Sergio Pellissier is the winner of the 2011-12 Cangrande del Bentegodi award, which he will be presented with this Thursday at 11:30am in Piazza San Zeno, in front of the Il Calmiere restaurant.

The forward from the Valle d'Aosta has won the prize in its eleventh year, which is given by Confcommercio Verona's publication “Il Commercio Veronese” in collaboration with ChievoVerona. Pellissier previously won this award for three seasons running between 2006 and 2009.

Gialloblù fans vote for their man of the match after every home game, and this year they decided on Pellissier over Cyril Théréau, who headed the list for a long time, and the other attacker Davide Moscardelli, who finished third.

Previous winners: Eugenio Corini (2001-2002), Nicola Legrottaglie (2002-2003), Simone Perrotta (2003-2004), Luca Marchigiani (2004-2005), Franco Semioli (2005-2006), Sergio Pellissier from 2006-2007 to 2008-2009), Stefano Sorrentino (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) and once again Sergio Pellissier (2011-2012).

Team manager Marco Pacione, Confcommercio Verona president Paolo Arena and representing the sponsors, Michele Rossetto, will be present at the ceremony.
