Boerne Stage airport is located in the near northwest area of San Antonio, Texas and has been in operation since 1986. Paved, lighted, 4340’ in length and 60’ in width, 5C1 is home to over 140 aircraft. Instrument approaches for runways 17 and 35, self serve 100LL and Jet-A, maintenance, and an on field AWOS-III make Boerne Stage Airfield the premier aviation gateway to the Texas Hill Country. Aircraft based at 5C1 range from piston singles and twins to warbirds, homebuilts, sailplanes, and corporate turboprops and jets. A perimeter high game fence encompassing the airport and Threshold Ranch subdivision is under construction with a scheduled completion in late summer 2015. Boerne Stage Airfield represents the best of the vibrant diverse community of general aviation. Privately funded and developed by Robert and Nancy Bruce, Boerne Stage is a privately held public use airport, with no debt, that is perpetually deeded for the exclusive, permanent use as an airport.
