Two Footballers En Route To Away Game Named As Victims Of Shoreham Crash

Two footballers have been named as victims of the horrific Shoreham Airshow plane crash.

Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt have both been named locally as two more victims of the Hawker Hunter plane crash yesterday.fiitBoth young men played for Worthing United FC. Matthew played in goal while Jacob was a midfielder. According to sources, Matthew and Jacob were heading to an away match against Loxwood. The game was subsequently called off.

Club chairman Steve Taylor said the club is absolutely devastated by the loss of two of their players.

Steve did not wish to confirm at present the identities of his players who were described as “absolute gents” by a friend. The chairman said: “We are devastated to be honest. All we can say is we have two players unaccounted for following the air crash but as yet no families have been informed.”

Naomi Cole, who plays for Millwall Lionesses, has revealed how she grew up with Jacob Schilt. Posting a statement on her Twitter account, the England Under-23 star also revealed how she was on the A27 just before the crash:sadThe Shoreham Airshow has been cancelled today after the horrific crash yesterday that claimed the lives of at least seven people.

Police are warning that there may be more bodies found today as the investigation continues. The pilot is in a critical condition in hospital.
