Nguyen says ‘no chance’ he’ll be back; Narduzzi in town

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M tackling legend Dat Nguyen said Thursday that there is “no chance” he’ll be a part of A&M’s new staff, and already has cleaned out his locker in the Bright building.

Nguyen is the school’s all-time tackle leader and the 1998 Lombardi Award winner who spent the better part of last decade with the Dallas Cowboys, both as a player and assistant. Nguyen has spent the past two seasons as A&M’s inside linebackers coach under Mike Sherman, who was fired on Dec. 1.

Also, Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi is in College Station and visiting with new head coach Kevin Sumlin, according to multiple reports. An Ohio native, Narduzzi has spent the past five seasons with the Spartans. The Aggies, 7-6 following their Meineke Bowl victory over Northwestern on Saturday, are entering the Southeastern Conference this summer.
