Jewish human rights group, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, has taken the hammer to British rock musician and anti-Israel activist Roger Waters after a giant pig shaped balloon emblazoned with a Star of David was released into the sky at a July 18th concert in Belgium.

“With this disgusting display Roger Waters has made it crystal clear. Forget Israel, never mind ‘limited boycotts promoting Middle East Peace.’ Waters  is an open hater of Jews,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the center in an email to The Algemeiner.

“The video is beyond shocking. The only books this bigot should be getting should be with the Mullahs in Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood,” Cooper added.

“I came to the concert because I really like his music, without any connection to his political stance toward Israel,” Alon Onfus Asif, an Israeli living in Belgium told Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot. “And I had a lot of fun, until I noticed the Star of David, on the inflatable pig. That was the only religious-national symbol which appeared among other symbols for fascism, dictatorships and oppression of people. Waters crossed the line and gave expression to an anti-Semitic message, beyond all his messages of anti-militancy.”

“Rogers’ concert took place as part of the music festival in the city of Werchter, and it opened his European tour. Next to the Star of David, on the wild pig balloon, there was also a sign of oil conglomerate Shell, and a graffiti message stating, ‘Everything will be okay, just keep consuming,’ and ‘What’s wrong with people?'” Yediot reported further, calling the incident “a blatantly anti-Semitic display.”

The pig’s hind quarters appear to feature a silhouette of a man giving a Nazi salute.

“The Simon Wiesenthal Center urges other entertainers to denounce his anti-Semitism and bigotry,” Cooper concluded, calling on others to similarly respond to the offensive imagery.

Another Jewish watchdog, the Anti Defamation League which criticized Waters in 2010 for “using imagery long associated with stereotypes about Jews and money as part of a segment of his 2010-2011 ‘The Wall Live’ Tour,” said that Waters’ pig was old news and in context was not anti-Semitic.

“This is the same thing he’s been doing for years,” said Todd Gutnick, Director of Media Relations. “We believe there’s no anti-Semitic intent here in the use of the Star of David symbol.”

“The song is ‘Run Like Hell’  from Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall.’ The song is written from the point of view of the anti-hero, ‘Pink,’ during a hallucination in which he becomes a fascist dictator and turns a concert audience into an angry mob. True to form, Waters appears dressed for the part. It is a concert tradition going back years that during this song an inflatable pig is released into the air. For this most recent tour, the pig appears to have numerous symbols, including a hammer, dollar signs, and sickle and a small Star of David,” Gutnick explained.

“In the film version of “The Wall,” the mob raids and destroys the homes of Black and Jewish people, so the use of the Jewish and other symbols on the pig is consistent with the lyrics of the song,” he concluded.

The inflatable pig is a staple at Waters’ concerts, and has taken on different shapes and forms over the years. The Algemeiner was unable to immediately confirm if the pig has appeared before in this precise form.

Waters is well known as a vocal activist in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel and accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing,” “apartheid” and “international crimes” in a November 2012 address at the United Nations. Last fall he was also at the forefront of efforts to boycott an Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

El Al Israel Airlines recently canceled a promotional package that appeared on its website for an August Roger Waters concert.

At the time of publication no reply was received to The Algemeiner’s request for comment via Waters’ website.

Nobody has read all comments. For one, Impossible. Also image is optical illusion

  • Now if you jews stopped mutilating babies genitals and looking so conceited and smug the rest of the world wouldn’t despise the very thought of you – as much as we all do – Now wouldn’t the world be such a nicer place with all you religious type wiped off of the face of it! Just sayin’

    • Well, I call that BS.
Male circumcision is practiced by many people in the world, by billions of muslims, yet you have only problem with Jews here?
Male circumcision was practiced in US (and still practiced) by many people with no connection to islam or judaism religions.
Islamic followers are practicing female circumcision, which is barbaric act, and yet you said nothing about it.
World will be a nicer place, if some people would think, before talking racist trash like you.
      Just replyin’

I do not see Roger Water’s own response included in the comments here. I do see a lot of hatred. Hopefully those that have shown so much spite in this forum will read Roger’s thoughts and reflect. Perhaps even consider an apology to one of the great artists of our age.

Direct transcript of Roger Water’s Open Letter.. August 1, 2013

    Dear Rabbi Cooper,

I hold your outburst to be inflammatory and un-helpful and would suggest it can only impede progress towards peace and understanding between people. It is also extremely insulting to me personally in that you accuse me of being ‘Anti Semitic’, ‘A Jew Hater’ and ‘Nazi Sympathizer’

I have three specific points to make:

1). Your use of the adjective “ANTI-SEMITIC”.

First I direct you to an announcement by ‘The Anti Defamation League’ an American organization, who’s declared aim is to defend Jewish people and Judaism from attack. They recently said.

“While we wish that Mr. Waters would have avoided using the Star of David, we believe there is no anti-Semitic intent here.”

I should point out that in the show, I also use the Crucifix, the Crescent and Star, the Hammer and Sickle, the Shell Oil Logo and The McDonald’s Sign, a Dollar Sign and a Mercedes sign.

2). JEW-HATING? I have many very close Jewish friends, one of whom, interestingly enough, is the nephew of the late Simon Wiesenthal. I am proud of that association; Simon Wiesenthal was a great man. Also I have two grandsons who, I love more than life itself, their Mother, my daughter in law, is Jewish and so, in consequence, I’m told, are they.

3). NAZI? Not only did my father, 2nd Lieutenant Eric Fletcher Waters, die in Italy on February 18th 1944 fighting the Nazis, but I was brought up in post war England where I received the most thorough education on the subject of Nazism and where I was spared no horrific detail of the heinous crimes committed in the name of that most foul ideology. I remember my mother’s friends Claudette and Maria, I remember their tattoos, they where survivors, two of the lucky ones.

My Mother spent the whole of the rest of her life, involved politically to make sure the future for her children and grandchildren, in fact for everyone’s children and grandchildren, black, white, Gentile, Jew, Latino, Asian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, et al, had no Sword of Damocles in the form of the despised Nazi Creed hanging over their heads.

I for my part, as best I can, have continued along my parent’s path. At the age of nearly 70, in the spirit of my Father and Mother and all they did, I have stood my ground, as best I can, in defense of Mistress Liberty.

The Wall Show, so lamely attacked by you, is many things. It is thoughtful, life affirming, ecumenical, humane, loving, anti war, anti colonial, pro universal access to the law, pro liberty, pro collaboration, pro dialogue, pro peace, anti authoritarian, anti fascist, anti apartheid, anti dogma, international in spirit, musical and satirical.

    It is not.

    ANTI-SEMITIC or PRO NAZI

I have often come under attack by the pro Israel lobby because of my support for BDS, (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) which I won’t go into here, anyone interested can access a speech I made at The United Nations on the 29th November last year.

However I will say this, in a functioning theocracy it is almost inevitable that the symbol of the religion becomes confused with the symbol of the state, in this case the State of Israel, a state that operates Apartheid both within its own borders and also in the territories it has occupied and colonized since 1967.

Like it or not, the Star of David represents Israel and its policies and is legitimately subject to any and all forms of non violent protest. To peacefully protest against Israel’s racist domestic and foreign policies is NOT ANTI-SEMITIC. Your contention that because I criticize the Policies of the Israeli government I should be lumped in with the Muslim Brotherhood is risible, and again a personal affront. I have spent my whole adult life advocating separation of church and state.

At every Wall Show I invite 20 vets from whatever country we are in backstage at half time to meet, exchange handshakes and good wishes and mementos. At one show, a year or so ago, an older vet, Vietnam era, at a guess, blocked my exit, he put out his hand which I took, he did not let go, he looked me in the eyes and he said ” Your Father would be proud of you.”

    Tears burn my eyes.

The Wall is reaching out to you and all the other Rabbi Cooper’s out there.

    Come to the show!

    Love

    Roger

    P.S.

For the sake of some perspective. The inflatable pig that so offended young Alon has appeared at every Wall Show since September 2010, some 193 shows, yours is the first complaint. Also the pig in question represents evil, and more specifically the evil of errant government. We make a gift of this symbol of repression to the audience at the end of every show and the people always do the right thing. They destroy it.

    • We’re all quite capable of forming our own opinions and have every right to voice them – unlike Roger the rest of us don’t need to hold back when pouring scorn on the filthy lies and violence we see the jews causing and apparently relishing in – what a sick and twisted bunch of self-deluded religious scumbags when they’ve proven themselves to be the violent filth of humanity!

  • Dear Roger, I have been your fun almost a decade and idolising you. Have been searching internet even what you eat to become more close to your views. It was during mid 90s. While listening to Amused to Death. Even with my english as you see for now I have never understood real meaning of name on this album. Furthermore now in days since May 2006 I have found it how strong it is name of that album so amusing to listen and to worship (evil for me now). Well You might say I am fool or not see clear, my opinion is that after all these years you have and not so small number, God bless every day of your life, I see that I was fool for years. Really. I have been on your side even for Pink Floyd article. Now that is past. Even you have been in my town here in Split, Croatia last summer. My desire to went to concert was zero, nada. Even my uncle from whom I have first time heard Floyds in 80s was amused so much with this concert and went for it. Even tickets was so affordable, even you have welcomed veterans of Croatian war of which you might know something but that is not enough to be on one side. Now why I write these to you, is of course Star of David. You might be in war with Israel with your opinion for some reason or so. I even dont belong to Israel side either because I am croatian and looking back in my origin it would be a pain to get know my real roots and to realize to be a part of that Gods nation, but trough Lord Jesus Christ now I am. I am if you ask me messianic Jew in my root in bottom of heart trough blood of Jesus of Nazareth. Well I am as you see only on His side. I have been in investigation for Hitler mind and even vegetarian for years like him, small painter from side of evil until I found total peace in my heart and mind dvelling in Jesus mind. Reading Nietzche’s Antichrist in that time and listening to your music. That was real worshiping of satan, but Jesus knew His way to reach me in my bedroom while I was struggling alone in my bed almost to die without air. Well Star of David is theme. I have to say that you have to reach Star of David in your heart to get realizing number 7 of it. 7 is for love there. 7 days of week and you might know more of 7 number and letter in Hebrew. But all I want to say is this: Knee on your kneels and Pray. Pray for Peace in your heart. Pray for Peace of Jerusalem, City of Our God. Jerusalem which have to come like from the end of Holy Word, Bible. Repent. Say your sins to Lord, and God promise to you, you will never cry for what has Hitler did to you and your father. Forgive. And meet Jesus here on earth, and than your talent would be countless remembered and written in Gods Book of Life and you will see River of Life and Tree of Life and Fortune of Eternal Life will bliss you. Beloved brother, I am telling you these in peace and trully as your friend not from the other side of Wall, as I have jumped over wall and I am with you now. May Lord Jesus be with you forever and ever. Yors truly Danijel Krstulovic.

  • Dear Mr. Waters:
Your views are completely one sided. The Star of David des represent the Jewish people and State of Israel, but then again so does the flag of Saudi Arabia. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is also a country that woman have no rights, you will not find any religion freedom in KSA and infect you are not permitted to build a church or synagogue or any other religion center other Muslim in KSA. But I am sure you already know that. Since you are such a freedom fighter and you want to stand against apartheid nations such as Israel and perhaps Saudi Arabia, and since you are so pro people’s freedom, why don’t you next time display the flag of Saudi Arabia next to the Star of David. But then again, we all know you will never do that, because no Jew ever killed another person for using the Star of David for their political views, however the moment that flag or in other word what that flag represents would go on your pig, your life as you knew it will be over. I think you get my point. Good luck to you sir.

  • Or you could all just realise that if you stopped fighting, saying that this is my land, this is my faith and it is better than yours, stopped listening to religious leaders who all mis-interpret religious texts for their own benefit, stop listening to all political leaders, who subjugate their electorate, and actually started listening, speaking to and understanding other people, we might have a world that doesn’t seem ready to tear itself apart.

Think for your self and stop letting religion think for you.

    • I’m hoping, wishing, i dunno, praying that this will happen someday… That religions will stop being an excuse for hate and fights, ant they will be the thing that they are, just a guide to make us not feel alone in this world…

I hope I get to see a glimpse of that day in my lifetime.

  • Who cares. Waters is shit without Gilmour.

    • You think?
Gilmore is no one without Waters

      • If by no one you mean guitarist extraordinaire then yes he is. No doubt they were best together but at least Gilmour is still able to create good music. Roger’s solo shite is just that. Shite.

        • it’s kinda funny then how pink floyd died after rodger water let it. with out gilmore’s guitar rodgers music would have been shit, but with out rogers trippy sound gilmore would have been noothing. and the whole thing would have been shit with out richard wright and nick mason all 4 of the wouldn’t have been as good with out eachother.

btw rodger water did for psychedelic music what the Beatles did for rock and roll. david gilmore just played guitar.

  • The United States government: greed, not respect for human life, beyond religion they adore dollar,(they serve the bankers and Federal Reserve) and sadly, government of Israel is an allied,in the wisdom of jewish mystisism I propose an orgy between jews and palestinians, ala Romeo and Juliet: love unite the haters.

  • As an animal rights activist, I hereby protest against the use of a pig as a symbol of evil.

Pigs are smart animals with highly social behavior who clean themselves regularly and are by no means dirty, let alone dirtier than other animals. They do not kill and oppress other of their kind and have not thoughts of hatred and massacring others just because of their color, or way of squeaking.

So it is truly un-justified to use a pig as a symbol of evil, and that goes to everyone, including you, Jews and you, Roger Waters.

  • This article and these comments have convinced me that it is unethical for me to support Israel anymore and the charge of antisemitism is too often a vapid misnomer meant to crush reasonable dialogue regardless of whether the charge is true or not. Israel, once the oppressed, has become the oppressor.

Next Tuesday I will have my lawyers take action to stop the six-figure annual endowment that my family and I have been donating to the the Jewish Endowment Fund and transfer that endowment to the International Solidarity Movement.

    • Stick your money where the sun doesn’t shine (or in your mouth – same thing here), how weak-minded you must be. Obviously looking for an excuse to stop donating. We do not need your filthy money.

      • Impressive, measured, “grapes are sour”-type response. Are you that pig-headed that you couldn’t formulate a reasonable rebuttal to the gentleman’s comment about ceasing his family’s contribution? Did you ask yourself, what would motivate a person to contribute to a cause, and what would compel that same person to withhold his significant contribution? The JEF were apparently quite okay with his “filthy money” so far.

      • The problem is that none of you understand satire. The Wall is a story, and also one of, if not the best, Albums ever written. And until you can write something that is just as brilliant and daring as The Wall, you should go back to what you do best: Telling everyone that doesn’t believe as you do how wrong and lost they are.

    • Good move, man, good move.

    • Awesome maybe you should invest in human rights are perhaps by a home in Syria and find yourself some solidarity. You think the Jews want your money ? Buy some food and explosive devices for all the extremists in the Middle East. MFS = MORONS FOR SOLIDARITY

  • Judi’s mother f***s, mouses killers
    Asesinos en nombre del locausto!!

  • Ah come on! It’s not that hard to get what Waters want to say with these symbols. He is far not anti semitic.

  • Viktor Ericsson

“And I had a lot of fun, until I noticed the Star of David, on the inflatable pig. That was the only religious-national symbol which appeared among other symbols for fascism, dictatorships and oppression of people. ”

You didn’t notice the crucifix? You shouldn’t lie so it’s fits your own opinions.

