Leeds United have confirmed the departure of striker Tresor Kandol after the remainder of his contract was cancelled.

The Congolese hit-man had 12 months remaining on his Elland Road deal, but was not part of manager Simon Grayson's plans.

Leeds were happy to let the 28-year-old leave on a free transfer although with no offers on the table they have now opted to release him.

Kandol was signed by ex-manager Dennis Wise in 2006 and went on to make 77 appearances for Leeds, scoring 16 goals.

He had spells with Millwall and Charlton in the 2008/09 campaign and is now free to find another club.
