MUMBAI — After Master Sachin, Aftab Shivdasani, Jugal Hansraj, Urmila, Sana Saeed, Hrithik Roshan and umpteen other examples, we have another child artiste — Omkar Kapoor — who has graduated to adulthood and lead roles.
He plays one of the male leads in “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2,” so when he says, “I want to show my film to Anil-sir, Sridevi ma’am and Salman-bhai,” we know there are cogent reasons for his motivation and wish.
Omkar Kapoor was the child artiste we saw in films like “Masoom,” “Judwaa,” “Judaai” and “Hero No.1” among some others. And while in “Judaai,” he was Anil Kapoor’s and Sridevi’s son, he played a dual role as the younger version(s) of Salman Khan in “Judwaa.” Of course, he is also the boy who enacted the popular song, “Chotta Baccha Samajhke Humko” from “Masoom,” which was directed by another popular child artiste-turned-filmmaker, Mahesh Kothare.
Omkar Kapoor was off films for over 14 years, as he was completing his studies, but his passion for acting remains unchanged. He now wants his seniors’ views as well as blessings.
