Trivia

The perfect aim

The objective of archery athletes is simple, but not at all easy: to hit their arrows into the centre of a target 1.22 metres in diameter from a distance of 70 metres.

Arrows

The arrows must have a maximum diameter of 9.3 mm. Most of them are even smaller, around 5.5 mm, enabling even faster flights (sometimes exceeding 240km/h).

Robin Hood

The term “Robin Hood” is given to the sport’s most difficult feat – splitting the shaft of an arrow already in the target with another arrow. An archer who achieves this can take the arrows home as a personal trophy.