  • Is the real question here -the right to challenge- Stop! think! and challenge your own beleifs and value systems.
Can’t wait to be confortably numbed at the Wembley concert!

    • Dear Roger Waters
Your show is a stunning sceptical to see!
However, you have two pictures up, one of an Arab kid
on one side of the wall and one of a Jewish kid on the other.
      I have a real problem
now it has become very political. You began this concert when the wall in Germany was taken down,
what an amazing night that must of been. I can only imagine that thinking about how touring can help people
open their minds and want to take down the walls being built to separate countries.
The problem is you are bias.
Where are the pictures of the wall separating Mexico and the United States?
I almost got sucked into the naive thought process when I think of how sad it is that Israel has to build
so many walls… so sad that she is surrounded by people that want to annihilate her, everyday. Day after day having
rockets thrown at you -that not even a wall can stop (and they are lucky if the iron dome does.) Everyday suicide bombers
stopped at check points, pieces of cinder blocks being thrown at innocent civilians, fires being started,
have you heard of the massacre in Itamar???
In other words some walls are necessary in this day in age. Some people do not want peace and have clearly
announced they do not believe in a two State solution, in any solution…
they name streets after murders that have killed innocent people, all in the name of Allah.
You can not show a picture of an Arab child that if from Islamic parents that (yes it could be a friendly Muslim)
is taught to hate and the idea of going to heaven while killing people is praised and compare it to a Jewish child
(there is no sect of Judaism that teaches to hate anyone or anything)
that is taught to value life and love and respect one anther…
the funniest part is that you picked a Jewish kid that is obviously very religious. They do not even serve in
      the army.
One more thing… you have pictures up of fallen soldiers in which I found so touching and great to honor
these brave warriors but yet, then I realized not one is from Israel, if that does not
speak volumes what does? You should look at your sales from Israel. Israeli’s love your work,
yet you cast them behind your bias WALL- bring down your Wall.

      • Yes, yes. Let us make an already big spectacle into a GIANT spectacle that would cost double, even triple to make! Let us not have some criteria and think of this as an universal representation of every wall, hypothetical or not, erected to separate states, both of mind and of territory!
Hey, Waters! I noticed there was no mexican soldier in your memorial segment! Why is that?! Are you neglecting my country!? After all the lighter-wave love we’ve given to you?! And what about FRENCH soldiers?! What about CROATIAN soldiers! OH DEAR LORD! THERE IS AN ALASKAN SOLDIER THAT YOU DID NOT INCLUDE!!!!
Are we going to play this game, people? Are we going to whine about our country not being here or there? This was a big show, it was a great show, too, and it made us all reflect on the state of things nowadays. Still, people find HOW to whine and pout about all of this. Oh, look! there is a brick with a stereotypical american man! Waters should BURN because of his pro-stereotyping! Hey! There is a single brick in “the last few bricks” that has a 3×3 pixel swastika! Let us not mind that he HATES nazis to the very core of his soul! HEY! LET US BIAS THE HECK OUT OF THE SHOW ACCORDING TO OUR RELIGION AND WHINE INCESSANTLY ABOUT HOW ACCORDING TO OUR RELIGION, YOU CAN’T DO THIS OR THAT, COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT ABOUT ACCEPTANCE AND CONVIVENCE!!!!
People like this make me sick. I’m actually puking a little inside my mouth… yet, what is there to do?

      • No. The Wall was released in 1979 and the 1st tour followed in 1980. Get your facts right before criticizing something you have no understanding of.

      • Well Dori the problem with your contribution is this: although there is no part of Judaism that teaches hatred of anyone else, there is a part of lets call it Israelism that teaches hatred towards others. I grew up with many Jewish friends and as far as I remember we never had any thoughts about the hatred between the religions in Israel. we respected and even were interested in each others beliefs, customs, and religious practices. But we were friends. and we lived in the United States. Also, and most importantly, these were families of European Jewish background. It wasn’t until some years later, when we were introduced to people of Israeli Jewish background that we learned of the wars in Israel. The bombings, the killings, the hatred. we were appalled with what we learned. It was inconceivable that this was going on in our lifetime. Then came the terrible day that we learned that the Israeli Army were doing the same thing. It broke my heart. It took a long time for me to realize that the Israeli state is not the same as the Jewish religion. Both sides over there are foolishly slaughtering each other. The Israeli state has become the oppressor. I hear the hatred in my Israeli friends regularly. Even though most of them were born and raised here. They are taught this racism and they pass it on to their children. Just like the Palestinians do to their children, and the racist in America, and all over the world. Neither is in the right. Both have embarrassed themselves to the world and simply try to hide or deny it.

  • Rabbi Abraham Cooper comments are typical of people who are committed to continuing divison and conflict in the world by manufacturing ‘grounds’ for hatred whenever they see an opportunity. Why do some Jewish people feel they have no future unless they cab show they are persecuted? Water’s message for friendship and peace across all creeds and religions is clear. Long may he continue to promote this simple message.

    • Oh yes, very friendly. He calls the onliy democracy in the Middle East a murderous, ethnic cleansing apartheid state, without addressing a SINGLE crime carried out on behalf of that other religion that dominates the region. Very peaceful, indeed. It’s staggering in its stupidity. The guy’s a good musician, but a moron when it comes to current events and geopolitical issues.

      • Denying the methods used to found and maintain the political state of Israel does not make them go away. Neither does appealing to the loaded connotations of the misused phrase, ‘the only democracy in the Middle East.’

Of course there are other crimes against humanity performed by nations, groups and individuals the world over — not just in Israel. This is the point Roger Waters makes clear through his personal activism and through his art.

The challenge is to you to show your dispassionate objectivity and to justify your criticism and show your knowledge of recent history, current events and geopolitical issues. Can you please list five crimes against humanity performed by the political state of Israel and five performed by a state dominated by the other ‘other religion’ in the area?

Can you bring yourself to condemn the policies of any nation that commits abuses against human rights including Israel or is humanity expected to make an exception for Israel and ignore its war crimes and anti-human rights policies?

        • Isaac of Jerusalem

          I’ll play your game.

Crimes committed by Israel and crimes committed by Palestinians.

Israelis: Deir Yassin, 108 villagers killed in battle btwn Irgun forces and Iraqi troops, many in a massacre. April 9, 1948

Palestinians: Mt. Scopus medical convoy massacre, 80 doctors, nurses and patients massacred by Palestinians. April 13, 1948

Israelis: Kafr Qana massacre, 60 plus Palestinian civilians killed by IDF (1950s)

Palestinians: Coastal Road Massacre, 40+ Israeli civilians killed by PLO (March 1978)

Israelis: Evictions (“ethnic cleansing”)of Palestinians from villages and cities during the war.

Palestinians: Evictions (ethnic cleansing) of Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah Jewish neighborhood (aka Shimon HaTzaddk), Yad Mordechai, ethnic cleansing and massacre of Gush Etzion during the war.

Israelis: Assassination of Palestinian leaders (Hamas, Islamic Jihad)

Palestinians: Zion Square massacre, 50+ Jews killed (March 1948)

Israelis: partly responsible for Sabra and Shatila massacre in Sept 1982, about 800+ dead. Actual triggermen were Lebanese Christian Arabs, but why quibble?

Palestinians: partly responsible for massacre and ethnic cleansing of Lebanese Christian town of Damour, on Jan 20, 1976 during the Civil War. About 600 people killed by Palestinian and Lebanese Muslim gunmen.

750,000 Palestinian Arab refugees who fled or were forced out of their homes. Most living in “refugee camps” in Arab states

800,000 Jewish refugees who fled or were forced out of their homes by 10 Arab governments in 1948 and after. All living as resettled citizens, mostly in Israel, but also in the West.

Ok. So, we are all bad guys. We all suck.

But, Roger Waters’ take on this tragedy, and apparently yours, is it is all Israel’s fault.

Meanwhile, over 100,000 Syrians have been killed inthe last two years in that civil war; Egypt is coming apart at the seems; Tunisia is about to blow; Yemen, too; Iran hangs LGBT people and Bahais; Turkey occupies Cyprus and denies national rights to the millions of Kurds under Turkish domination; Iraq last month over 1,000 people killed in sectarian violence.

BUT, Roger Waters sees the need to single out Israel. “Bring down the wall!” he screams. Right. And let the terrorists back into blow up pizza parlors and coffee shops?

Oh, I forgot. It’s all our fault. If only we didn’t exist…

          • You speak as though the wall should be built around you. Maybe you should try that.

          • The wall HAS been built around Israel, not the westbank. There’s no wall between ‘Palestinian WB’ and Jordan. So yep,the wall has been built around Israel.

      • So I am assuming, since you didn’t deny it that you admit that the Israelis are doing wrong deeds as well. Waters is protesting the oppression carried out by those in power.

    • I am anti-jewish. All jews and muslims should be expelled out of the Christian West for ever.

      • Sounds Good Johnny

I wholeheartedly agree. Send the Muslims and Jews back to their points of origin.

And the Christians should return to their homeland in Europe. Kindly vacate North and South America and Australia (and any other parts of the world they inhabit).

        K, thanks, bye.

        • Retard Johnny

Christian should return to their homeland in Europe? PLease go back to school.

          • Your name is so fitting.
Christianity originated in Europe, as America was formed of british colonies, that’s elementary schools.
“America” belonged to the REAL Americans, the autoctonous tribes living there. The “white man” came to mess things up, “evangelizing” the “indigenous not-knowers of the truth” and so that’s how christianity came to be in USA. Spaniards came to eff things up here in Mexico, too, and moved us forcibly from polytheism to monotheism, making us believe in catholicism. Few are the people who accept the truth as it is.

  • John Paul jones

Roger Waters use of the pig is juvenile. a sad comment on complete lack of understanding of the Arab/Israel conflict. Walters is a typical product of his class. Anti – antisemitism runs deep under his skin. Never mind the anti – Communist and anti – Nazi symbols. It is the Jews he really is after.

    • Jeffrey Lutes

. . . First of all, most of Roger’s amazing business team happen to be JEWISH . . . & if your hyper ignorance had’t made you too hasty, you might have realized the pig also included the Christian cross & other top religious symbols . . . as well as top currency symbols & top national symbols & top corporate logos . . . All these things have fallen into the hands of the terrible infants of ultra-corruption long, long ago . . . One has to be pretty blind to not see that . . .

. . . Just keep going Roger . . . Your re-invention of THE WALL is freeing more human minds, in more nations & cultural backgrounds . . . more than just about anything else I’ve ever seen . . .

      Cheers!
      Jeff

PS : . . . I believe that anyone who stares directly at life on this planet intensely enough & long enough, will eventually notice that all the lifeforms/species here, from the microscopic to the largest . . . plant, animal & ALL . . . are nothing more or less than the physical/material manifestations of the many underlying levels of interrelated consciousness . . .

      . . . So it might be a good idea to care for & respect life . . . ALL LIFE . . .

    • Rabbi Cooper’s remarks are indeed ‘so wild and bigoted they demand a response’. His remarks are designed to stop the legitimate and sensible use of BDS to bring Israel to ots senses. Shame on you Rabbi.

    • I think you’ve “surely gone fishing”

  • “All in all he’s just a,,,,,,,, another dick in the wall”

  • R Waters & PF The Wall message is so clear, so simple and yet so deeply conceived. A cry for the human madness, war and fanatics trends but with a breeze of hope. You are digging on the air, there is nothing extremist or fanatic or against any religion.

  • Personally, I was disappointed to see the hammer and sickle on the pig because you can’t blame a progressive social experiment like the Russian Revolution for the crimes committed by Joseph Stalin and others under the banner of Marx’s Communism. On that question, Roger Waters hasn’t done his homework as millions of ACTUAL communists were slaughtered by Stalin during The Purges. So it’s probably more accurate to say he’s an anti-communist ironically, not anti Semitic.

    • Andrew Livingston

Jenny, I think you’re missing the point slightly what is being represented here.

The pig, with the star of david on it, the “anti-communist”, “anti-consumerist” are there to show that totalitarianism comes dressed in whatever clothes suits it. You make a very real point about the “progressive social experiment” not to be blamed for Stalin’s crimes. That is the point, Stalin, dressed in the guise of the progressive social experiment was a totalitarian, and he used this to wield his power.

It’s just as “Pink” in The Wall is not to be glorified, is not to be followed, he too is totalitarian, and he is laid naked before us. Again, the despot come in whatever clothes move the masses.

So, he’s not anti-communism any more than he’s anti-capitalism as such. He’s anti-authoritarian, anti-totalitarian, rooting it out and presenting it in all its various guises.

    • I get your point. But if you carry that logic through, then Nazism wasn’t really a problem. It’s just Hitler’s use of Nazism that’s to blame. I don’t think that one holds up as well. Both movements give cover, or at least provide the intellectual foundation to justify the crimes.

    • Oh man! Jenny Cee. The ‘Social Experiment’ that was Russian communism has in it’s founding charter mostly written by Lenin, the first written advocation of the benefits of ‘State Terror’in enforcing reforms. The hammer and sickle was the symbol of Soviet Communism, not the symbol of Marxism. Learn something about what you preach…

  • I think anyone offended should read Roger Water’s thoughtful response regarding his intent, beliefs and how he feels about being called anti-semetic and a nazi sympathizer…

  • Make Sure You Include ALL the Facts

So, this is the best part of the article:

“And I had a lot of fun, until I noticed the Star of David, on the inflatable pig. That was the only religious-national symbol which appeared among other symbols for fascism, dictatorships and oppression of people. Waters crossed the line and gave expression to an anti-Semitic message, beyond all his messages of anti-militancy.”

I guess the giant bird/bomber dropping a payload of crucifixes (yes, the same symbol that Christians identify with) is not religious symbol? Oh, unless it does not count because it is not Religious-National because there is no Nation of Christdom? Give me a break… People always have something stupid to say, and this qualifies.

    • I completely agree. I am 100% against antisemitism and think that Jews should absolutely not be persecuted. I find the persecution of Palestinians to be hypocritical of Israelis. They want to do unto others as they do not want to be done to themselves, and, as many commenters have pointed out, this article is inaccurate as to what was displayed and its intended meaning. This is the kind of hypersensitivity that undermines and mocks real antisemitism. I’m ashamed for the Simon Wisenthal Center and the Anti-Defamation League. They hurt their own cause. Why do the persecuted always become the persecutors?

    • yes, you’re right. what you said qualifies as stupid…

  • Regardless of Roger Waters intent, the show is amazing, the lyrics are stunning and timeless. There is no magic to that because as war itself, anti-war messages span all time. The other point that is timeless is that religion proliferates war. So many lives lost, so many civilizations crumbled because of the religious beliefs. Human beings putting symbols above humanity. Protect your star, your cross and your crescent, forgive it for all that it does and keep a blind eye focused on its failures.

  • You obviously do not understand The Wall and the story Roger Waters was trying to tell when you wrote, “In the film version of “The Wall,” the mob raids and destroys the homes of Black and Jewish people, so the use of the Jewish and other symbols on the pig is consistent with the lyrics of the song,” he concluded.” You were trying to make the correlation of the use of the symbol to suggest anti-semetism on Roger Waters’ part.

