a playoff place.
Lansbury joined from Arsenal in August 2012, marking the end of a lengthy spell with The Gunners, who he joined from Norwich City as a child in 1999.
After having his appetite whetted in a number of League Cup games for Arsenal, Lansbury joined League One side Scunthorpe United for the second half of the 2008-09 season, scoring four times.
He spent the following season on loan at Championship side Watford but returned to Arsenal in time to make his Premier League debut, replacing Theo Walcott in Arsenal's final day demolition of Fulham.
His career gathered momentum in 2010-11, when he scored his first professional goal against rivals Tottenham in a League Cup match, before he earned a call up to Arsenal's Champions League squad for their game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
He spent the second part of the season on loan at Norwich City and helped them to promotion to the Premier League. He won a second successive promotion the following year, this time on loan at West Ham who went up via the play-offs.
Lansbury achieved cult hero status at Upton Park when he took his place between the sticks to replace the red-carded Rob Green away at Blackpool. The midfielder went on to keep a clean sheet as The Hammers won 4-1.
