'When you're roasting someone and they walk past!' Twitter erupts with hilarious memes following THAT Leonardo DiCaprio and Lady Gaga Golden Globes moment

Leonardo DiCaprio may have won one of the top prizes of the night, but it was hilarious and unexpected recation to Lady Gaga briefly knocking him that became the most talked-about moment of the Golden Globes.

The singer-turned-actress was seen walking through the crowd to pick up her Best Actress gong, when she accidentally knocked Leo's arm, causing him to a pull shocked, cheeky face at her.

As is to be expected, the internet erupted in a tidal wave of funny tweets, memes and plenty of gifs of the moment it happened.

Leading the way was a brilliant creation that showed Leo's face covered by meme favourite 'side eyeing Chloe', a young girl who became famous a few years ago after being photographed looking incredibly concerned.

Another meme went one further, with the actor's face being replaced with an emoji version of the girl, creating a rather meta internet moment.

Others followed, with one user cleverly editing a photograph of Leonardo with an umbrella over the singer, along with the hashtag '#shade'.

In the style of memes, some used the situation to change its meaning, with one Instagram user using snapshots of the memorable moment along with the scenario: 'When you're roasting someone behind their back and they walk past.'

One joker used a fantastic screenshot of Leo's stunned face to along with the caption: 'Tuesday is Lady Gaga and we're all Leo, right lads?'

Popular meme-based Instagram account @_theblessedone opted to create a collage of the award-winner's best faces of the night, including his shock at winning Best Actor for his role in The Revenant and - of course - the Lady Gaga bottom gaze.

And, of course, there was plenty of joking around on Twitter, with US stand-up comedian Jen Kirkman making a quip about The Revenant actor's penchant for romancing hot, young models.

'I love how Leo reacted to being in Gaga's way with the fear of a man forced to look at a woman who is older than 22,' she joked.

Another Twitter user, @ShelbyWhite,' added: 'The look Leo gave LadyGaga is what we've all been giving her for years.'

The hullabaloo was over the Revenant star's reaction to being accidentally shoved by the pop star as she made her way to the podium to accept her Best Supporting TV Actress gong.

And, hours later it was revealed that Leo was thoroughly embarrassed at how the whole thing had become a topic of worldwide conversation.

The 41-year-old won Best Actor in a Drama for The Revenant as the film picked up both Best Picture and Best Director.

The cameras at LA's Beverly Hilton caught a classic candid moment as the 29-year-old made her way through the crowd following the surprise announcement of her name from the Best Supporting Actress nominees.

The Revenant star was sharing a laugh with someone at his table with his arm on the back of her chair, oblivious the platinum blonde was on a collision course behind him.

But for the Golden Globe awards, Gaga aced the red carpet in one of her best looks yet. The American Horror Story star channeled Marilyn Monroe in a velvet gown by Atelier Versace and blonde, bombshell hair.

The off shoulder silhouette and V-neckline showed off the singer's decolletage while a nipped in waist and subtle train highlighted her enviable figure.

She managed to hold off her fellow nominees Flesh and Bone's Sarah Haye, American Crimes' Felicity Huffman, Bessie's Queen Latifah, and Fargo's Kirsten Dunst to claim the prize. 

On top of her six Grammys, the star is now halfway to entry into the illustrious EGOT club, only needing and Oscar and a Tony to complete the set.