In the story of “The Wall”, a rock star is so consumed with anger, fear, and resentment that he builds a wall between himself and the world. This wall becomes so consuming that it turns him into a crazy, hate spokesperson, much the same way someone like Hitler must have been. It is not until he realizes the hate that has become a part of him was all self-induced that he realizes he must tear down the wall and let go of his hate. The use of the “blacks and Jews”, as you say, in the movie is to suggest that this hate the main character has conjured up causes him to relate to those who fuel hate in the world, and thus relate to those who act out in hate in the world towards minorities, for example.

So, if anything, the use of that imagery is actually to show sympathy for those who are victims of the hate of others.

Ironically, your close-minded, monomaniacal attack on those who you assume to be anti-semetic without truly understanding who they are and what they stand for or are trying to truly say only fuels the “walls” that stand between people, and those only stands to fuel more hatred.

Instead of attacking, look inside yourself to see what you and your accusations are actually doing to affect the karma of the world. Perhaps you should spend more time attacking those who truly fuel hate in the world. Maybe that finger-pointing may end up pointing right back at you? Perhaps?

  • Bathsheva Gladstone

    To the Algemeiner Staff.

I have to wonder why you’ve let this vitriolic discussion go on for quite as long as it has. It’s one thing to open up for comments and opposing view points. But, when it comes to the repetitious and meandering squawkings from the huffington post reject pile, isn’t enough, enough?

    • The point of the article and the point of discussion revolves around the use by Roger Waters of the alleged ‘Star of David’ on the flying pig at his concert and that the use of this symbol somehow is ‘antisemitic.’

But so far no one has shown links to this symbol as actually being documented as the Star of David in ancient times. Instead, links have been shown alleging that the symbol is the Star of Rephan, and two verses of the Christian Bible have been cited showing that God was not pleased with those who used this symbol.

Can those who are so outspoken in their criticism of Roger Waters for using the symbol show that the symbol on the flag of the political state of Israel is actually the Star of David and not the star of Rephan?

It’s also been shown that Roger Waters is not ‘antisemitic’ for criticizing the anti-human rights political policies of the political and Zionist state of Israel since not all Jews and not all followers of the faith of Judaism are Zionists. In fact, the True Torah Jews have established a website (www.truetorahjews.org/) opposing the political state of Israel and its Zionist policies as blasphemy against Judaism.

Now that these points have been brought to the attention of the readers to counter the charges and spin against Roger Waters’ right to freely express his thoughts in person and through his art, those who have been very vocal about charging Roger Waters with ‘antisemitism’ are eager to shut down the discussion.

It sounds all too familiar ……

Can anyone show links to this symbol actually being documented as the Star of David in ancient times?

Roger Waters is criticizing the anti-human rights policies pursued by some governments and some corporations the world over. He does not refrain from criticizing the anti-human rights policies of the political state of Israel in this regard.

The professionals who attempt to destroy the image and character along with the careers of anyone who criticizes the political Zionist state of Israel are hard at work attempting to make yet another example — this time out of Waters who dares to criticize Israel and Israeli political policies along with many other nations and cultures that enact anti-human rights policies.

This attempt to defame and destroy Roger Waters won’t work. The art of Roger Waters will live and shine its light on those warmongers and despots who would tread upon the sovereign lives of ordinary people the world over.

People should list to his CD, “Amused to Death.” It’s an incredible anti-war and anti-greed message. “Amused to Death” is among the top ‘Pink Floyd’ albums in quotes because this was a solo Roger Waters album but it has the sound and the feel of Pink Floyd at its zenith.

    • Bathsheva Gladstone

Nobody is trying to defame waters; he does that all by himself. Bringing it to the attention of others who might not know of his pathetic attempts, is quite simply put, a moral obligation.

Regarding your issues with the Star of David (Did you know the Star of David is comprised of all the letters of the Hebrew aleph bet?)–ha ha go fondle your cross and don’t bother to wonder the real and true symbolism of whose blood that represents.

      • So you can’t show links to this symbol actually being documented as the Star of David in ancient times? Can it be proved that the symbol on the flag of the political state of Israel is actually the Star of David and not the star of Rephan?

      • Bathsheva get a life

the only thing I am sure of after reading through many of your non-coherent rants is that you have way too much free time and clearly did not look at the picture and you need to find a hobby

        • Bathsheva Gladstone

Said the genius without a name. And what are your hobbies, other than posing as an insignificant troll?

      • Hello, There is a world outside of Israel, take your blinkers off and take a look, people suffering, wars, hate, crime, corrupt government’s.
This is what the Pig stands for not to hate people of any race, creed or culture but to tear down the divisions between mankind.
        Thankyou

      • Again you show your ignorance – it does not comprise all the letters of the Hebrew alphabet – in fact not even one – it is the two opposing triangles of masculine and feminine energies (fire and water) and comprises all the numbers of the ARABIC numbering system – i.e 1 – 9 – that is used in the western world – truly you nothing. Modern Hebrew is taken from the flame script of babylon – and is all made from the yod unlike in Abraham’s day when it was the ancient semetic script. You are definitely a crack up.

        • umm….nope. Modern ‘Square’ Hebrew letters are actually Aramean in origin and were picked up as the ‘lingua-franca’ during the Babylonian Exile. As for the Ancientness of the Star of David. Who know’s? It first becomes a ‘national-esque’ symbol around the time that the Zohar was edited to the one we read today. The Star of David was also, until recently, more commonly known as the Seal of Solomon. It has very ancient roots. Modern evangelist anti-semites have pulled all sorts of crazy meanings from it to do with biblical Idols. That’s pretty funny for Xtians to accuse Jews of Idolism when thier crosses are certainly more fetishes, than just symbols, and the fact that xtians openly admit to worshipping a Human Male as their god manifest strikes me as far more Pagan than the Jews of today who understand G-d as ineffable and well beyond anthropomorphia. I’m bored, so Im going now. Roger Waters teeth are too big for his face. Thats his crime

  • Hold on guys.

Roger Waters has been using the pig emblem since a long time ago. Visitors of his concerts expect to see a flying pigs and would be disappointed if it doesn’t show up.

Concerning the jews, I really don’t think that RW is antisemitic but he is radically against war. His father was killed at war by the nazis. And he beleives that war has prevented him to know his father.

Being anti-war he frequently write against people who commit to war. You may see during the concerts other symbols on pigs and on the wall : Dollar signs, christian cross, shell logo, and many others. You also see president obama, etc, … Given his anti-was stance (that you may feel is a bit extreme) you should not be surprised to see a star of david in the concert. Btw, the star of david appeared on the wall during “Good Bye Blue Sky” for a few years and nobody gave a fuss about it. If the problem is that the star of David appeared on THE pig, keep in mind that this pig is a regular features of all Roger Waters show and it caries a log of symbols and graffiti with him.

Also please note that during intermission you see on the wall a memorial of fallen soldiers of all nationalities. Because RW does not condemn the individuals who are sent to war and pay the high price for it. He condemns governement who sent these people to war. I can’t be sure but wouldn’t be surprised that there are israelli soldiers in this memorial during intermission.

Finally, RW is more a beleiver of the fact that violence on one generation leads to violence on the next generation. (“dragging behind you the silent reproach of a million tear stained eyes”).

This is evident in one of his little known album lyrics (the album is called Amused to Death) :
“And the germans killed the jews
And the jews killed the arabs
And the arabs killed the hostages
    That is the news.
And is it any wonder that the monkey is confused ?”

    (This was written before 9/11).

Everything was said. If you accept “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”, you’ll repeat mistakes and pass on sorrow to the next generation.

    • Bathsheva Gladstone

The lyrics you quote shows both the issue and either your blindness or your complicity and duplicity.

He is blatantly comparing Jews not Israelis to nazis. And by the way in case you don’t get it, neither are comparable. No matter how long you, waters and the rest of your slug family of bds’ers keep squawking.

So nice for you not to notice, fungus.

      • Aleph Lamed

hahaha – it appears you’re the one full of hate with the amount of abuse you hurl – that would make YOU the real problem with this world coz it’s hate that’s the problem and YOU personify it perfectly – Your stress levels must be sky high with the venom that resides in your being, so you have my pity for your early death by whatever industrial disease you have in your flesh, what a shame.

      • and please explain how you came to that conclusion from those lyrics please

  • For all the people who keep posting that RW is a “genius”, as if that somehow disproves he could possibly be a jerk or an anti-Semite, consider the case of Richard Wagner:

Wagner is universally acknowledged as one of the greatest artistic geniuses of all time. Yet every one of the many biographies written of him is quite clear that he was a sexual and financial predator given to violent rages, that he sadistically abused just about everyone he came into contact with, and that he was an unapologetic anti-Semite who blamed Jews not only for the world’s financial problems but also for corrupting music and culture. Some might say he was the father of modern German anti-Semitism.

Now, I don’t think RW is anything like approaching the anti-Semite or the a**hole that Wagner was. I also don’t think RW is anything like the genius Wagner was. Wagner, like Beethoven, composed great music for his entire life. Waters, like most rock performers of his generation, had a few great albums in him (my favorite is “Wish You Were Here”) and then started to rapidly fade out in the 1980s.

RW is no genius and no master-racist. He’s something much more ordinary and familiar nowadays: the baby-boomer celebrity who is growing old in a particularly ungraceful manner.

His last album worth a darn was “Amused To Death”, and that was more than 20 years ago. And even that was getting tired and somewhat warmed-over and you could here the ugliness creeping in where the creativity was growing stale. From there it’s just one long slow decline into unglamorous dementia.

  • Bathsheva Gladstone

    And one more thing…

Paul you wrote: “I will admit, though, that the Israeli Zionist mindset is slightly more frightening, and I’ll tell you why. The Muslims believe that their religion is the be all end all, and that the territory in Gaza is supposed to be secured for Allah. The Israeli people, on the other hand, believe the same, but with one major difference. They believe they, as a race, are the chosen people.”

What are you admitting? other than the fact that you are anti-Semitic? and an idiot?

First off, if you knew what the term “chosen people” meant to Jews, you’d realize how foolish your statement was and is. Without dwelling and going into needless detail it means, chosen to serve–to help heal the world, not chosen to rule. And!! even if it was intended the way you take it as chosen to rule (it’s not, but for the sake of argument let’s say chosen to rule)Nowhere in any Jewish document, anywhere and ever was the intent to rule at the expense of anyone else,ie killing those who didn’t conform or adhere to Judaism. So, for the sake of argument chosen to rule would’ve been chosen to rule all inclusively(it wasn’t though)… which for my money sure beats out dying by the sword in a holy war any day of the week.

    • I often here this argument from Jews that they were “chosen” to heal of serve, or whatever. But to others the question is left, why wasn’t I chosen then? I must not be holly or good enough. Their superiority is implied in the same way it is implied in the prosperity gospel. If you were as holly as me you would be chosen too…. right? Only idiots would even think of this as the right to rule. Furthermore being critical of the horrendous treatment of Palestinians by Israel is in no way anti-Semitic. Israel get’s away daily with atrocities that rival that of Nazi Germany if for no other reason than that they are supported by by many well meaning people. I don’t see any other way to see Israels actions but as a genocide, or at the very least gentrification. I wonder how it is that the Jews think they will eventually rule the world. Do they think it will be given to them and they absolutely believe just as all other religions that the world will eventually be ruled by them. I will admit that Jewish conquest has been pretty lax for more than a thousand years but there religion was in the past spread by the sword.

As to RW not being a genius, was Einstein not a genius? He only came up with special relativity. I guess he was just washed up after that huh. What if he had spent his whole life making just one album, but it was universally consider the best ever would he not qualify.I don’t think genius had time limits or that it’s a classification you can lose.

      • I can’t believe you still don’t understand ‘The Chosen’. Chosen means selected not elevated. The Jews were chosen to bear the yoke of the Mosaic Law when other nations shied from it. Chosen to bring the word to the world and CHOSEN to suffer for their ‘stiff-neck’. In Judaism there is no room for self aggrandising or christian self pity. NOW Im going. Gaza is being attacking with rockets again.

  • Bathsheva Gladstone

    paul, you ignorant twit.

[responding here, because yours is the only one not allowing a response for some reason]

Being a Zionist does not make one a racist. The likes of you, roger waters and the rest of your tawdry bunch of BDS’ers are in fact racist, anti-Semitic slobs. You’re so sadly ignorant of the facts, that in your gleeful and gluttonous effort to symbolically gas The Jews, you are in fact hurting the people you claim to want to defend–the palestinians. Or did you forget them?

paul you wrote: “It’s religious oppression we ought to be fighting in the middle east, not the Arabs or the Jews, but both. Both sides in this are equally deluded, equally sick, and equally maniacal.”

Really? paul? What’s deluded, sick and maniacal about speaking out and acting to deflect and protect against a very real and concerted effort/threat to defame, delegitimize and annihilate a country and it’s people?

paul you wrote: “You, Bathsheva, named after the whore mother of Israel (not being racist)”

Which puts me at about a bazillion steps above you on the food chain and yeah you are.

  • Nir from Israel

It’s funny how both sides of the argument are so confident about themselves without ever being in Israel & realizing the complexity of the situation.
It’s so complexed that there can’t be a good side & evil side.

Mythical stories of “the chosen people” aren’t an excuse to rule arabs of their rights.

Israel can’t just drop all occupied territories & gaza sea siege without pallestinian recognition in Israels right to exist, because it’ll lead terorrist organizations to an easy destruction of Israel.

& blending religious neratives in this political conflict to find who’s land this should be is primitive & secures the endlessness of the situation.

btw watters planned to perform in Israel just a while ago & canceled after palestinian groups pessured him to do so. I suppose this baloon thing was made more as a marketing idea than a real independant standpoint.

  • I’m sure a lot of you hardcore PF fans know about the time in 1977 when RW spat on a member of the audience during a concert in Canada. He felt very bad about it afterwards and it was his revulsion from his own behavior, as well as his revulsion from the mindless behavior of rock’n’roll fans that led to a lot of the songs and themes in “Pink Floyd The Wall”, especially the fascist metamorphosis and courtroom segments.

He was clearly try to assuage his own sense of guilt at being capable of such things, and hating his own fans. That’s all well and good, it’s what a lot of great art is about. Freud would have called it “sublimation”.

There was always something disturbing about “The Wall”, just enough to make you want to see it again. The fascist leader is later shown to be a helpless baby and is tormented by The Judge, a giant anus on a pair of legs who defecates on his victims when he speaks. It’s Waters’s ultimate criticism of himself for the spitting.

Over the years, as Waters grew more bitter and less creative, this aspect of his work has morphed into the hatefest/freakshow that can be seen in the video above. It’s like something out of 1984. Two minutes of hate, fascism is anti-fascism.

The song that had been written as an anti-fascist anthem to condemn his own latent fascist tendencies has now become an excuse for him to revel in those tendencies. Instead of using it to assuage his fascist impulses, he’s now using it to excuse them. The fascist stage props have become the main event, and the “anti-fascist” message has become a paper-thin wrapper.

The more I think about it, it’s not just the Jewish star on the pig, but all the other symbols as well, the localization of evil. The pig balloon was introduced to PF stage shows in the mid-1970s as an absurdist symbol, not a symbol of evil. But now it’s a sort of scape-pig carrying all of the evils of world. If we hate the pig, then we’re alright, and our own sins are absolved.

