ou may not be ready for that yet, but your kids will love it.” This may be the first thing that comes to mind on a first listen. For purely scientific purposes, This Is Living was thoroughly tested on a focus group of local 8 year olds, (who happen to be rather opinionated worship musicians for their age) … They loved it!
The band describes themselves as “young people who are passionate about bringing the message of Jesus, and the spirit of freedom that comes only from knowing him.” Their music certainly matches that description! Youthful, high energy, and fun. Perfectly suited for youth and young-adult settings.
For adult contemporary church, the poppy, upbeat vibrant feel of this EP might be a stretch. However, the songs lend themselves to reinterpretation easily. Some have found that “Sinking Deep” with a slight rearrangement to contemporary rock is resounding strongly with their blended congregations.
Sounds like:
Electronic pop with heavy synth and crystal clear vocals on the upbeat songs, prominent piano and acoustic guitar on the slower ones. Up-tempo songs with a dancey vibe are right alongside the tender moments of piano and acoustic guitar as well, rounding out the styles presented.
