About

The Internet of Things is a game-changing moment in our relationship with technology and personal data as we stand on the edge of a data explosion from interconnected devices. As with all revolutionary new technologies, the IoT brings with it new challenges for businesses, regulators, consumers – in fact anyone who cares about the responsible use of data.

In July 2014 TRUSTe hosted the first Internet of Things Privacy Summit at the Rosewood Hotel, Menlo Park. The event brought together policy makers, privacy professionals, IoT specialists and leading academics to define the privacy needs of the new inter-connected world and scope out the next generation of solutions.

In 2015 the focus was on practical solutions to the privacy challenges of the Internet of Things with multiple case studies, workshops and panel presentations bringing together the whole privacy IoT ecosystem from technologists, product engineers and data scientists to privacy practitioners, regulators, and academics for a day of discussion, insight and practical take-aways.

Next year’s IoT Privacy Summit will be held in Silicon Valley June 2016. Speaker submissions will open in January 2016 with details available on this site. Do get in touch if you’re interested in sponsor or partnership opportunities