  • i am jewish but at the same time i am antisemetic really anti anyone trying to get over on the people using the race card or the religious card or what have you last i checked we do live in america we have the unalienable right to freedom of speach and if you do not like it then leave the country if u get ass hurt because of what someone else does you dont deserve to be living in a free country that allows people to speak their mind and voice their opinions because people that is all it is one person or many people having their own opinion on certain things get over ur self if u find the pig with a star of david on it offensive then u must not realize that unless u r jewish u are considered goyim in the jewish community which basically means u r not worthy and u r a pig so i being the jewish man that i am applaud this display fighting back against the politically correct bull shiz

    • No, Chris. No. “unless u r jewish u are considered goyim in the jewish community which basically means u r not worthy and u r a pig”

According to Webster’s Dictionary, as Goy (Hebrew: גוי, regular plural goyim גויים in Western languages) is a transliterated Hebrew word which translates as “nation” or “people”. Historically and up to modern times it is a synonym for Gentile or non-Jew.

If you heard this word used for a gentile as unworthy, or a pig, whoever said this was mistaken.

      • Goy (Hebrew: גוי”Ž, regular plural goyim גוים or גויים) is the standard Hebrew biblical term for a “nation,” including the “great nation” of Israel. Use of the plural, “nations,” to refer to non-Jews is found from “I will cast out the nations before thee” (Exodus 34:24) and long before Roman times it had also acquired the meaning of “gentile”. The latter is also its meaning in Yiddish. The word is also used to pejoratively describe those not of Jewish descent. It is commonly used to refer to Christians and non-semitic Muslims, but is regularly used by Jews to refer to any and all peoples of faiths other than Judaism.

  • This was seriously not thought out. It’s offensive to so many levels. If that was what you were going for them good job. You hit the nail right on the head.

  • Old Floyd Fan....

I’d say the silhouette on the pig’s flank resembles more the iconic photo of the SVA officer executing the suspected Viet Cong fighter than a Nazi salute – check the second figure in the silhouette which is superfluous to a single figure giving the Nazi salute.

  • the ones pulling the strings on both sides are one in the same. This is a great argument and very entertaining but the only winner is the ones pulling the strings. They profit on our differences.

  • It’s very funny to see reactions to things like this. I’m a jew, and honestly I find a lot of this to be redundant. People don’t just do things, especially not a man of this caliber. If he wanted to make a statement he could have pulled a Phil Collins and asked all jews and dogs to walk out. I don’t get the issue that people have with jews. Grow the hell up! You’re human. We all bleed red and we all feel feelings.

    • Where is your proof that Phil Collins is an anti-Semite?
I am told that such claims became such an issue that Collins posted on his website in 2003 that “I have no idea how these rumors start but there is absolutely no truth in what you’ve heard at all. The fact that Jewish people refuse to listen to my music because of this is very sad.” So I say again – show us proof.

  • Ironically, the lyrics of the song he is singing while the pig that people are upset with is floating around mentions jews in particular as being subjects of persecution.

  • Waters obsession with Jews in general and Israel in particular demonstrates a sick liberal mindset. He abhors Israeli “fascism” but understands Arab terrorism. He objects to “suffering” Palestinians but cares not for innocent Jews murdered in cold blood by Arab terrorists. Waters, and those who think like him, make the rest of us stronger and more determined then ever to secure Israel in a very unfriendly and hypocritical world.

    • Jerry,
The sick mindset is one who actually believes this thing known as post 1948 “Israel” is anything short of blasphemy against God and Jesus the Messiah.
Any Jew who still rejects Jesus as the Christ, after he was raised from the dead, has an awful lot to answer for.
These modern day zionist pigs who run most of the planet now, bear NO semblance to any of the “chosen” ones who adhered to the way of God as described in the Bible. In fact, the two groups are quite the opposite in character across the board.
“Securing Israel” for what? To what end? You have succombed to the myth in its entirety. You have accepted the lie over the truth and will defend the lie to the death.
To defend post 1948 Zionist Israel, is to deny God, Jesus the Messiah, and truth. But maybe this is laughable to you. Enjoy your laugh for a while…but I would rather you open your eyes without bias, now.

      • Bathsheva Gladstone

Go lick your wounds, bobby–they are clearly long and deep–go pray to haysoos, as for Jesus, we revel in the knowledge that he was a radical Rabbi, who died for his people alone–The Jews–he knew no watered down guff such as you espouse. As far as Jesus or any other Rabbi thinks regarding your trickle down theorizing, you are an idolator and not worthy.

        • Theory? We’ll see. Enjoy your false reality.

          • You both bother me, a whole lot, Bob and Bathsheva. It’s religious oppression we ought to be fighting in the middle east, not the Arabs or the Jews, but both. Both sides in this are equally deluded, equally sick, and equally maniacal.

I will admit, though, that the Israeli Zionist mindset is slightly more frightening, and I’ll tell you why. The Muslims believe that their religion is the be all end all, and that the territory in Gaza is supposed to be secured for Allah. The Israeli people, on the other hand, believe the same, but with one major difference. They believe they, as a race, are the chosen people.

If that’s not racist, I don’t know what is. They are both carrying on, doing terrible things to their own people and each other’s people, it’s disgusting. Neither side’s argument has a leg to stand on and yet the rest of the world is taking sides like this is a fight someone should win. No one should win this fight, this fight should just stop.

You, Bathsheva, named after the whore mother of Israel (not being racist, just stating facts, she totally left Uriah for David because David was a selfish prick. He totally tried to cover this up, but Uriah was a stickler for dem rules) are a racist. I’m sorry, but someone has to state the truth.

And Bob, you are just wrong. Just, so wrong. You’re trying to use a 2000 year old book to refute ITSELF. Be aware of the contradictions you espouse, because they will show themselves to you, one day. Will you choose to see them for what they are, or deny the truth and continue living a life using religion to defend racism?

        • Aleph Lamed

wow – considering most in the jewish faith don’t even believe Jesus even existed and those that do absolutely hate him (or else they would all be christian) – yopu seen a bit confused in you’re own beliefs. How you identify him as a Rabbi is a quote from Mary taken out of context in which she declares “Rabboni” aramaic for “my Rabbi” – infering he wasn’t a Rabbi of the “jews” but a personal Rabbi. Besides he declares “call no man on earth your Teacher (Rabbi) for you have one teacher (Rabbi) – the Christ”
Truly you are but a babe.

        • Aleph Lamed

hahaha – you are truly a piece of work. Thankyou for giving me great amusement. Truly Jesus isn’t your Rabbi is he? if he was, you would hear what he actually said – in which case if he is no Rabbi as far as your concerned, all your posturing and hot air is for naught, as you so desperately try to cling to the fact that he was. So glad you’re able to make judgements of condemnation, or else you would realise you too are not worthy for no man can be – tis your very last statement alone which betrays that you have no knowledge of Jesus but your comments are funny.

        • thank, Bathsheva. But please consider keeping cool enough not to descend to the level of name-calling we see too much. Your facts are superb, and your fighting spirit is admirable.

      • Hey Bob – Thanks for giving me my laugh of the day. You and your beliefs are one big joke and you sound like a hysterical hayseed.

        • Wow I’m far from religious but even I know Jesus whether man or son of god as they want you to believe was Jewish!!!! Lol only Hitler lovers n yards say otherwise lol

          • Aleph Lamed

and yet it was the jews that conspired to put him to death – it’s a bit like saying “I’m from a catholic family – therefore I’m catholic” Go through the new testament (if you dare – which I doubt) and see that Jesus was really as much a jew as he was a buddhist. He was of no religion but the one true religion, as the jews were so easily offended, he adhered to their tenants but was accused many many many times of breaking with judaism – not the trait of a law abiding jew – the only thing he wasn’t accused of was eating pork – I can only imagine the outrage the sadd’s and phar’s would have shown if he did and would have put him to death long before his time – and he was circumcised as he would have been at 8 days old – Jesus is about all men knowing the indwelling Christ which is the Son of the Father – Ehben – the stone – the union of Father and Son – truly you know nothing.

      • JESUS CHRIST WAS A JEW IDIOT!!! HE WAS A RABBI AND HIS NAME WAS JOSHUA ( AKA JESUS ) HES BONES ARE STILL LYING AROUND IN THE CAVE THAT HE WAS BURIED IN. HE WILL ARISE WITH THE OTHER JEWS WHEN THE TRUE MESSIAH COMES…..NOW BOW DOWN TO ME AND PRAY FOR I AM JEWISH, AND PROUD OF IT. BY THE WAY THE CROSS CAME OUT LOOONG AFTER THE STAR OF DAVID. OH AND IF IT WASNT FOR JESUS CHRIST THE JEW, YOU WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN PRAYING TO A TOTEM POLE.

        • Why do you say that Jesus is an Jewish idiot? And what evidence do you have that anyone has seen or knows where his bones are?

  • Roger Waters is a once-in-a-generation genius.

Dude wrote this little album called Dark Side Of The Moon which is about the anxieties and pressures of life:

“And if the clouds burst thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band your in starts playing different tunes
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon”

Dude wrote a little album called Wish You Were Here which is about absence….

“So. So you think you can tell
    Heaven from hell?
    Blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
How I wish! How I wish you were here!
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl
    year after year
Running over the same old ground
Have we found the same old fears?
    Wish You Were Here.”

And also about the music/entertainment industy giving an account of a meeting with an industry executive:

    “Come in here dear boy
Have a cigar. Youre going to go far
    Youre going to fly high
Youre never going to die youre going to make it if you try
    Theyre going to love you
I always had a deep respect I mean that most sincerely
The band is just fantastic that is really what I think
Oh by the way, WHICH ONE’S PINK???”

Then he wrote a little album called Animals discussing in Orwellian fashion the different types of people and how they resemble different animals and how they affect society.

    “Big man, Pig man
    HA HA CHARADE YOU ARE!
    You well heeled big wheel
    HA HA CHARADE YOU ARE!
And when youre hand is on your heart
    You’re nearly a good laugh
    Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
    Saying “keep on digging”
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
When you’re down in the pig rinds
    You’re nearly a laugh
    You’re nearly a laugh
    But you’re really a cry.”

Then the genius wrote a little album called The Wall which is about isolation and the pains it brings to scociety

“There is no pain, you are receding”
A distant ship’s smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre saying
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown the dream is gone
And I have become comfortably numb”

So, in summary, instead of making a total jackarse out of yourselves by putting down the genius Roger Waters, why not just enjoy what the genius has to offer which is is genius observation of the human condition.

This will help your miserable life as you find a voice that will speak to you and the genius is able to speak for all of us as brothers and sisters in the human condition….not as divided Us and Them.

And, no, you dummies, the genius Roger Waters who gives his time and money to charities like Wounded Warriors…he even devised a concert made up entirely of him and former soldiers who had lost limbs fighting the oppression of fascist fanatical muslim groups….this man, Roger Waters is NOT an anti-semite.

The idea is laughable and demonstrates a victim mentality. You should be thankful there is a Roger Waters giving voice to the voiceless….sticking up for the powerless against the machine of fascist societies.

And the pig, Roger’s floating pig, is a symbol of repression and is further proof of what a total genius this man is a genius. No wonder his albums have sold more than anybody elses, with the exception of The Beatles.

    • Yeah – he’s a real Renaissance man. And you, bondy – are a real moron. As if the jerk Waters knows anything about the anxieties and pressures of life. He should try living under terrorist threats. At least you have something in common with him. You’re as big a schmuck as he is.

      • Aleph Lamed

Does he not live in the same world as you, in the western hemisphere? of course he lives with terrorist threat and the pressures of society, he wasn’t born rich you know – I find it amazing that people (i.e YOU) are so keen to hate another and fling abuse for what? What kind of mindset do you have? – I think we can all guess.

      • Eve, maybe you should consider that maybe Roger DID live under terrorist threats!!! He grew up in England during WWII when the threat of nazi bombing prevailed over his life. It in fact was the major influence in his writings, especially in The Wall. His father died fighting the war against the nazis. So maybe you should look in the mirror and see whole the jerk and schmuck are.

    • Many are the geniuses who have lost the plot, look at Bobby Fischer, as just one more among numerous examples…

    • ….absolutely agree….. just saw The wall concert 3 days ago, live… and it was a perfect….
…and the pig flew above our heads…with not just one famous symbol on her…there were all others symbols off all major religies and movements too….

    • Aleph Lamed

Pigs – three different kinds – truly a classic classic song and although all albums I think are better than anything any other band could muster, I am a “wish you were here” man myself – wish you were here was the first song I learnt on guitar, so will always be special – of course I expect very few here, in this forum to be appreciative of any song he’s written, they seem more like beliebers.

  • Waters has done what he has always intended to do….. he has generated discussion and thought with his art.

Those on both sides of this are welcomed to their opinions…. and the truth is somewhere in between.

Thank god for bleeding hearts and artists making a stand.

    • Bill Bitterass

The truth is that liberals feel they are free to offend, insult, and shun anyone they choose to hate. But don’t dare to the same to them.

      • You mean like religious people believe in their right to totally undermine every other religion and non-believers around them.
Floyd’s shows have and will always be offensive/provocative in some sort of way to some lesser minded people close to all religious believers whom speak out in media are hypocrites and assholes

      • Aleph Lamed

that is the truth for all men – liberal, conservative etc but I agree we do live in the PC gone mad world – hence the “anti-semitic” rage of this column, when they haven’t even seen the “offending” pig in question – truly the epitome of ignorance or else they would see the crescent moon right there beside the “star of David.”

    • MikeHenrySC

…but if he had offended gays, that would be a different story. Hypocrisy.

      • Offensive to gays as much as jews…. Well if taken at face value. If you understand the story, it is portrayed as ugly, and facist. It is obvious.

Are there any queers in the theater tonight?
Get them up against the wall!
There’s one in the spotlight, he don’t look right to me,
Get him up against the wall!
        That one looks Jewish!
        And that one’s a coon!
Who let all of this riff-raff into the room?
        There’s one smoking a joint,
        And another with spots!
        If I had my way,
I’d have all of you shot!

    • Are you a f-ing idiot? The truth is somewhere in between? So if you rape a 7 year old girl and then you rape a 5 year old girl, the truth is also something in between? Watch the f-ing video, shame on you.

  • I love it when Waters charges 400 bucks to rail against consumerism and greed.

The definition of a dictator is someone who tells everyone else what to do but excuses himself from the moral code he created.

    Waters is a phony.

And yes, he hates Israel because he’s an idiot.

    • Bernard Baruch

Does roger realize that many Jews live as neighbors to him in New York. He will start to face some stiff opposition to his hate speach by his neighbors. He should live quietly and not bring so much attention to himself.

    • I dare to differ. If he ‘hates Israel’ (your words), then he may be on to something you clearly know nothing about. Your version of “Israel” has literally nothing to do with a remnant known as Israel.
The blind leading the brainwashed. That is you CJ.

    • Aleph Lamed

I take it you didn’t go to the concert coz you were broke – have you seen the amount of people it employs and the cost of venues in this day and age is horrendous – also 400 would have got you the best seats in the house.

  • He isn’t talking about Israel in terms of Jewish people. He is speaking of the banking family that OWNS Israel outright on behalf of the Western Europe elite royals and Vatican. The name of the banking family is the Rothschild family. See “Balfour Declaration of 1917″. These are the true arbitors of wars around the globe on behalf of who I mentioned above. He is speaking about “the order of things” and how and why it needs to stop. When he says Israel is a pig he speaks of the bankers who own and control it. The Jewish people are only pawns in their game just like the Christians and Muslims. It’s very sad.

