MDC Chairman calls Little Bay Development and port project, ‘ambitious’

MDC (Montserrat Development Corporation) Chairman, John E. Ryan says during the Premier’s press conference on his Dubai Investor mission last week Tuesday, there continues to be interest in the other developments at Little Bay. He was responding about the information MDC had provided to DFID last year May on the interests, visits and intents from potential investors.

“We continue to have interest, we had letters of intent from a former in Trinidad and Tobago we have other letters of intent coming in, this is a work in progress the conversations continue – it is not something that going to happen overnight.”

He said also,” The entire development through there, we are speaking of upwards of three hundred (300) million dollars perhaps, including the port – port at $150.. It’s a very ambitious project and don’t expect it can happen overnight,” noting that sometimes people, “…come to the table and almost ready to sign and then they back off.”

We reported the CEO Browne’s statement before of the total projects to run at US$450 million including the port.

He informed also, “it’s an ongoing thing and very alive – we had some interest in recent times from the Chinese…”
