• ViewNX‑i software lets you download pictures from your Nikon digital camera and put them to use. Designed specifically as an image browser, it works with other software to greatly enhance what can be done with pictures after they are taken. It can map where photos were taken based on embedded location data and can be used with social networking and other web services. The bundled ViewNX Movie Editor makes processing and editing your movies a snap. ViewNX‑i also works with Capture NX‑D (version 1.2.0 or later), which can be used to save NEF/NRW (RAW) images in other formats and to make adjustments to photos in all supported formats, including JPEG and TIFF.

 ViewNX 2

• ViewNX 2 is an all-in-one application for image transfer*, browsing, sorting, and quick editing for both still images and movie files. It is a fun and easy-to-use application offering enhanced operation and is useful for all Nikon digital camera owners.

• Nikon Transfer 2 is included in the application to provide easy file transfer from your Nikon camera* or Memory card reader to a Primary and Backup destination folder. View all images before transfer and select only those you want to keep, rename them, add copyright or other XMP/IPTC information, or Protect your image files from deletion.

• New editing functions enable cropping and image straightening for RAW-, TIFF- and JPEG- format images, and adjustment of White Balance and Exposure Compensation for NEF/ NRW RAW images captured with Nikon digital cameras. The Picture Control Utility is also included to allow quick modifications of Picture Controls for NEF/ NRW RAW files. 

• View NX 2 will batch convert and/or resize NEF/ NRW RAW files to TIFF(16- or 8-bit) or JPEG quickly and easily.

• Other editing options include Sharpening, Contrast, Brightness, Highlight and Shadow Protection, D-Lighting, Color Boost, Auto Red Eye Reduction, and Axial Color and Lateral Color Aberration filtering.

• If more editing is needed, open with Nikon Capture NX 2 with one click on the  toolbar.

• ViewNX 2 is also equipped with new Movie Editor that allows users to trim existing movie files to remove unwanted portions and then compile clips into a single movie with added music and different segment transitions.
  

• View NX 2 offers smooth collaboration and easy upload with Nikon Image Space, Nikon's image storage and sharing service.

• Geo Tag option is fun to add GPS coordinates to your image files and place them on a world map or use the Log Matching function to match image date/time information with GPS log data, then write GPS data to images.

• *Please note that the transfer function will not transfer images from serial connected cameras. Use of a memory card reader is recommended. This option allows images shot with much older Nikon digital cameras to be used with the latest Nikon software.

Picture Control Utility 2.0

• Picture Control Utility 2.0 is software that allows users to adjust and manage Picture Controls - Nikon's exclusive function for specifying imaging characteristics. With this utility, users can use NEF RAW images they have captured to create custom Picture Controls that achieve the characteristics they prefer or intend.

• Custom Picture Controls that have been created in this software can be saved to a memory card for loading into a camera, or created and altered in the camera then imported into the software for editing.

• Picture Controls that have been imported into the Picture Control Utility 2.0 can then be readjusted and used with ViewNX 2 and Capture NX- D.

• Picture Control Utility 2.0 may be launched from ViewNX 2 or Capture NX-D for collaberation with these software applications, or installed and launched as a separate application for easier collaberation with cameras.

• Picture Control Utility 2.0 supports files with the "NP2" file extension, (custom Picture Controls that can be used with cameras that support the new Picture Control System), and files with the "NPC" file extension, ( custom Picture Controls that can be used with all compatible cameras).

 ViewNX

• ViewNX is the predecessor to View NX 2. If you have an older computer, then you may want to use View NX. Similar to View NX 2, this is also an application for sorting, organizing, viewing, and applying minor edits to images captured by digital cameras. View NX 1.x does not include Nikon Transfer, listed below.

• With ViewNX, you can handle RAW (NEF) and JPEG image files that were recorded simultaneously at shooting as one file, enabling easy organization of your digital images. Also, you can switch between RAW (NEF) and JPEG images by a single click, helping you check RAW image details easily.
  Moreover, you can visually sort or organize images by labeling classified images based on the scene or by setting the priority of each image using the Rating function.