    • What do Christians have to do with this?

      • Rothschilds are the ones behind scenes pushing for the new world order that Roger Waters has been writing songs about for years, it has nothing to do with anti-semitism. Google “bilderberg”

    • Aleph Lamed

don’t dare mention “research” in this forum – minds are already closed – I think you are asking way too much of the people here.

  • The phrase “shut up and sing” comes to mind, except that Waters is and always was a lousy singer. His vocals were always the weakest part of any Pink Floyd album, and his bass playing was mediocre at best (ever notice how easy it was to replace him?). Also, his post-Floyd work is just dismal.

Anyone who was stupid enough to pay to see this pathetic, washed-up old bigot got what they deserved: a putrid steaming pile of hate.

  • NadePaulKuciGravMcKi

    Rodger Waters of Pink Floyd
    flies massive inflated pig drone
with Star of David at his concert
to Protest Apartheid Israel and it’s
part in the 11 September 2001 fraud

  • Nobody gives 1 sh*t about this anti-semitism assault by the Weisenthal Center and the ugly little Rabbi.

  • Haha – nothing like the pretender zionists coming out to play.
    1) The modern state of Israel is a fascist state, so he’s right on the money. That is, a “militaristic and racist state.” If you claim it’s not racist, tell that to the Palestinians not me, for we can all see it for what it is, in this day and age. It may not be through fault of the average peace loving person on the street but by those that have seized power surreptitiously but there it is.
    2) I also find it amusing that “jews” – taken from the tribe of Judah, call it the star of David, which it is not and is a well known symbol of the rothchild’s, incorrectly taken from jewish mysticism for their own purpose, profaning it – hence why it was chosen as the symbol of the modern jewish state in the first place – it’s the mark of founding and ownership by the rothchilds. Still if you want to associate yourselves to the star of remphan and wish to convince yourselves it was in use by David and Solomon, so be it. You would be better to nail a serpent to a tree and use that as your symbol, if you must have a symbol at all but I spose the dollar sign’s already in use. Ironically it shows that you are still in the wilderness.
    3) It would be impossible for Roger Waters to be anti semitic, as he is descended from the semitic races, that being a descendant of Shem – “Jews” are only one tribe of the hebrews – the tribe of Judah and despite what certain members of the Rabbinical class (descendants of only 1/2 of the levitical tribe) wish for the world to believe, they don’t have sole claim to being children of Abraham and children of Shem.
    4) Any Pink Floyd fan that doesn’t respect Roger and is a “hater” as such, is not a pink floyd fan, so is inherently a liar, so don’t say you do like them, or are a fan. He wrote the vast majority of pink floyd songs and is one of the greatest song writer’s of the 20th century. Hence the popularity of The Wall to this very day. His songs call for remembrance of WW2, a desire for peace and an end to fascism everywhere, whether it be Germany, England or Israel. Mainly as he lost his father to the fascists in WW2. I would recommend “the gunner’s dream” as a listen for anyone not versed with this. Listen and understand – Roger Waters is not the enemy of Israel, it is “….those that call themselves jews but are a synagogue of satan” as they always have been. Shalom.

    • Which Palestinians should we inform first, those who are Israeli citizens or those in the Knesset? You ignorant slob! You are as lost in your hate as Mr. Waters.

    • Translation of above crap: blah, blah, blah, I hate Jews.

      • Aleph Lamed

I love/like most Jews and have a close female Jewish friend and as a student of jewish mysticism am deeply baptised in the jewish mind – hence the tag Aleph Lamed

    • You do realize that this whole article is about how Waters’ has taken his hatred to the next level. By putting the star on the pig, and not the Israeli flag, he is making his point very clear. You can call the star whatever it is you want, but the way Waters’ is using it, we can only call it the Star all Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis.

      • Aleph Lamed

there is no seperation between the flag of Israel and the “star of David” used by Adolph during WW2 – being an occultist he used the symbol in the exact same way as the rothchilds – hence why it’s on the flag – it should be mentioned that it was amongst many symbols on the pig – including a cross, a crescent moon, a dollar sign, an apple sign and many more

    • MikeHenrySC

When you have your cute little talking points all ready to post like that, you really do come across as a whacked-out conspiracy theorist and anti-semite…. because you are. Have a nice day and get some more tin foil.

      • MikeHenrySC,

Hard for you to hear some truth for once? But Aleph is the conspiricist, right? There is a simple reason for your thoughtless assessment: The truth is soooo faaaar removed from your narrow, but saturated, brainwashed, media filled hype, that your only choice is to label anything different as being “a conspiracy”.
Yet you do not have a single word to disprove any statement from Aleph. Nor does anyone else btw.
All you can do is slam – because you’ve done NO research of your own, know nothing of the conquest to overthrow, undermine and take over what was Palestine as the story took real roots in about 1897. Dumbfounded yet? What I thought.
It is simple. Do more more shutting up, reading and researching, and while doing so, remove the built in bias, brainwashing, media myth that this thing called post 1948 “Israel” actually has a bearing on reality. Ummmm it does not after the truth is revealed.

      • Aleph Lamed

again it is impossible for me to be anti semitic as I too am descended from Shem – as are probably you. There are conspiracies out there and there are illusions masked as conspricy but I will get some more tinfoil – I find it great for cooking and indeed creating Faraday cages, when done right. Thanks for the advice.

    • Aleph,

How refreshing to read some truth among ignorance. You just brightened my day with your knowledge! We read words like yours far too little.
The vast majority of western culture – including Europe – must discount your lesson, simply because they have never heard the truth, therefore must defend the lie, in utter ignorance.
      Thank you.

    • And the Queen of England is drug dealer.

      • Aleph Lamed

Baruch – really?!?! your real name? Hahahaha classic – why on earth would you accuse the queen of being a drug dealer in a public forum like this?

    • Bathsheva Gladstone

      Aleph,
You poor little baby! Poser that you are, the more you ramble on, the more you contradict yourself. Your long winded scribblings serve only to vent your pathetic hatred towards The Jewish People and to show your extreme lack of ability to grasp reality and truth. Haha, shame on your parents for letting you muck about without a helmet on. Vroom, vroom off and away you go!

      • Aleph Lamed

really?!?! – hahahaha – you love nothing more than to hurl abuse don’t you? You’re so full of venom aren’t you? Truly you’re what’s wrong with humanity – at least your time is coming to an end, very soon. Love ya name though – pretty much sums you up doesn’t it.

        • Bathsheva Gladstone

You seem to have a problem with Jewish names.
You seem to wish that I die an early death, is that personal or do you wish that for all Jews, or just Jews named Bathsheva and/or Baruch? “I’m what’s wrong with humanity.” Again, is that me personally, or just all 12 million Jews in general? Either way, you give me/us way too much credit for what ails you.

I personally have inherited an extremely long lifeline, so sorry to disappoint. As for the lifeline of the Jews, we’ve outlived worse scourge than you, and will happily outlive the rest of your kind.

          Baruch Hashem

  • Waters, you are a lost soul!

  • OK, so RW wrote an anti-fascist song 35 years ago, and he likes dressing up like a fascist to sing it. In recent years, he’s added Nuremburg-rally-style decor and now there’s even a pig-shaped balloon with a Jewish star.

At some point, wouldn’t you say he’s started to enjoy the trappings of fascism a little more than than supposed message of the song?

I mean, it’s like protesting the KKK by dressing up in a white hood and tying a noose to a tree, you know, to make the protest really really authentic.

    • He isn’t protesting anything with that costume. He’s mimicking it to express the mindset to which Pink has devolved.

  • No doubt Waters would have made a fine guard at a camp in Poland.

    • Since when is criticism of isreali policies the same thing as hating Jewish people?

      • When you put the star, which is a symbol of jews, and not the israeli flag on a pig. That was not a statement against Israel, it was a statement of racism and anti-semitism.
Put a half moon and star on the pig and see if all muslims get upset, or just those from Pakistan.

        • The only reason its a symbol of the jews is because of Hitler . that’s how he marked their houses and made them wear them around their necks. if you do your research theat symbol is actually from ancient magic and has nothing to do with any “star of david” , there is no such thing. try reading a little

        • Aleph Lamed

indeed he did along with a cross, a dollar sign, an apple symbol and many more as anyone that has actually seen the concert would know

  • Wow, these comments are very disappointing. Talk about missing the point…holy cow. I thought you guys were supposed to be smart! Let me help you out here.

    1) To the clown who claimed that Waters doesnt have the guts to show the crescent moon or criticize Islamic fascists, you have demonstrated your ignorance. Anybody who has been to one of The Wall shows knows that the Crescent Moon of Islam is one of the symbols (along with the Christian Cross, the Star of David, the American dollar sign, the Shell Company logo, etc) are ALL used and shown on The Wall as the problems with society which is when we divide up ourselves and take on an “Us vs Them” mentality. In fact, at the end of the concert, graffitti comes raining down on the audience…the graffitti is in the shape of Crescent Moons of Islam, Stars of David, Shell Oil Logos, etc etc et.

    2) Go to Youtube and type in Roger Waters Ayotolla. There you will see Roger Waters and a group of other people take Roger’s great song, Brick in the Wall part 2 and sing the song but change it to “HEY AYOTOLLA, LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE!!!” Waters has been VERY critical of fundamentalist religions that cause hate regardless of whether they be Islam, Christian, Jewish, whatever. So, you dont have a clue.

    3) Roger Waters’ father died fighting Hitler who was kinda a bad Jew hater. Roger constantly discusses how he is proud that his father left his pacifist beliefs to fight the war because the Hitler guy was a madman that had to be stopped. How come none of you jerks are saying thank you to Roger instead of your jerky comments.

    4) To the fool who said that David Gilmour is the real deal and still playing great stuff. David Gilmour pretty much retired about 5 years ago. Ocassionally, David will pop up and sing a song but the only songs that David sings are songs that some guy named Roger Waters wrote for him to sing. Seriously, you guys sound so silly. Read the liner notes on Dark Side of Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall and you will see that Roger wrote all the songs with the occassional chord or two contributed by the guitar player named David Gilmour.

    5) Waters is not anti-semitic, he just doesnt believe in the wall that Israel built and he is critical of some policies of Israel. I do not share Waters’ politics but I am educated enough to know that Waters isnt anti-semitic and that being critical of the country known as Israel does not mean you are automatically anti-semitic.You guys are talking out of your back-sides.

Besides, what do you guys care? Y’all voted for that true anti-semite Barack Obama so spare me the false indigination. Personally, I have recently changed my mind about Israel. Even though I recognize that Israel is the only civilized country in the middle east, I say America should cut off all aid to Israel. After all, you guys all vote liberal which is destroying our country so why should I support your country with my tax dollars. pat Buchanan is right.

See you on the dark side of the moon.

    • You have a good points but you are mistaken. True Jews didn’t vote Obama – the faithful Jews who are true to their beliefs and religion only vote right wing conservative (as they always have). Liberalism is totally against the basic tenants of Judaism. I am Jewish and I don’t know any of my friends who voted for Obummer.

      • Stupid Shlomo

So neocon capitalism is part of the tenants of Judaism? You know nothing. Go away. You are drunk.

      • I will give you that point Shlomo. I read in a recent Ann Coulter column that Orthodox jews didnt vote Obummer but the less faithful jews or the “cultural jews” did. So, like I said, I think you are right and make a good point.

      • I must disagree, do not typecast “real Jews” if you please. Most i knew growing up were indeed liberal, slightly to the left and strong advocates for the civil rights of minorities. Conservative right wingers used to bar them from work, college enrollments and clubs, labeling them communists, which many were, and many weren’t. Many more nowadays are neoconservative, perhaps due to the antisemitism on the left which is disguised as antizionism. Those claiming ethnic cleansing are misinformed and prefer their slanted viewpoint the way fox listeners prefer theirs. Jimmy Carters foundation get s big bucks from the Saudis. Israel is the only liberal middle eastern country which tolerates dissension and recognizes religious freedom and personal representation under the law. It is also a refuge for gay Muslims whose countries either do not recognize their existence, or seeks to end it. I am a liberal pro-Israel Jew and think FOX and Pacifica are all full of shit on differing issues. And i did vote for Obama, who is a bit conservative for my tastes but i do not expect any president to totally institute all my ideas as we are a diverse country, i just wish he would raise taxes for billionaires and fund health care and education, and not ever consider nuclear or oil drilling these days. But i would bet that congress who has sabotaged him since before he took office do not care any more for jews than they do for Blacks.

        • Wow, what a horrible post there Janet.

Conservatives are the only ones who do care for Blacks. You liberals want to keep them on the liberal plantation because that is how you keep your power.

Liberals want to give minorities fish (from OTHER peoples’ money of course). Conservatives want to teach minorities how to fish. But libs dont want blacks to learn how to fish because once they do, nobody needs libtards.

Obama is “not liberal enough” for you??? Wow, you must be bummed out that Karl Marx, Stalin, and Pol Pot are all dead.

      • Thank you. you just defined the difference between a zionist and an orthodox jew. Im not sure what a “true jew” is, but if they knew the truth, they would believe in the risen Jesus…just as thousands of “true jews” did about 2000 years ago.
So decide for yourselves, regardless of heritage, if Jesus will be your Lord, or if you are really really still hanging on for that king to come and reign over you.
Something pretty incredible happened 2000 years ago…that changed the Calendar. Are you listening yet?

    • Excellent comment Bond23.
Disagreeing with the policies of the Israeli government doesn’t necessarily make one anti-semitic.

    • Thank you! Right on!

    • CHEERS Bond23!

    • Aleph Lamed

      thankyou – well versed

  • Truth be told

If the Israelis don’t want to be branded as fascists, then their government shouldn’t act like one.

    • Right…the only democracy in the middle east, the only country that grants full rights to minorities (over 1 million arab muslims live in israel with full rights) is a ‘fascist state.’

God forbid israel defend itself against groups (Hamas) that openly refuse to recognize its right to exist, launch missiles at its cities, and calls for its destruction.

Israel is the only country on earth condemned for defending itself against groups that openly want to destroy it. It’s tried to make peace with palestinians numerous times, only to be turned down and met with suicide bombs and rocket attacks. How dare they defend themselves? Imagine the gall!

Roger Waters is at least coming openly clean about his anti-semitism. I now respect him more – don’t like him but respect that he’s open about his hatred.
Anyone serious about peace in the middle east needs to stop throwing around nonsensical propaganda (like ‘israel is a fascist state’) and focus on holding BOTH sides accountable. God forbid we hold palestinians accountable for anything, right?

    • Roger Smith

You are a sore Palistinian or socialist communist living out side Israel. Either way, that is a statement that only comes out of a loser.

  • It’s pretty clear Walters needs Jesus. He needs to get saved just like 99.99% of the world population.

