On Monday afternoon, UFC officials announced the booking of a flyweight contest between Henry Cejudo and ‘Jussier’ Formiga for the TUF Latin America 2 Finale in November.

A 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist, Cejudo (9-0), at just 21, became the youngest wrestler in U.S. history to come out on top of the Olympic games when he defeated Japan’s Tomohiro Matsunaga in Beijing. Since retiring from amateur wrestling in 2012, the Phoenix based fighter emerged as one of the most promising prospects in all of mixed martial arts.

In hist most recent bout, ‘The Messenger’ saw his hand raised after earning a decision over Rufoussport product Chico Camus at UFC 188 in Mexico City. This marked his fifth straight decision win, and third under the UFC banner.

Formiga (18-3), a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist, will be looking to make it four straight wins in the UFC after scoring. In his most recent contest, the Nova Uniao earned a decisoin over Wilson Reis at UFC Fight Night 67. This marked his second straight bout to reach the judges scorecard afte coming out victories over Zach Mackovsky at UFC Fight Night 47 in August. He enters the bout with a UFC record of 4-2.

The TUF Latin America 2 Finale is set to take place at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. A welterweight contest between TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum and Matt Brown will serve as the main event.