• In addition,  by uploading files such as image and movie files to "my Picturetown", you can further enjoy organizing and viewing them.

• ViewNX also allows you to edit the XMP/IPTC Information and add the photographer's name, locations, or comments, to facilitate text-based information management. If shooting locations are embedded in images as GPS information, you can check them on a map.

• ViewNX provides image adjustment functions, such as color tone or gradation adjustments, for NEF format RAW images. Some of these adjustments are also applicable to JPEG, TIFF, and NRW format RAW images.

• Other features include letting you add frequently used folders to the favorite folder, checking details of an image in multiple-screen environments, or playing recorded movies or sounds.

 Nikon Transfer

• New camera models ship with View NX 2 which includes Nikon Transfer 2. For newer cameras and computers, please use View NX 2.  

• Allows for simple transfer of images captured with a Nikon digital camera or images recorded to media such as memory cards to a computer. Designed for easy integration with ViewNX and Capture NX software.

• Allows for back-up copying and embedding of information including copyright into image data during transfer.

Nikon NEF RAW Codec

• The Nikon NEF Codec is a module for Windows systems that makes Nikon RAW (.NEF) image files as easy to work with as JPEG and TIFF images. Please click the link to the right and view the system requirements before downloading and installing.

Windows NEF RAW Codec

• Camera Control Pro 2 enables simplified remote control of many Nikon digital SLR functions from a personal computer, and includes advanced features such as movie recording with AF selection and Interval Timer capture, Manual focus, and RGB Histogram 

• Camera Control Pro 2 is compatible with Nikon’s latest software, including View NX-i and Capture NX-D, for smoother image processing from shooting to transfer and storage.

Image Authentication Software

• Image Authentication software is designed to determine whether an image has been altered at any time after capture. Designed primarily for use with the D2X, other supported cameras include the D3X, D3S, D3, D700, D300S,  and D300. Switch on the Image Authentication option in the camera, and the software will positively determine if the image has been altered since capture.

COOLPIX S1100pj PC-PJ Transfer

• The PC-PJ Transfer software CD-ROM is supplied with the COOLPIX S1100pj. This software allows you to use the camera's built in projector to project the computer display via a USB connection.

• Create wireless profiles for the D3X, D3S, D3, D700, D300S, and D300 and the WT-4 for wireless image transfer to both Macintosh and Windows systems. Also for use with Camera Control Pro 2 for wireless control of your camera from your computer.

• Create wireless profiles for the D200 / WT-3 for Wireless image transfer directly to computer via FTP or Camera Control Pro.

• For creating profiles with Nikon Coolpix Cameras which offer wireless transfer.

• Enables pairing of the D2H, D2Hs and D2X and WT-2 with the host computer to wirelessly transfer images.

 Nikon View

• Nikon View software is included with some Nikon Coolpix and D-SLR cameras.
  Nikon View is used to browse and download images to the computer from a supported Nikon digital camera. You can then open and adjust the image in the standard Nikon Editor, Nikon Capture Editor (if Nikon Capture is installed) or any registered Image Editor (Adobe Photoshop, for example). Nikon View also allows you to view the Shooting Data as well as print many different sizes and layouts of images. Other features of Nikon View included emailing images, creating web pages, removing Red Eye, uploading to NikonNet or to a PDA. A full version of Nikon View is available for download from this site.
• Nikon View Software contains the following components:
• • Nikon Transfer - For moving images from camera to computer
  • Nikon Browser - For browsing thumbnail images from transferred images
  • Nikon Viewer - For looking at larger versions of images
  • Nikon Editor - For basic editing (color, contrast, etc.) of images
  • Nikon NEF Plug-in - If Adobe Photoshop is installed Nikon View will also install a plug-in allowing RAW NEF files to be opened and edited directly in Photoshop. Nikon View can edit NEF RAW images from the Nikon D-1 series, D100, and D70 DLR cameras only.