  • Kissinger, US intelligence community endorse
    “World Without Israel”

    By Kevin Barrett

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been vilified in the Western media for daring to imagine “a world without Israel.”
But according to news reports, Henry Kissinger and sixteen American intelligence agencies agree that in the near future, Israel will no longer exist.
The New York Post quotes Kissinger “word for word”: In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.
Kissinger’s statement is flat and unqualified. He is not saying that Israel is in danger, but could be saved if we just gave it additional trillions of dollars and smashed enough of its enemies with our military. He is not saying that if we elect Netanyahu’s old friend Mitt Romney, Israel could somehow be salvaged. He is not saying that if we bomb Iran, Israel might survive. He is not offering a way out. He is simply stating a fact: In 2022, Israel will no longer exist.
The US Intelligence Community agrees, though perhaps not on the precise 2022 expiration date. Sixteen US intelligence agencies with a combined budget over USD70 billion have issued an 82-page analysis titled “Preparing for a Post-Israel Middle East.”
The US intelligence report observes that the 700,000 Israeli settlers illegally squatting on land stolen in 1967 – land that the entire world agrees belongs to Palestine, not Israel – are not going to pack up and leave peacefully. Since the world will never accept their ongoing presence on stolen land, Israel is like South Africa in the late 1980s.
The extremist Likud coalition governing Israel, according to the US intelligence report, is increasingly condoning and supporting rampant violence and lawlessness by illegal settlers. The report states that the brutality and criminality of the settlers, and the growing apartheid-style infrastructure including the apartheid wall and the ever-more-draconian system of checkpoints, are indefensible, unsustainable, and out of synch with American values.
The sixteen US intelligence agencies agree that Israel cannot withstand the coming pro-Palestinian juggernaut consisting of the Arab Spring, the Islamic Awakening, and the rise of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the past, dictatorships in the region kept a lid on the pro-Palestinian aspirations of their people. But those dictatorships began to topple with the fall of the pro-Israel Shah of Iran in 1979 and the establishment of a democratic Islamic Republic, whose government had little choice but to reflect its people’s opposition to Israel. The same process – the overthrow of dictators who worked with, or at least tolerated, Israel – is now accelerating throughout the region. The result will be governments that are more democratic, more Islamic, and far less friendly to Israel.
The US intelligence community report says that in light of these realities, the US government simply no longer has the military and financial resources to continue propping up Israel against the wishes of more than a billion of its neighbors. In order to normalize relations with 57 Islamic countries, the report suggests, the US will have to follow its own national interests and pull the plug on Israel.
Interestingly, neither Henry Kissinger nor the authors of the US Intelligence Report give any sign that they are going to mourn the demise of Israel. This is remarkable, given that Kissinger is Jewish and has always been viewed as a friend (if occasionally a tough friend) of Israel, and that all Americans, including those who work for intelligence agencies, have been influenced by the strongly pro-Israel media.
    What explains such complacency?
Americans who pay attention to international affairs – a category that surely includes Kissinger and the authors of the Intelligence Report – are growing fed up with Israeli intransigence and fanaticism. Netanyahu’s bizarre, widely-ridiculed performance at the United Nations, where he brandished a cartoonish caricature of a bomb in such a way that he himself came across as a caricature of a “mad Zionist,” was the latest in a series of gaffes by Israeli leaders who seem prone to overplaying their hand.
A second factor is the festering resentment many Americans feel over the Israel Lobby’s imperious domination of public discourse. Every time a well-known American journalist is fired for going “off-script” about Israel, as happened to Helen Thomas and Rick Sanchez, a mostly-invisible backlash, like a tidal wave rippling beneath the surface of the ocean, grows in power. And every time the Israel lobby slaps down someone like Maureen Dowd, who recently observed that the same Israel-fanatics who dragged the US into the Iraq war are now trying to do the same thing with Iran, the more people begin to wake up and realize that people like Dowd, Thomas, and Sanchez are speaking the truth.
A third reason for complacency in the face of Israel’s impending demise: The American Jewish community is no longer united in support of Israel, much less its Likudnik leadership. Sophisticated Jewish journalists and analysts like Philip Weiss are recognizing the insanity of Israel’s current leadership and the hopelessness of its predicament. According to recent reports, it is no longer fashionable among young American Jews to care about Israel. And despite Netanyahu’s frantic attempts to sway Jewish voters toward the Mormon Likudnik Mitt Romney, polls show that Obama, who is on record saying he “hates” the “liar” Netanyahu, will easily win the majority of Jewish votes.
Finally, we come to the least obvious – but most powerful – reason for Kissinger’s and the CIA’s complacency in the face of Israel’s implosion: The inexorable trickle-down of knowledge that Israel and its supporters, not radical Muslims, carried out the 9/11 false-flag attacks.
Increasingly, it is not fringe anti-Semitic groups, but high-level responsible observers, who are saying this. Alan Sabrosky, the half-Jewish former Director of Strategic Studies at the US Army War College, has come on my radio show to say that he has discussed with his colleagues the “100% certainty” that Israel and its supporters did 9/11. And Alan Hart, the former lead BBC correspondent for the Middle East (and personal friend of Golda Meir and Yasser Arafat) has also come on my radio show to break the story that he, too, knows that Israel and company orchestrated 9/11.
Today, we even have a presidential candidate, Merlin Miller, who is on the record stating that Israel, not al-Qaeda, carried out the 9/11 attacks.
The chief purpose of 9/11 was to “seal in blood” an intense, unbreakable emotional bond between the US and Israel, in a desperate bid to assure Israel’s survival by launching a long-term US war against Israel’s enemies. As the “dancing Israelis” arrested for celebrating the 9/11 operation tried to convince the police: “Our enemies are your enemies. The Palestinians are your enemies.”
But more and more Americans, including the US intelligence community as a whole, now recognize that the enemies of Israel (the entire Muslim world of over 1.5 billion people, along with most of the non-European world) do not have to be the enemies of the United States. In fact, the US is going broke and sacrificing thousands of lives in wars for Israel – wars that damage, rather than aid, US strategic interests. (One of those interests, of course, is buying oil and gas from stable, cooperative governments.)
As the recognition grows that 9/11 was not a radical Islamic attack, but an act of dastardly, bloody treason by supporters of Israel, it will become ever-easier for American policy makers, following in the footsteps of Kissinger and the sixteen intelligence agencies, to recognize the obvious: Israel has reached the end of its shelf-life.

    • If I was looking to read a nonsensical piece full of lies from an islamist “9/11 was an inside job” propagandist, I would have googled “idiotic consipiracy theorist nonsense”…this adds no value to this, or any discussion.

    • Travis Chittom

‘He is simply stating a fact. In 2022 Israel will no longer exist:’ We Need a new term for this Kind of ‘fact’. How about ‘future facts’! Facts that are Facts in the future and must be accepted as fact even though they have not happened yet. I can make predictions as well. Israael will most likely be around in 2112 but Iran, where ethnic Persians are a minority will not. Every Arab Nation will still be a backwards shithole and there will still anti_Semetism.

    • aubreyfarmer

Mr. Barrett, thank you for your post. Quite enlightening. Of course there won’t be any posts that refute your comments but get ready for a tirade of ad hominem attacks.

  • This is not anti-semetic. Israel is a terrorist state and the world needs to know it. The Jewish people are good people, but Israel as an entity has become an agressor of wars and enslaver of people. There’s plenty of jews that agree with me.

    • As if more than half the world’s Jews don’t live in Israel.

As if most Jews who live other countries don’t have relatives in Israel and support Israel, even if they don’t always support all its policies.

As if the star used on the pig isn’t used by Jews around the world for centuries. As if it wasn’t used in Germany to mark Jews for extermination.

  • I grew up on Floyd among many others. I always thought they were cool in a weird sort of way. Not any more. They are old geezers. And Waters, well, it is clear he is Jew hater. Sad. Just flush him down the toilet.

  • Star of David? riiiiiight. The Star of Zionism,
The star was mentioned and condemned by the God of Israel in Amos 5:26 and it was called by Him, `the star of your god, Moloch’ or otherwise called `Chiun’. Reference to Amos 5:26 and the Israeli’s having it in the wilderness was also made in Acts 7:43. Here it was called the Star of Remphan. Not the star of David. The star in fact is a representation of 666.

  • Israel was most outspoken and lead international boycotts against South African whites.
Forgive me for being sensitized to double standards, it’s impossible for me not to note an Apartheid system in place in Israel.
Now I even have sympathy for the Israelis fears. Should they essentially open the doors to Muslims, it will soon lead to their demise.
However what really gets my goat is why didn’t they have any concern for fate of South African white people ?

    • Wrong.
      Zero facts.
      Nuff said

    • Bathsheva Gladstone

Said like a true moron… Israel has muslims in the knesset, they teach in academia, etc…What Muslim country can say the same regarding Jews? How many countries have not just segregated, but ousted? Why is it, that idiots like you, just never shut their fool mouths up?

  • “And the Germans killed the Jews and the Jews killed the Arabs and the Arabs killed the hostages and that is the news. And is it any wonder that the monkey’s confused?”

“He said, ‘Mama Mama, the President’s a fool, why do I have to keep reading these technical manuals?’ And the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the brokers on Wall St. said, ‘Don’t make us laugh, you’re a smart kid.’ Time is linear. Memory’s a stranger. History’s for fools. Man is a tool in the hands of the great God Almighty. And they gave him command of a nuclear submarine and sent him back in search of the garden of Eden.”

  • Well done Water, very funny. Anyone who says or does anything remotely critical of Israel is immediately deemed antisetemic by the hysterical holocaust industry. They play off the deaths of jews for their zionist agenda.

  • Waters is a tone-deaf douche. Thank God Gilmour still plays coherrent music for the Pink Floyd fans. That’s why Waters lost the lawsuit.

    • Watch the video. The star of David appears during a song about Nazi persecuation of Jews during World War II. The Star of David was used to essentially brand Jews as different. There is no antisemitism here; it would be more accurate to say it’s a song critiquing the kinds of perverse political mentalities that underpin antisemitism. The song is entitled “In the Flesh,” from the album THE WALL, go check it out on YouTube.

  • Lol! Roger always had a sense of humor. It’s only liberals and, well, Jews that don’t laugh at this understandably.

    • Udo- clearly you have no clue about history. Jews have a great sense of humor, its that we can’t tolerate blatant antisemitism. Blacks have a sense of humor too. But you are too little minded to understand

      • what history. of manipulating all the gold and banks. and gathering as a tribe to ruin the economies of other countries. shalom.

  • It’s a song critical of fascism. The star was used to brand jews during the holocaust. It doesn’t mean he is for it. This is how censored we are now. Pathetic sheep.

    • What a moron you are, Andy K. He’s equating Jews with Fascism.

      • no, he’s equating the current state of Israel with fascism, and he’s right. Do Palestinian residents of Israel have the right to vote?
There are many Jews who do not support the policies of Israel. Are they antisemitic?

        • aubreyfarmer

Everyone that disagrees with the Zionist program gets their own label. Thus any Jew that doesn’t toe the Zionist party line is labeled a “self hating jew”. I just love the Real Zionist News site of Brother Nathanael Kapner. On the subject of Christ hating Jews he is a world renouned expert and rightly so.

  • I think the Jews, just like the blacks, should get over themselves already. There is nothing antisemitic about this.

  • He can’t sing worth a Sh*t.

    • He can sing better than you , and he has more money than you do.

      • Money does not make you right or smart. Waters is a good case an point, and only the more recent. He is just trying to be relevant, but in the only way his simple mind can.

  • The balloon pig in question has been a staple of Roger Waters and members of Pink Floyd for decades … Although the pig used in Pink Floyd concerts (without Roger Waters) uses created symbols such as the 2 hammers as a metaphor to hate symbols.

The pig in the video shows the famous photograph “Saigon Execution”, it’s not a man giving a “Nazi” salute.

The usage of the Star of David was the obvious misunderstanding with this concert, but it fits the song “Run Like Hell” that depicts the ignorance and violence against Blacks & Jews.

It has never been a song that supports bigotry, it remains a song that speaks against it.

Roger Waters’ has a very real critique of a government that begs for military weapons and calls upon other nations to attack Iran, because they feel Iran will attack them eventually.

Roger’s disagreements with Israel associates with the Israeli government and the treatment of non-Jewish citizens.

Peace talks and negotiations with Palestinians are always temporary. The Israeli government blames Palestinians for ALL their woes when it’s basically people angry with an oppressive government.

It is a government armed to the teeth with US UK bunker busting bombs, nuclear missiles, high performance firearms and a military state against people with pipe bombs.

I am angry with one fact that remains with any criticism of Israel, in that anyone who has something negative to say about this country is deemed a hate monger.

While certainly antisemitism exists, it is not a scourge of Israel – Israel is a wealthy prosperous country – The problems started when Israel was dropped on a diverse trade route and full control was handed to Zionist rule. I’ve never found that fair … yet who can say anything about that without being labeled antisemitic?

    • When the shoe fits…you are most definitely a Jew hating, terrorist supporting “Liberal”.

    • “who can say anything about that without being labeled antisemitic?”

Well, it helps when you’re specific about what it is you’re criticizing.

      For instance, when you say:

“The problems started when Israel was dropped on a diverse trade route and full control was handed to Zionist rule.”

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but it does seem narrowly tailored and not at all anti-Semitic.

But a Jewish star on a pig? Come on, can you get any less subtle than that?

It’s true that Israelis sometimes use accusations of anti-Semitism to try to deflect criticism.

But it’s also true that old-fashioned anti-Semites use the “don’t call me anti-Semite just because I disapprove of Israeli policies” card to defend behavior that is otherwise indistinguishable from the same old anti-Semitism of yore.

I mean, save your reasoned criticisms of Israeli policy for when you need them. Don’t waste what credibility you have by trying to defend a Jewish star drawn on a pig.

    • “Roger’s disagreements with Israel associates with the Israeli government and the treatment of non-Jewish citizens.”

Does Roger have any problem with Islamic/Arab countries’ treatment of its Jewish citizens? Expropriation of all Jewish property, civil rights, citizenship is OK? That of course would only cover Egypt, Iraq, and Yemen. Massacres, prohibition of religious practices, and destruction of religious historic artifacts and buildings would bring in Syria, Tunisia, and Sudan. Political repression brings Iran into the equation. Prohibition of a Jew even stepping foot in Mecca or Medina – not to mention absolute prohibition of synagogue building, Jewish worship, or even a seat on a plane flying into Saudi Arabia if a Jew has an Israeli passport stamp – adds Saudi treatment of Jews by Islamic countries.

Why does Roger Waters only take issue with Jewish treatment of Arabs, which really is self-defense? It seems his views are one-sided and fail to recognize Arab treatment of Jews, and the fact that Israel has her back against a wall living in a sea of hatred. And, that hatred existed long before 1948. One only has to read letters to Hitler from Arab leaders (including Tunisian politicians, and the mufti of Jerusalem) begging for Hitler to “help” the Middle East with its “Jewish problem.”

  • Roger Waters is a genius. He is fully and unquestionably entitled to express his political opinions in his personal life and his art. Anyone disagreeing with that is anti-free expression, anti-freedom of thought, anti-first amendment, anti-individual liberty and anti-freedom to think.

    • Chad Woodburn

The issue is not whether he has a right to express his views, but whether it is right for him to express those views. As a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, of Judah and King David, I am offended by his hatred. I would also remind you that as a matter of history initially the First Amendment was not understood to protect this kind of speech or blasphemy.

      • There is no distinction between the right of free expression and the rightness of the opinion expressed when discussing politics and human rights. Freedom of speech guarantees that some will be offended by the speech.

Another way of looking at this is, “What right does the political state of Israel and the people who craft and support its political policies have to be shielded from criticism?” The answer is ‘None.’

Israel is a political state making political policy that is open to criticism from all who disagree with that policy. Many will find the arguments of True Torah Jews Against Zionism more convincing.

        Here is their site:
        http://www.truetorahjews.org

The banner of the home page boldly states that, “The state of Israel DOES NOT represent Jews or Judaism.”

