Shawn Evans (born April 28th, 1986 in Peterborough Ontario) is a Canadian lacrosse player who plays for the Calgary Roughnecks in the National Lacrosse League. Evans was voted the #1 Player in the World in Box Lacrosse by Ilindoor in 2013. In 2013 Evans also won the MVP in both the NLL and MSL and was also the leading scorer in both the NLL and the MSL.Evans is the only player in lacrosse history to win the Minto Cup, the Mann Cup, and the NLL Championships Cup all within 12 months of each other. He is also only one of two lacrosse players in history to win 2 Minto Cups in back to back seasons with two different junior teams. During his seven year tenure with the Peterborough Lakers and Six Nations Arrows, Evans has scored 199 goals and 462 points. He finished his junior playoff career with 71 goals and 194 points. Evans currently sits 29th all time in Canadian Junior A lacrosse history with 656 points. After his 2005 season with the Lakers, Evans was offered a full lacrosse scholarship to Bellarmine University. He finished the season as the top freshman scorer with 74 points. In 2006 Evans opted into the NLL Draft where he was selected 2nd overall to the Rochester Knighthawks. Evans played 5 full seasons with the Knighthawks, winning 1 NLL Championship in 2007. Evans is entering his fourth full season with the Calgary Roughnecks. Evans is prepared to use the knowledge he has gained over the years to develop younger lacrosse players and help them get a chance to make it to the next level.
