Linux International, also known as LI, is a world-wide non-profit association of end users who are dedicated to furthering the acceptance and use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). An end-user is defined as a person that uses FOSS in their daily life. Linux International is not a vendor organization, so while it may have sponsoring bodies who are corporations or companies, voting membership is limited to individuals, and individual representatives of international chapters and international affiliates.

Linux International Announces A New Direction

Linux International, a vendor organization since 1994 which has helped to promote the Linux Operating System, announces their new charter of being an end-user organization for Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

This transformation is still underway, and this web site will be changing and expanding rapidly to embrace this new mission. Therefore potential users should be warned that accounts created before or during this time period might disappear.