So Roger Waters criticism of the state of Israel’s policies and behaviors is as much fair game as criticism by anyone of any other nation or group in charge of the nation’s policies that affect others.

Roger Waters is a master human rights activist expressing through his art and activism the injustices he sees in the world.

Roger Waters UN Address – Nov 29, 2012
        http://youtu.be/9DrSPFYXUfQ

        • Anyone who believes the arguments of True Torah Jews Against Zionism represent what most Jews believe is mistaken. This fringe group has a few hundred adherents of the 18 million Jews in the world. And if you BDS haters knew what their plans were for the Land of Israel, you wouldn’t be so quick to support them. The worst injustice is their drivel provides ammunition to the BDS, who, otherwise, couldn’t think up their own arguments.

          • I don’t know what a ‘BDS hater’ is but I’m sure it’s on the list of official ‘haters’ as created and maintained by those who wield the charge of ‘Antisemitism’ as a weapon against free speech that criticizes the policies of the political state of Israel that do affect other people and other nations in negative ways.

Everyone is criticized including but not limited to the Pope, the Catholic church, Christians, the Christian church, Muslims, Hindus, whites, blacks, Chinese and Germans.

All nations are criticized including but not limited to the United States, China, Russia, Iran, Lebanon, Syria and the UK.

Israel is just another nation. It is no more special than any other nation. Its people are not any more special than any other people.

So the political state of Israel and the people who claim to be of the Jewish race can be criticized by anyone with an opinion on those things as erroneous or as right as those opinions might be.

Everyone is offended by this charge of ‘antisemitism’ every time history and current events are discussed involving the Jewish people, the religion of Judaism or the political state of Israel.

Israel is just another political state. Jews are just another race. Judaism is just another religion.

Roger Waters has the right to express his thoughts on these things.

The True Torah Jews have put together an amazing historical record of the creation of the political state of Israel and have shown with documentation that its creation was opposed by many devout believers of Judaism for very legitimate religious reasons within the context of their religious beliefs. There is a lot to be learned from reading these documents. People are strongly encouraged to visit the True Torah Jews site to read this documented history for themselves.

            True Torah Jews
            http://www.truetorahjews.org/

The reader will learn that not all Jews are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jews.

The reader will also learn that all believers in Judaism are not Zionists and not all Zionists are believers in Judaism.

So this fanatic criticism of Roger Waters is misguided. His flying pig having the Star of David on it is a symbolic criticism for the anti-human rights policies of the political state of Zionist Israel. Waters is not criticizing all Jews since all Jews are not Zionists. Waters is not criticizing all believers in Judaism since all believers in Judaism are not Zionists. But the Star of David is the current symbol for the political state of Zionist Israel.

Those who are ‘offended’ by the Star of David on Roger Water’s flying pig are simply trying to censor his criticism of these anti-human rights policies being criticized by Waters.

The days of being intimidated into silence by being called ‘antisemitic’ for legitimate criticism of the political policies of the state of Israel are over for hundreds of millions of intelligent and informed people the world over who are concerned for human rights in general and the well being of their own people and their own futures in particular.

        • Bathsheva Gladstone

ctuton, go sell your malevolent ignoramus hooey elsewhere, nobody here is interested in your brand of vitriolic garbage.

          • You wish, Gladstone. Actually people the world over are growing very tired of censorship disguised as an appeal to ‘antisemitism.’ The hoped for intimidation of the slanderous charge has lost its force.

      • chad,
All white people are desendants of Abraham. We are part of the lost ten tribes.
Quit bitching about peoples views towards one religion of people. Black folks call me a cracker, no one cries about that. It is considered thier 1st amendment right. Some white folks call black folks the ni$$r. He does have the right to exspress his views.
Also, he doesnt have a 1st amendment right, he isnt AMERICAN!!! He is part of the country that tried to rule America. He is exspressing his view of what Israel is (in his oppinion) doing to the Palestinians. I dont hold that view, so dont lump me in with him, but it is his view. If you dont like it dont listen to him.

        • 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
          Galations 3:29 (KJV)

    • Dave Winters

The man is a hater and spreads it..

    • Yeah except for if he had included the Islamic Crescent on the pig….all bets are off right…how DARE they insult the profit? He would never do such a thing for fear of being beheaded. And those on the left would pronounce it Islamaphobic….but a Star of David? Of course it is freedom of expression….

    • Naturally, you support the Anti-defamation League’s right to criticize Waters then, correct? Because if you don’t, that would be anti-free expression, anti-freedom of thought, anti-first amendment, anti-individual liberty, and anti-freedom to think (I’m not sure how that and “anti-freedom of thought” differ, but whatever.)

  • We Jews are far too sensitive. The real disgust should be turned within. The US is in horrible financial turmoil and at every turn there is a Jewish person behind a scandal or rip off. Who runs the IRS? Who ran the IRS? Who runs the Federal Reserve? Who ran the Federal Reserve? All Jews. Then there’s Bernie Madoff who had the SEC in his back pocket, now Michael Cohen is busted for insider trading but of course he’ll never see jail time. A Jew presently runs the treasury and who previously ran the treasury (Timothy Geithner a tax cheat) and the list goes on and on. All Jews like me. White collar crime, sophisticated financial schemes and rip offs that aren’t illegal but are incredibly immoral and are structured by braniac lawyers are killing the middle class and our economic standing in the world. I’m Jewish but this mis-management of our ecomnomy is becoming all too evident. We look like pre- WW2 Nazi Germany and it’s frightening when people start to realize the level of Jewish participation in schemes and mismanagement. Now in NY you have two perverts running for political office and one (Elliot Spitzer) wants to run the states finances! Tell me if this is a self-loathing streak in me or is it just stating what is painfully obvious?

    • Why don’t we just cleanse ourselves then seeming that we are the true problem, the Jewish problem… sounds ever so familiar.

      • The Wall Street/politician/attorney connection is a culture of pure greed and power. Our people are predominant in that triad. It sucks, it’s out of control and laws need to be implemented with strict oversight so it doesn’t get worse. In a sense, Elliot Spitzer was just such a watchdog and then he went out did what he did. We need sophisticated oversight but it’s unlikely because so many politicians are so intricately involved. History cannot be repeated.

        • You are laying out examples, but most of those (except Madoff) are politicians or political appointees. Could it be they are the corrupt one, and not so much “THE JEWS”?

The world population is right around 7 Billion. Of that only 0.2% are Jewish. So how do you figure we are all evil and causing all the worlds ills?

Maybe if you educated yourself about what means to be a Torah observant Jew then you would understand the world and the times.

The charedim you speak of can be carried away, but they are such a small percent of Israel’s population.

There are for sure more good Jews in the world than bad. Just like with any other group of people, Kirt.

    • Kirt sounds like another out there who claims he is Jewish (so that we don’t say he is anit-Jewish) and then attacks a few people in government who may/may not be Jewish and then projects that as something behind all Jews.
Nice try Kirk but we know how all haters like you work. That’s like blaming all the problems of America on blacks because we have a black President, Supreme Court Justice, Attorney General, Nat’l Sec. Advisor, etc.

      • I am Jewish, bar mitvah boy and everything. It is what it is. Look at the names and look at the mismanagement, the corruption and the scandals. We need to behave a little bit.

        • Melchizedek

Kirt mis-spelled “Bar Mitzvah” so now everyone knows he is Not a Member of the Tribe.

          • Wrong. I am at work wasting time commenting on this article and rushed my spelling. I had my Bar Mitzvah at Brith Emeth in Cleveland way back in the day. Granted, I botched my torah part and had to phonetically write it down but enough is enough, I got through it. I stand by my criticism of the bad boys we have running this nations economy. To criticize one’s own is to be self-loathing or “not really Jewish”? How about this, Israel’s orthodoxy are the most racist, biased, nasty people I’ve ever met.

    • “We jews..”?

      An obvious troll is obvious.

    • Dave Winters

      Who runs the IRS
      =========
Are you claiming that jews run the IRS?

Good grief..the hate is worse then I thought…

    • Self loathing definitely….you probably defend Islamofascism but hate your own heritage…you are a product of brainwashing by progressivism…there is hope though……you will be able to confess that Muhammed is God’s prophet or just pay the second class citizen Dhimmi tax ….

      • Self-loathing, nah. Conservative and able to see trends that are disheartening. What about my comments are wrong? Can you you deny anything I pointed out. I can add at least 10 or more names of our ilk at very high levels doing bad things.
Enough said. It’s not defaming Judaism, it’s defaming bad Jews. It’s like the Wall Street mafia has taken over our economy and not for the better.

    • Bathsheva Gladstone

If you’re Jewish Kirt, you’re obviously from the finkelstein, chomsky camps. Disgust, turned within? You are a promoter of self hatred, go hide under your bed– how do you show your face?

    • j00s_run_the_world

      someone sees the light

    • aubreyfarmer

How have you managed to overcome your brainwashing by Jewish propagandists. Please share it with those Jews that are completely out of touch with reality. Maybe we can avoid WW3.

  • Criticism of Isreal is not always or automatically antisemitism, just as all Jews do not support Isreal’s actions. There’s no direct correlation between a Star of David flying on Waters’ pig and him being an antisemite.

    • Yes, bradStyle. This is one of the issues with Theocracy. It provides cover for political shenanigans and bad behavior, and then the accused can claim that you are attacking their spiritual beliefs and the beliefs of others!

  • What they FAIL to mention is that, at the end of that anti-semitic song, there, that little video of him shows him FIRING an MP40, which was a Nazi machine gun! It’s an awesome gun, but inappropriate if he’s trying to distance himself from the Nazi’s…oh, and if you’re trying to avoid being classed with the rest of the Hitler Youth, don’t wear a black leather jacket! What an IDIOT!

    • Jason McInnis

The very point is to look like a fascist. It’s an anti-fascist song and presentation during this portion of The Wall. Roger isn’t the idiot.

    • No, YOU are the idiot. Waters is not “trying to distance himself from the Nazi’s” when he is pretending to be a fascist from the point in the show that commences with In The Flesh and ends with the song “Stop”. He is playing a fascist. People with IQ’s are able to figure it out….but you seemed to have missed it.

Roger is anti-war and anti-fascism. He constantly praises his father who gave his life fighting Hitler.

The type of play gun he uses in that song is so irrelevant that I can only hope that you are under the age of 12 since your lack of logic is so incredibly stupid.

      • Negative image of Judaism, black leather coat, MP40….symbolism to give Jews a black eye…looks like shi*, smells like shi*, tastes like shi*, sure glad he didn’t step in it…

      • He’s also anti-Israel. I won’t go so far as to call him a jew hater or anti-semitic, but he, like so many other well meaning but ignorant celebrities, attack Israel for their behaviour, while giving a free pass to her far more dangerous and fascistic enemies. It’s a blatant double standard that certainly was born of antisemitism, but now has been adopted by the mainstream with little thought beyond the slogans and headlines that are placed before them.

Roger Waters is just another well meaning idiot, so blinded by hype and his own hubris that he doesn’t even know the greater damage he’s causing. And he’s not alone. The world is full of these well meaning idiots. In their drive to improve a situation, they only make it far, far worse. I take issue with his ignorance, not his supposed hatred of jews.

    • DEAR COMMENT READER:

      Hello!!!

Should you continue reading comments about this article, please note:

There is a rather large amount of angry jewish commentation on this message board; They seem to take personal offense to Roger Waters’ depiction of modern fascism. Sadly, instead of doing an ounce of research, or, heaven forbid, taking a deep breath before deciding to comment, they begin zooming in on small portions of a pre-magnified fluff story. This is ignorance.

Question: If I took you to a broadway or a cinema, would you stand up and scream at the antagonist (“bad guy”) about how he has violated your personal feelings? No, you wouldn’t, because you’re not a twit. IT’S A STORY.

Now: Roger Waters was ON STAGE, GIVING THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE (doesn’t matter if he’s a bad actor), to personify evil IN A FICTIONAL COMPOSITION to a crowd in an effort to build anticipation and causality (AKA PLOT DEVICE).

It IS possible for him to take up issue with the malicious government and military policies of Israel without being a ‘Jew hater’. Yes.

If you believe every story you are told immediately after hearing ONLY ONE SIDE, you’re a twit.

GET OVER YOURSELVES, the fact that you are willing to trudge up the deaths of millions of people just to say you are outraged about a guy taking a shot at a governments actions by putting their logo on an inflatable representation is just SAD. Instead of focusing on this incident and letting it affect you into spewing out MORE NEGATIVITY and MORE VITRIOL, take action! Counter this perceived negative action with a positive one: smile at someone, tell them a funny joke, bake some of that awesome Jewish bread and share it with strangers or the less fortunate. Do your part to help people understand, if you perceive so little understanding in those around you; Or you can just go on for the rest of your life with a chip on your shoulder thinking people are out to get you and make jokes on your behalf – ultimately leading to you just posting more negativity and ignorance, and not helping anyone else understand where there might have just be a misunderstanding.

That being said, I love some Jewish people in my life, and enjoy some good Jewish food and klezmer from time to time.

      IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?
      I love you all

      • Hey, I am all for “research”. Could you tell us about the treatment of women in Arab countries. Or why all these Arab countries have one of the lowest standards of living? Or why there is no democracy and free press in these Arab countries. And why Arabs have a higher standard of living in Israel than any Arab country.
By your silence, you are supporting these deplorable conditions of over 1 billion of your fellow human beings.
Maybe “The Calm” would favor a Broadway comedy on the treatment of women in Arab countries. What do you say “The Calm”, it’s just a Broadway performance?

        • Great points Mitch….these same progressive pundits will NEVER put up with publicly denouncing the murderous and ficticious “Religion of Peace” because one would then be labeled an Islamaphobic and be subject to death threats….

      • Bathsheva Gladstone

Rabid calm… Careful sweetie, you sound a bit ignorant, or is that intentional blithering, drooling, idiocy on your part?

    • What you fail to mention is that Jew-haters ARE trying to associate Israel with being like the nazis. The symmetry is perfect for Roger Waters – and I’ve been a long-time Pink Floyd / Roger Waters fan and seem them in concert. But this is a favorite among Jew-haters. Equate the nazis and Jews as the same.

      • Right again Mitch….when its obvious that the true equivalent of Nazi hatred is Islamo-facism…

  • EXCELLENT!
    Absolutely wonderful!
Im going to buy an album.

  • Jason McInnis

I am no fan of Roger’s politics, but that this was intended as an anti-Semitic display is utter nonsense. The inflatable pig is covered in all manner of national, religious, and corporate logos. It also includes the Christian cross and the star and crescent, among others. Confetti made up of all these symbols is also dropped during the show (I still have some pieces of it from the Atlanta show). Both the pig and the confetti have been used at every stop on the tour, regardless of the hosting nation. It’s a comment on the way humans group themselves behind a “wall” of segregation based upon class, religion, nationality, etc. To single out the Star of David as being the lone religious symbol used by Waters is at best ignorant and at worst a totally disingenuous smear of Roger’s intended artistic statement.

    • (To the author): I don’t believe the hind quarter image is a Nazi salute, but rather the famous Vietnam War image (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f9/Nguyen.jpg)
(To Mr. McInnis): I’ll have to take your word on the other religious images, but I don’t see them anywhere in the video. As a casual PF fan, who has never seen that pig before, it seems quite logical to infer that Waters was equating the current Israeli regime with the fascist regime of the song. I don’t see any image of a person (“coon”) with an afro, so I don’t see the correlation between the lyrics and the pig.

