On the ice:
Who/what inspired you to step onto the ice and what age?
Chris:
When I was seven and a half I saw Philippe Candeloro skating on the TV and at that point I knew I wanted to skate like him.

Amani: Living in Oman, there wasn’t much to do but there was a tiny melting ice rink there. I was eight years old and tried it and despite it flooding and being dirty, I loved it instantly.

How long have you been skating together? We have been skating together just over two years. It took a while to convince Amani to move from being a single skater to a pair but it was worth the wait (Chris).

What do you consider your greatest achievement to date?
Chris:
Winning the British Championships after only six months together was amazing and to reach the finals of the 2015 World Championships was another great achievement for us.

Amani: There are a few; winning the British Championships after just six months skating together, reaching the finals in the 2015 World  Championships and performing our first triple twist at the IJS Sheffield 2015.

Off the ice:
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Chris:
Amani and I play a lot of ping-pong and darts when we are away from training but I also like to play video games and chill out.

Amani: Chris and I play a lot of ping-pong and darts, I always beat him! When I am home I love singing and dancing and being with friends, family and my lovely dog Domino.

One thing you can’t live without?
Chris:
That’s an easy one... Food!

Amani: Food – I love food so much, if I’m not eating, I’m thinking or talking about food. Chris and I are the same with that.

Favourite band/music:
Chris:
Anything really – I just tend to listen to the UK’s Top 40.

Amani: Ed Sheeran and Il Divo. I also love skating to the song Requiem for a Dream.

Favourite film/TV programme:
Chris:
Amani and I like to watch movies together, mainly comedies but I like anything with Jessica Alba.

Amani: Pretty Little Liars, Hunger Games, Saw and Comedy in general including 21 Jump Street or basically anything with Channing Tatum!

Fun fact:
Chris:
I can do a really good Donald Duck impression.

Amani: Mine and Chris’ birthdays are a day apart on 14th and 15th July.
