NEW ORLEANS — It was a Super Bowl full of story lines, but an unexpected one took over Super Bowl 47.
The Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in a game that was marred by a power outage that forced a 34-minute delay and seemed to change the direction that the game was headed.
Baltimore led San Francisco 21-6 at halftime thanks to three touchdown passes from quarterback Joe Flacco. Then Jacoby Jones took back the opening kickoff of the second half a Super Bowl-record 108 yards to give the Ravens a 28-6 lead. But on the ensuing drive, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans suffered a power outage that took out half the lights and forced a long delay that seemed to zap the Ravens momentum.