      • Jason McInnis

        Mr. Ray,

A casual fan indeed if you have never seen the flying pig. It’s prominently display on one of Pink Floyd’s most successful albums (though to be clear that’s a pink pig without any symbols on it). :o)

As for the charge that Waters is equating the current Israeli regime with the fascist regime of the song, that’s entirely fair and I think probably accurately reflects his belief. However, that doesn’t make Waters a racist which is the charge of his critics in this article. Disagreement with Israeli policy doesn’t necessarily make one an anti-Semite any more than disagreement with the Obama administration makes one a racist (though that charge is all too frequently thrown at Obama’s critics). I vehemently disagree with Roger’s point of view on Israel, but he is making a broader statement on the connection between war and religion and/or nationalism. He isn’t singling out Israel for this single performance. They’re lumped in with many others. The Star of David has been on that pig for as long as a decade (I’ve seen it twice in person with my own eyes), long before he performed a show in Israel.

  • Stanley Walters

Thanks for the video, reminded me of the concert I went to a fe years back. Tremendous artist with absolutely the best show I EVER saw.

  • Bathsheva Gladstone

I think everyone misunderstood. Good ol’ rog clearly identifies with swine. Ergo the blow up doll of himself. What happens after the concert with his various swine toys should be strictly relegated to the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

  • I didn’t know Roger Waters was still relevent. Never could listen to their ridiculous psychedelic crap anyways.

    • I agree Kate. You’re lovely. :)

    • Since Pink Floyd stopped playing psychedlic music with the album Dark Side of the Moon and never returned to it, you are talking out of the wrong orafice on your body.

Since Roger Waters The Wall Tour made more money than any other tour in the year 2011 and 2010, and he playes to huge sold out stadium shows, uh, yeah, I guess that would suggest that he is still relevant.

      Sorry to burst your stupid-bubble.

  • You folks putting down Roger Waters are making absolute fools of yourselves.

The song he was singing in the video contains the lyric “That one looks Jewish, and that one’s a coon! Who let all this riff raff into the room”. The lyric is sung by Roger at this point as a fascist AND HE THE POINT IS THAT THOSE SENTIMENTS ARE WRONG!!! So, get a clue.

BTW, his dad died fighting Hitler you jackasses. Roger believes the state of Israel is oppressive to the other Middle East countries. I disagree with his political belief but to claim that Roger Waters is anti-semitic is pure stupidity. The ADL has figured it out…why are you so stupid that you cant get it.

BTW, to the liar who claimed to see The Wall Live in the U.S. and claims the pig had no graffitti on it, that is a pure, easily debunkable lie. The pig has had graffittie on every single The Wall Live concert since the tour started a few years ago.

    • Hey Bond,
The lyrics and the film are decades old, whereas Roger’s current Jew hatred is a lot newer. He’s always been against oppression, anti-religion and anti-authoritarianism, or so he says. So why no Muslim Star and Crescent on the balloon? The pig’s old news too, but the prominent Jewish stars on it aren’t. He’s making a statement here, and he’s entitled, but I’m also entitled to call him out on it.

And BTW, the Brits didn’t fight Hitler because of the Jews. As a matter of fact, Britain is complicit in the death toll of the Holocaust because they unilaterally defied the terms of their League of Nations mandate on Palestine and closed Palestine to all Jewish immigration in 1938 when Jews trying to flee Hitler were desperate for a haven.

Not only that, but less than three years after Auschwitz was liberated the UK was arming, training and in the case of Jordan officering the Arab armies whose openly stated goal was to murder every Jew in Palestine.

It was British officers under the notorious anti-semite Colonel John Glubb who oversaw the ethnic cleansing of Jews by Jordan’s Arab Legion from Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem in 1948.

      • There IS a crescent mooon on the balloon. It has been told and proven.
And crosses appear on the bombs dropped by a B12-like plane, so I’d say Christianity is blamed too.

  • He is a sick man, obviously. Truly satanic looking …and the mindless seals clap and cheer for it. HITLER WOULD be PROUD.
Dare you to stick an islamic crescent on the butt of that pig, Roger boy. They are the ‘religion’ of pieces, causing the most death an destruction.

  • Waters and the response to his behavior shows once again that people who play in the religious mud holes all get dirty.

  • All you haters need to get some context. If you were ever true fans of Pink Floyd you would know that Roger Waters is not anti-semitic. The Wall was written about Syd Barrett and his struggle with sanity. He likened it to the plight of the jews during the holocaust. Jewish people these days are so eager to pull the anti-semite card. Even referring to the holocaust without first checking with a jew is anti-semitic.

  • Truth McTruth

The pig’s hindquarters are actually a reference to a famous Vietnam-war error photo, not a “Nazi salute”.

  • Why are people shocked at a dislike of Jews?

    What’s to like?

    • says some buffoon whose sad life no doubt benefits from technology developed in Israel or medical/health innovations created by Jewish doctors and scientists.

  • I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and was influenced in many ways by their philosophy. But never did I think I would see such a hateful display from Roger Waters. Pigs with the Star of David while Roger shoots a machine pistol…what has become of him?

  • Love Israel, great people and culture, but some of you folks on here need to take some responsibilty for the actions of your government.

  • Anthony C. Abela

My dear friends, I have been to your lovely country and loved it, have read all the books pertaining to your fight for your country. Do not let these anti Semitic morons upset you. “..those who curse Israel will be cursed themselves and those who bless Israel will be blessed by Ywh.. I am of Maltese origin and live in Australia and am amazed at how many of your words have the same meaning and sounding as in Maltese language. Take heart, you have a lot of friends worldwide. May Ywh bless Israel.

  • This guy is simply disgusting. He is playing with the lowest muslim instincts calling for hate free of charge, simply for the seek of hatred antisemitism that he is spreading with his gun.
than thanking the mobb scanding MERHABA to him.
It is simply disgusting what this guy is capable of for selling his disgusting “music” to muslims and antisemit audience.
To me he is more dangerous than AL MABHOUH or ARAFAT he’s go an acoount

    • That is a pretty racist rant you have going there iche. Far more racist than anything that Waters has allegedly done. But for some people, any criticism of Israel’s ghastly behaviour earns the ‘anti-Semitic’ label. Devaluing the memory of the many millions who have died in real anti-Semitism by using the term to belittle critics of Israeli policy is a cynical act. Hiding behind their memory to justify the apartheid and ethnic cleansing Israel enforces in the West Bank is sickening hypocrisy.

  • Haha, while Roger is filled with nothing else than hatred, we, the Jews, continue to contribute to the World.
Let him go on. He will die one day and his ‘music’ will be forgotten, but our contribution will live for ever.
    Poor guy.

ps. one should not mix him with the Pink Floyd. He does not reach David Gilmour and the others abilities.

  • Ole Groth-Andersen

Roger Waters is not better than a full time Nazischwein himself, I see him in my mind as a Hitlerjugend “mit kreuzband und lederhosen”

  • Frank Guldberg Lassen

Well, I have a ticket for his concert i Copenhagen august 11. That one is for sale now, I will not support that anti-semitic *sshole :-(

  • I don’t think Waters hates the Jews. That pig represent only the Zionists and not all the Jews. As we know, Israel it’s a Zionist State.

    • Get a life!Hate will only consume you.

    • What rubbish! Zion is another word for Israel.Israel is the only Jewish country in the world 3000 years old before Jesus came around and he was jewish to. And 2000 years before Muhammad came around an Invented Islam on the basis of Judaism.

    • A Zionist State – of course Israel is – it simply means a yearning for a Jewish homeland and a yearning to return to Zion, also called Israel. That is all Zionism means – there is nothing wrong with being Zionistic. That just means Jews want to return back to their homeland. To equate it with being something bad shows you are truly a sick individual. Your father instilled you with hate and venom. You need to heal yourself and learn to love. Please get help and make the world a better place. It is not too late to repent.

    • Ah, we’re not anti-Israel, we’re anti-Zionist! What a dodge! Scratch the surface of someone who proclaims to be pro-Israel but anti-Zionist and you’ll find that by “Zion” they mean an Israel that’s any bigger than a postage stamp. “We don’t want Israel to be destroyed, just cordoned off and wrapped in concertina wire. We love Israel so much we want to keep it one tiny place.”

    • You’re not too bright. A ‘zionist’ is someone who believes in the right of Jews to live in their ancient homeland.

The only ‘non-zionist jew’ is a traitor to his people.

  • Well, at least Roger Waters reveals his true colors, unlike other BDS people who pretend they are not antisemitic. To be anti-Israel’s existence is to be antisemitic, and the German courts have ruled that it doesn’t even matter if you are Jewish you can still be an antisemite.

  • Waters you are a disgusting piece of human waste and should be flushed down the toilet.SICK

  • Don’t fret…….he is just an ignorant, sad, pathetic, creature. We all know what his future holds don’t we? We have to be calm and forgiving in the eyes of YHWH. He will have to answer…………….

  • The pig that is singing or the one floating above?

  • Which pig were you referring to?

  • Of all the crude and insulting things to portray. This
man is bold and certainly full of hate. What a shame.

    • “‘Everything will be okay, just keep consuming,'”

Yes, does that not include paying big bucks for an evening’s entertainment in some mega-arena?

Really, what could be more hypocritical than a very wealthy, aging rock musician, posing as a “cultural critic” while on a world tour, transported by jet planes, tour buses and huge semi-trucks moving equipment, cast and crew, pointing at Esso and other petrochemical manufacturers as the great evil doers.

  • Almost equally offensive to a pig with a Jewish Star on its backside, is the ADL’s Director of Media Relations Todd Gutnick’s response.

Finding no offense, nothing anti-Semitic about such a blatant “F.U. to the Jews” in this insulting denigration of the Star of David, this is the latest example of the now uselessness of the ADL.

How disgraceful, excusing as “old news” the vile Waters’ signature slop. Jew Hatred is “old news” too – and the ADL once challenged it.

  • Tamer Ibrahim

As far as I know, Mr. Waters takes issue with the state of Israel. It isn’t Waters who chose the design of the Israeli flag to include a religious symbol. It wasn’t Mr. Waters who worked for decades to equate the words Jewish – Israel – and Zionist so that each lost its respective meaning.
As far as I can tell from Mr. Waters’ work (particularly “Amused to Death” he really doesn’t have much respect for the institute of religion in general. But I don’t see anything that suggests he has anything against Judaism in particular.
Do you have information suggesting otherwise?

    • I don’t see Muslim symbols on the pig – Ibrahim, you are simply defending a hateful fool and supporting him because you personally hate Israel. Let’s call a spade a spade.

    • @Tamer Ibrahim
It seems you are ignorant of the history of anti-semitism. Unfortunately, you are not alone in this respect. Indeed, there is a refusal to learn and a refusal to remember. Thus, denial serves the purpose of pretending there’s no such thing as anti-semitism. Since anti-semitism is a malicious attack on Jews, Judaism and Israel, people who are Jewish, Israeli and Zionist tend to see anti-semitism even though this makes anti-semities uncomfortable. The only recourse is to either deny what is anti-semitism or to blame the Jews/Israelis and Zionists for it. Taking responsibility for anti-semitism is never an option.

During the Middle Ages, the worst insult levelled against Jews was to be called a pig. Under the Nazis, the worst insult was to be called a “Judensau”, a Jewish pig. Throughout the Moslem countries of the Middle East, Jews/Zionists/Israelis are called the descendants of apes and pigs. Stereotypical images showing menacing Jews are also connected with being pigs. In the German town of Wittenburg, where Martin Luther displayed his anti-semitism, along with his 95 Theses, leading to the Reformation, there is an offensive piece showing a pig, with a rabbi holding up the pig’s tail and looking into the pig’s rectum.

Thus,Jews have been equated with “pigs” for a very, very long time. The question is why you feel impelled to defend an anti-semite, pretending that what is blatant anti-semitism is nothing of the kind? Anti-semitism is Jew hatred. It is malicious. It is always a fabrication, a distortion and an attempt to attack the self-image of the Jew. Waters is an anti-semite according to the European Working Party’s Definition of Anti-Semitism. I sincerely hope you are not included.

  • Roger waters..Muhammad…Hitler…eichmann…no difference

  • Does anyone else feel we are living in the days leading up to WW2 Nazi Germany time?

  • Boycott him… Do unto others as they would do to you

  • steve kollander

Wake up, folks! No matter how Waters or his people spin it, this jackass is a blatant anti-Semite. Tell your friends to throw their Pink Floyd albums into the trash.

  • THE WHOLE THING LOOKS VERY NAZI LIKE

  • Hating Israel and Jews is the shorthand used by the intellectally limited, such as Roger Waters. The Roger Waters of the world believe joining the anti-Semitics gives them some sort of status. What it does is tell us about him and his ilk — how little they know about history and current affairs, and how desperate they are to be noticed. In the end it doesn’t matter. “It matters not what the world says. What matters is what the Jews do.” (David Ben Gurion).

  • BethesdaDog

How is this not anti-semitic? Is this another Foxman/ADL fail?

  • Pink Fraud

  • Roget behavior suits for a 6 years old child (and not an intelligent one…)

  • I have been a Pink Floyd fan for many years, but no longer. A Star of David appearing on a pig is not a coincidence, it is a slap in the face of the chosen people of God. I, as a Christian will not tolerate or support anyone who is so blantantly hateful towards God’s people. As the Abrahamic covenant says; ” I will bless those that bless you and curse those who curse you.” Good luck with that Roger, I assure you, it won’t go well. God bless Israel.

    • Hm.
You stop being a fan of a group who has NEVER shown anti-semitism, a group Waters has left 30 years ago or so… because of something happening NOW.

And people still ask me why religious integralists give me the creeps.

  • Two things are clear: Roger Waters is a pig of an anti-Semite, and Todd Gutnick is a total idiot.

    • Calling someone antisemitic who is not destroys your credibility and trivializes that accusation so much as to make it’s charge meaningless. How do you not get that what you’re saying hurts Israel and Jews?

  • I saw “The Wall” tour in the U.S. The pig did not feature any symbols on it; it was solid pink, so this is new. And absolutely outrageous and disgusting.

    • Shame you got to see such an amazing and profound show…it was obviously lost on you. It must be sad to have such a small brain.

    • Hypocrit that Waters is, he knew damned well that he couldn’t get away with conduct like that in the US. Europe is, unfortunately, another story.

And as we all know, real pigs will fly before Roger Waters promotes a boycott of, say, Syria and Iran, for the wholesale slaughter of 10s of thousands and displacement of millions currently being conducted against the anti-regime elements by the minority Allawite loyalists and Iran’s Lebanese shock troops from Hezbollah or against Communist China for its occupation of Tibet and subjugation of Tibetans by Han Chinese.

Professor Says Dodgers Power-Hitter Could Break Stereotype of Jews in Sports

Rookie player for the Dodgers Joc Pederson may boost the image of Jewish athletes if he can prove he has both brains and brawn, according to a professor writing for the Daily Beast on Sunday. David Fontana, Associate Professor of Law at George Washington University School of Law, pointed out the longstanding stereotype of Jews as more brainy than brawny, and asserted that Pederson could break the stereotype. Indeed, the 23-year-old’s “power-hitting” performance thus far has been considered rare among Jewish athletes. “If Pederson sustains his […]
